Has anyone here read any of the dresden files books? I think it would be interesting (except for a couple of leaps that would need to be made) to see a cross over between anita blake and dresden.

for those of you who haven't read the series the Dresden Files is about a Wizard (probably around his 40's) who battles the evil stuff and all that kinda like anita. It is set in chicago which is one of the reasons I think it would be cool to see a cross over book because they are both close in region. It has had vamps, were's (and unlike most it also contains multiple breeds of were) and ghosts/ghouls/zombies, ect. Oh and a big thing with faeries

yes i have read the dresden files and think they are very worth taking a look into. and i think it would be interesting to see a cross there but i dont think it would really happen. i mean they have the same mood about them but do you think anita's world is a little more complicated than harry's?

yeah, in some ways, but it'd be kinda interesting, I find the biggest problem with a cross over is how the dresden books represent the vamps and weres

well i think they will do like any other authors and compromise on what the vamps and weres will be like. i like anita blakes better, though.

Woot for Dresden Files! Although I've always thought Harry (Dresden) to be in his early to mid 30's at the latest, what with the hot reporter girlfriend and all.

Oddly enough, when I first read the Dresden Files, one of my first thoughts was that this would be a gread crossover with AB:VH. It helps that Thomas Raithe, a vamp who shows up in the 3rd (?) book, is pretty much a clone of Jean-Claude, except without the French accent, and with more of a sense of humor.

But the greatest parallel to Anita I've found in the Dresden-verse is Lt. Karrin Murphy of CPD. Short, female, frequently armed, a bit too pretty for most men to take her seriously, often pissed-off because of this, trained in at least one martial art, and a complete adept at a**-kickery.

The Dresden Files are AWESOME. My bf got me into them, and while he does not care for Anita Blake, he loves Dresden. I do too.

Wow quite a few people agree with me, sometimes I think some of my ideas are a little far fetched. Woot mrgreen For the Dresden books I think Thomas is my favorite character, he's a really good comic relief but can be serious when need be, I havent gotten to read about the 4 newest books and it's depressing, I just haven't had the extra money to buy them and my library doesn't have em crying it's depressing.
