A black form layed there on the ground, curled up and waiting for the light of day to shine and warm his pelt. Not much later did the sun finally break through the leaves of the tropical island trees. The black creature uncurled and revealed that only his back and hind legs were black, his underbelly white and blue with a mane of dark blue, electric blue and a more normal blue in the shape of what seemed to be a heart. His face was a dark blue, with a rather bright blue colored wing pattern under his violet eyes. With a good stretch he was on his way, what exactly he was going to do he didn't know, but he had a feeling that he'd find out soon.

Loveless walked about aimlessly, her head down and dragging paws. She sighed and looked up from time to time, but only a quick glance to make sure she wasn't about to bump into anything. She closed her eyes for a minute and sighed, tired, bored, and lonely. Suddenly she tripped over something large when she got up and saw it was another lion she quickly hid behind a tee hopping he had not noticed, which she doubted. She mumbled to herself sadly, terribly shy around others, I'm so stupid sometimes...

The lion was just about to get up to take a walk when something managed to trip over him. Shocked at the sudden encounter his claws instinctively came unsheathed as he looked around for any sign of trouble. Briefly he caught a pink blur as it went behind a tree, to hide it seemed. Thinking it might be another male thinking about competing with him for something, which the lion didn't have anything to begin with but would fight nontheless, he let out a low rumbling growl. "Come out from behind there you coward! Face me like a real lion!" His voice was certainly different than other lions, charismatic and youthful with plenty of charm to spare.

Loveless yelped the tiniest bit and lowered her ears. She bit her lip, she knew she wasn't a true lion at all, just a coward, she feared of scars, like the beatings she use to receive. Loveless sighed and started to tip-toe away, hopping that he would not try and come after her. If he does than... I'll play dead? She had once played dead with her parents, they mourned for a moment, but when they realized she was faking man did they go after her.

Hmm...no one or nothing was coming out. Maybe he just thought he'd seen it? His white claws sheathed themselves as he slowly backed away, wary of the space around him. Just then he heard a twig snap and he knew there was someone there. "Who's there?!" He asked in a more demanding tone, his claws unsheathing once again. Cautiously he padded around the tree to see what, or who, it was. Slowly he saw that it was a pink lioness, a rather nice looking one too. "Oh. My apologies Madam, I thought you might be a competing male." He gave a gentleman-like bow. "My name is Iah. It means moon, and it was the name of the Egytian god of the moon." Yes, he took considerable pride in his name.

Loveless jumped a little but realized it was alright. "That's a nice name," she bowed her head, "I'm Loveless, and it means what it says...." She said a bit sheepishly. "So... you know about Egypt and stuff like that...?" Wow... what a wonderful question. She mentally sighed and lowered her ears in disappointment over herself.

"Of course I do." He really didn't, but he hated admitting it. "There's this thing they have where...no, I don't know anything." He was also pretty bad at lying and making up stories. Well, that is unless it dealt with having two or three lionesses to himself at once, he learned that from his father. "So Loveless. That's a very pretty name for such a pretty lioness."

Loveless chuckled, "thats alright, I know nothing either besides your name." She bowed her head, "thank you, it is pretty sentimental to me." She sat down and wrapped her tail around her, "but sometimes I do wish I could change it..." She mentally sighed, she needed to shut up and forget the past.

"Now why would you wish to change such a beautiful name?" He asked, padding closer to her to stand beside the pink lioness. "If it's so sentimental, I mean. It would be a shame to change it." Unless there is a bit of bad history behind it. He thought as he looked her up and down again. Yes, a very pretty lioness indeed, one of the better ones he'd seen.

"Sentimental... in the bad way I guess," she said chuckling nervously, blushing a bit. "My parents didn't name me it in good terms I mean." Ah, my parents, not the loveliest couple, nasty to one another an everyone else. But I shouldn't complain, some people have it worse. Loveless smiled, at least she was independent because of them, eveny parent gives something to their children.

"What a shame." Iah replied, knowing that she was blushing and just assuming it was because of his manly charm. "It really is a lovely name, I'd hate to think that there was some bad blood behind it." In his mind his wheels were turning, perhaps he could start his little secret affairs with this female. But then he'd have to find another one, and that wasn't going to be very hard.

"Well... there's blood involved," she pointed to her forehead. "And it wasn't all just out of shame," she pointed to her heart. "And, truthfully, Loveless doesn't seem like a very lovely name to me... Beloved is something pretty." She sighed, she was starting to ramble, it wasn't like her since she did small talk but still, she knew it wasn't fun for another lion to hear another talk on and on about nothing.

Iah shook his head. "Perhaps we should get onto a happier topic, eh?" He said with a charming smile. "Would you like to go on a walk with me and chat?" The male asked, lifting a foreleg in an invitational gesture. Loveless seemed interesting, and even though he had other females none of them were like her. He wondered if he could ever settle with just one female, old habits and all that.

Loveless nodded, "yes, a more pleasant topic would be nice..." She blushed slightly, it was rare for the other lion to ask if they could walk, usually she was the one to because she felt so confined and nervous by sitting still, "um, sure I guess..." She flicked her tail slightly, walks were pleasant, it would go well with whatever conversation they were to have next, and they helped her sort thoughts too, so she'll probably sound less stupid.

Hmmm....now for a topic of conversation. What could they talk about that was interesting? "So how well can you fly?" Well, he couldn't really think of one so he just decided that perhaps they could fly instead. It was harder to talk while flying, while at the same time he could always try to impress her with his aerial acrobatics. If not they could at least talk about it.
