Tekkianna
In case we needed to have these recorded when we tried for the hybrids, I went ahead and fished out all the HanataroxEmiko RP replies from before we started using the guild. =3

A gray arnulf wandered around an abandoned, human, city. The only thing she could hear was her feet hittinf against the cracked, stone, pathway that she walked along. Her ears twitched as a gentle breeze rolled by, carrying the smell of salt water. There was an ocean nearby that could be seen from the city. However, the arnulf's attention had not been brought to it until now. A small lighted up on her face. Her family often went here for her brother, who was rather attached to the water.

The arnulf stretched out her wings and yawned. She had come here hoping to maybe learn a bit more about humans. She had taken a deep interest in them ever since she discovered her mother's quest for wanting to be able to read.

Tekkianna
Hanataro, a black and white hebisune, peeked around the corner of a building out of the alleyway he was standing in. Once he noticed that the coast was clear, he scurried out onto the street. As he started to walk down the road, he looked down to his paws, completely missing the fact that there was another Kimera nearby. He stopped suddenly as the breeze blew by and looked in the direction it was coming from. With a nervous chuckle he said, "Gee, I didn't realize that I was so close to the shore... I didn't mean to come this far out today."

Hanatro spoke to himself sometimes to ease the near silence of the ruined city. Even being timid as he was, there was just something unsettling about complete quiet.

Stormbreaker7
Emiko blinked and turned around. "Did I just hear someone?" She looked around. "Hello!" Her voice echoed off the walls of the old buildings. Her green eyes continued to wander until she finally spotted the hebisune. She tilted her head to the side and just stared at him for a moment, debating on whether she should really be talking to him.

Her father had warned her repeatedly not to talk to anyone she didn't know without asking about them first, but her father had always been overly paranoid. Besides, she was an adult now. She could make her own choices. The old arnulf would never know. "Hey over here! I didn't think anyone else knew about this place."

Tekkianna
Hanataro nearly jumped out of his skin as Emiko's voice came out of nowhere. The hebisune spun around quickly to face the source of the voice, nearly loosing the white pack on his back in the process. He straightened the green-strapped sack and listened to her speaking, his heart still racing from the surprise.

"Er, hello there!" Hanataro raised one of his paws in a sort of wave to Emiko as he looked her over. Upon guessing that she probably wouldn't be the type to try and play some sort of trick on him, Hanataro smiled and yelled back over to her as he stepped forwards a bit.

"I didn't really know about it, to tell the truth. I kind of just wander around sometimes, not really knowing where I'm headed." He blinked once, suddenly realizing that this probably wasn't such a good idea. But that didn't matter at the current moment
.

Stormbreaker7
Emiko smiled and curiously wandered over to the other. Her eyes quickly landed onto his pack. It looked like something a human would have. "You don't know where you're headed? So you're kind of like a traveler?" She questioned, seeming very interested.

She sat down and wagged her tail like an excited little pup. "What is that thing you have there? Did you get it from a human?" She tilted her head to the side. "I came here to learn more about humans..."

Tekkianna
"No, not really. I mean, I have a home, but I just go around sometimes looking for food and things like that..." He gave another nervous chuckle as Emiko's eyes seemed to go past him and onto the white bag on his back.

The hebisune was a bit surprised to hear about Emiko's interest in humans. Hanataro, himself, thought that they were kind of interesting, even if they seemed kind of dangerous to be around.
"Actually, I can't really remember exactly where I got this thing. I think it might have been where a human used to live, but there was no one in guarding it... You want a closer look?" He slipped his arm through the strap, bowed his head, and allowed the bag to slide over his ears. Carefully sitting it down on the ground, he looked back up at Emiko with a meek smile.

Stormbreaker7
"Oh I see. You're a bit more like me then I guess. Though you probably have a bit more freedom." Her ears folded down. Her father could be so strict with all his rules and everything. Her eyes seemed to light up as the bag was placed before her. "Oh yes! Thank you!" Her ears perked up again and she curiously sniffed at it, nudging it a bit with her nose. "What's it used for do you think?" She asked. Emiko couldn't figure it out.

Tekkianna
"Well, I'm not sure if it's what it's actually meant for, but I use it to carry things around. That line there, down the middle, can open up if you pull the tab at one end down to the other." He pointed to one end of the zip-up pouch and then to the other with a little smile. "It's just a little hard to do it sometimes since the tab's so small." Hanataro blinked a few times as he stared down at the bag, and then turned his grey eyes back to Emiko.

Stormbreaker7
Emiko squinted her eyes as she spotted the small tag and tried to gently hold it with her teeth so she could pull it. It took two tries before she could hold it perfectly. She gave it a tug and opened it up. Her eyes widened and she looked to Hantaro. "Can I look inside? You don't have anything secret that I shouldn't look at in there do you? The arnulf didn't want to prey into anything she shouldn't.

