Faster, faster, faster!
Sprinting at full tilt through the open meadows near the seashore where the foal didn't have to be hindered by hills and rocky terrain; the dark blue streak sped by like lighting. There was so much noise! The pounding of his hooves on the tender terra nearly deafening him to the thudding of his own racing heart in the confines of his chest. Heaving in and out as his small but increasingly defined muscles exerted energy like the energizer bunny; it seemed the colt would run himself down till he simply wouldn't be able to walk another step!
Closing his ruby orbs momentarily, he'd been left out here to run and play for the meantime while his father had wandered off in search of his sister Cicely. Father was incredibly worried when she'd failed to come home and it was getting later and later in the day. Aiolos was worried too; but if he had time to worry; he had time to run! Soon his worries were long forgotten in the bliss which came to him in the form of the warm sea air whipping his mane back and caressing his short fur.
Bursting out in a chorus of laughter; he didn't quite see the point in worrying. If anyone could find Cicely it would be his parents; and if they couldn't locate her well then Aiolos would run all night to find her if need be! Yet for now...he decided to enjoy his first taste of freedom while he could out in the grassy plains. Fall had most definately set in; and although the days clung to the little warmth they had left....winter was most definately just around the corner.

'Freedom' was an odd thing. For her it meant being near enough to either her mother or father that they would hear her crying out if there was some sort of trouble... Or near enough that her mother wouldn't worry that she'd become lost again. Her mother worried often and the last thing she wanted to do was cause the gentle mare to worry more.
She stood amongst the grass gazing up at the sky, watching the clouds as they slowly rolled by. It was a peaceful day, all in all... Her brothers were, most likely, off somewhere with her father... And her friends? Well, the only 'friend' that she'd made so far was Mordecai and she still hadn't been able to find the clearing where they'd met. She hoped that he was all right.
Hearing laughter her gaze lowered, searching the plains for its source. "... Mordecai?" It was worth a shot, wasn't it? She didn't remember his laugh sounding like that but maybe... Just maybe...

Wait....what was that?
Raising as brow in an almost mirrored image of his older brother, the colt shot his head up to the skies above as he could have sworn he heard a voice on the wind. Yet when was it that the wind talked in words; mostly he heard roars and whistles and those sorts of sounds. Slowing his pace some as he dropped to a trot; a few bangs fell into his eyes as he squinted against the sun.
That was when he noticed a bit of a figure up there, at first he could have sworn that was a bird but heck; that would be one hellavu big bird! Glancing around the clearing for anything that would get him higher; the colt bolted over to a particularly large boulder and hopped up ontop before looking up to the skies; hoping he was noticeable as a dark speck against the white snow.
"HELLO UP THERE!!" He bellowed as loud as his little vocal chords could manage, "ARE YOU A BIRD OR A SOQUILI!?" He grinned, hoping it was a soquili; he'd feel funny talking to a bird!

Her brow furrowed slightly as she heard the loud shouting in response to her softly spoken word of question. She held her wings carefully against her body, trotting towards the sound of the voice.
"... Who are you talking to, boy?" Her head tilted in curiosity as she looked to him. "Do be careful up there on that rock. I would ever so much hate to see you fall and get hurt. I don't know any unicorns who might be able to help you if that happened."

"Gwah!" Aiolos yelped as the voice appeared again right beside him; nearly losing his footing on the snowy boulder before catching himself before he could fall. Looking down to the strange filly before him, then back to the sky where what seemed to have actually been a very, very large bird soared away into the distance. Oh boy; did he feel a bit silly right now.
Blushing red, he smiled sheepishly to the filly before hopping down off of the rock infront of her. She was sure an interesting one at that, what with her four navy wings and strange armory! He bet she could fly oh so high with those wings that he was jealous for a moment; but knew that he was much happier with his running gifts.
"Well....in all honesty I thought I was talking to you! You were the one who called out right?" The colt smiled before giving a bit of a bow like his father taught him too; manners were always important! "Yet I think I was mistaken. Its nice that I don't have to call up to you though! Yet...Unicorns? They can heal wounds?" The colt looked astonished, eyes curiously wide - he'd not had a lot of experience with different kinds of Soquili yet; seeing as this filly was the first he'd met that had extra appendages!
"Oh! Sorry to be rude...my name is Aiolos! Can I know your name?"

"Yes..." She smiled sheepishly, eyes lowering to the ground for a moment. "I was calling for a friend of mine... But it seems as if you are the one that I was calling to, Aiolos. My name..." She glanced up to him, dark blue eyes glistening. "... Is Nyx."
She giggled, thinking back for a moment on what he'd said. "Yes... Unicorns are big, beautiful horses with horns in the center of their foreheads... Mother says that they use them to heal those who are injured."

"A friend of yours? Oh I see...well, I hope that I will do for the meantime untill you find your friend." The colt giggled merrily, flicking his tail as he shuffled around in the snow to get a better look at this filly. Boy, was she different! Then again, different didn't always mean bad; like his father had taught him well. If everyone looked like him well he'd be a nobody!
"Nyx? Wow! Thats a pretty cool name you have there!" Aiolos paused in his shuffle and looked at her wide eyed while she explained about Unicorns. "R-really? They can heal things with their horns? Wow, that sure would have come in handy when I slipped and fell..." He blushed softly, but then became a bit more serious, his eyes falling to the ground.
"Hey Nyx....can unicorns heal things that have been hurt a while ago? Like a limp leg...?"
