Once it was all over with, Layilme lay panting on the soft grass, exhausted but happy. She couldn't even imagine how that sort of thing would go with more than two cubs. Mmm ... ah well. Not the time to think about it right now. Because she and Mori currently had two lovely new little ones...
Turning head, Layilme snagged the little darker female first and cleaned her off, then did the same to her brother, who was closer in color to his mother. And then she glanced up at her mate, knowing he'd been worried for her the entire time, smiling at him. "Well ... what shall we name them?" she asked softly.

 Mor'faerion was practically beaming. Now that the ordeal was over, through which he'd hovered over his mate like the worrywart that he clearly was. Butting at her gently with his nose, he nuzzled at her ears. "Good job, my love..." He rumbled, settling down next to her, his warm body against hers on the grass.
Ah, the cubs. Peering at the wee ones, he purred at them, marveling at how tiny they were. "Names?" He hadn't really though too hard on that. "Mayhap you could name one and I the other?"

Layilme blinked at Mori and then laughed softly - typical of any male not to think of the details, really. She didn't mind though, purring back at him and nuzzling in close. "That sounds like a good idea to me..."
And she turned again to look at the cubs - now having found her belly and latched on, sucking at milk for all they were worth. "I think ... for the boy... Bahati'Farai, perhaps?" she suggested then, glancing back toward her mate.

He thought long and hard on the name for the wee female, and finally rested his head atop his mate, and smiled faintly, "And I should think...for the girl, Tapiwa...Tapiwa'Titlayo..." It was a fitting name, and it sounded musical on his tongue. "Both fine names for them..." He rumbled, eyes lidding as he seemed content to be here with his new little family.
He simply hoped that he would be able to protect them should the need arise.

Layilme purred, a happy sort of sound, and nuzzled at her mate. "I like that too... I'm sure they'll grow to be strong and wonderful..." she murmured, glancing back at the cubs.
They'd finished with her belly for the moment and were curled up together against her side, already sleeping off that first meal. It would likely be several days before they could be moved much of anywhere. But for now... this was a good enough place to stay.

"Indeed, let us hope so..." He replied, "They are already beautiful..." The male smiled widely, "just like their mother..." Yes. He knew it was cheesy and that likely most fellows said it to their mates when they became mothers, but he thought it was true all the same, and a sincere compliment never hurt anyone.
In truth, he was still worried...worried that somehow his dark legacy would follow them...or would come to haunt the cubs as they grew.

Somehow picking up on some of that worry, Layil leaned forward a bit to butt her head against the dark male's shoulder. "You'll spoil me, saying things like that," she murmured, but she was smiling - trying to distract him from whatever thoughts put that look on his face.

His smile was faint, but he nipped at her muzzle playfully, "I speak nothing but the truth, love..." Was his reply, "I just..." He knew that she was aware he was worried, "I just hope that my genes didn't do any damage, you know?" Though he rather supposed, with the proper upbringing, perhaps some tragedy could be circumvented.

Layil blinked at that, and then nipped him back - just a little harder. "Oh stop that... there's nothing at all wrong with you... and I'm sure our cubs will be just fine." Then she purred at him to soften the words, nuzzling at his cheek.
"I know that there isn't any way they could be damaged simply because you are their father... so stop worrying so much. All right..?"

Mori smiled wryly and nosed at her again, bumping his massive head against the lioness' shoulder. "Oh there's plenty wrong with me, love, but little you can't fix, I've found..." Sighing heavily, he made the wiser tactical decision and gave up the argument.
"I hope our children will be just as lucky someday as I am right now." He rather thought that he could safely call himself blessed.

Layilme purred at that, rubbing her cheek against her mate's for a moment. "I hope so too..." she murmured.
And then she shifted just a little to lay head down on paws - understandably tired now... after such an ordeal. No doubt the cubs would wake her when they were hungry again, but for now.. a nap sounded lovely.