Tekkianna
Hanataro shook his head vigorously and said, "N-no! I don't keep anything personal in there. It's just some herbs I found that do pretty well to help wounds heal. I use them kind of often because I'm clumsy." He gave yet another shy chuckle and nodded to the bag, welcoming the arnulf to poke around in there all she wanted. He had never specifically tried to hide his meager skills for healing from anyone before, since it was one of the few things he thought he was good at.

Stormbreaker7
Emiko smiled brightly and dug her nose into the bag until she sniffed at one herb she found interesting. She pulled it out gently and placed it on top of the sac. "What is this one called? If you don't mind me asking. I know very little about herbs, but they seem interesting. You can do so much with them these days."

Tekkianna
"Oh, I don't mind you asking. Uh..." Hanataro stared at the plant that Emiko had pulled out. His black and white tail twisted as he tried to recall the name of that particular plant. 'It's on the tip of my tongue... Aagh! I can't remember! What should I do? I know! I'll tell her what it's for!'
"Well, I can't remember what it's called... But when you tear open the stem and let the juice out on a wound, it relieves pain. And then you can use the leaf to cover the injury if it's small enough, since the juice will help it stick for a little while... Er, I'm sorry." One of his paws slid in a bit closer to him as he let out a small sigh. What kind of healer can't remember a simple name?

Stormbreaker7
Emiko shook her head quickly. "Don't be sorry! It's what it does that's important after all." She laughed a little and swished her tail from side to side. The little bit of information might be of more use to her then he might be thinking. "In fact... do you remember where you found it? I looks like something I could use at home. My brother gets into a lot a fights lately while he hunts. He's a bit of a... erm... hot head?" She couldn't think of the right word.

Tekkianna
"Yeah, I guess you're right." His large ears perked as he recieved the praise from Emiko, as he was quite relieved that she wasn't angry.
"Oh, yes! I remember that. Heh... Let's see..." Hanataro flipped his tongue out for a moment, tasting the saltiness of the air once again. Upon taking a quick look around, the hebisune nodded. "It's not that far from here, actually. I could lead you to where a pretty big patch where the plant grows." He smiled and tucked the herb back into his bag and leaned down to close it with his teeth. After working it onto his back once more, he glanced in the direction of an easy route to the place where that plant grew.
"Do you want to head there now?"

Stormbreaker7
Emiko nodded. "That would be great. I'm sure my brother and father would appreciate having that stuff around especially." Her tail wagged behind her happily. What was the big deal with talking to strangers anyway? 'Looks like dad was wrong. Hanataro is nice. I know who is okay to talk to...' She thought. "Yeah lets go. Oh, and if it isn't any trouble do you think you could teach me a little more about them? So I can use them correctly and such. But only if you want to..." The arnulf hoped she wasn't asking to much from someone she had just met. Her longing to learn was getting the best of her.

Tekkianna
Hanataro cracked a grin as he started to walk down the cracked street in the direction of the plants' location. "I can teach you anything you want, as long as I know about it myself. I don't mind at all! Like, the best way to pick them... You should pull out the whole plant if you can, and then just tear off the roots so it's easier to carry. That way, you don't have to worry about wasting any of the juice inside. If you do break it, though, you should try to carry it at an angle so none spills out. Getting home with an empty stem wouldn't help... And it would probably make someone very angry." He shuddered at the thought of this, since people that got cross with him had a tendency to use violence.

Emiko giggled a bit after hearing his last comment. "I doubt they would get angry at me. Empty or not they would probably just give me weird looks at first. My family knows very little about medicine. My dad likes to have us all very... distant." She rolled her eyes at the thought of her father. She needed to stop worrying about the family while she finally had some time to herself. "My mother might understand... " Another giggle escaped her. "Sorry, I'm sort of rambling on about that. Anyway, please go on."

(( The title seems fine to me, Storm. ^-^
I'm sorry if this reply kind of sucks. X3; I'm still trying to get back into replying to stuff. *somewhat inspired by a book she got for Xmas* >w< ))

Hanataro was actually a bit curious to hear more about Emiko's family, but figured that he shouldn't ask her about it. After all, it wasn't really any of his business. He continued on in a cheerful tone of voice, "Alright then. Uhm... You really don't need to apply much of it. Just a thin coat will do..." He stopped speaking, though his paws continued on. The hebisune looked a bit blank before turning his head towards Emiko again.
"Er, is there anything else you want to know about them?" Hanataro was a bit embarrassed that there was yet another thing he couldn't think of: what else she could possibly need to know. For now he just looked about, remembering that they would be needing to turn left and go down an alleyway in a few more paces.

(( XD Don't worry about it. It's a fine reply. <3 What book? ))

Emiko thought for a moment. Her ears folded back as she tried to consider what question would be best to ask. "Who discovered that these plants could be used for this? Were they human or kimera? Why did use this plany and why-" She stopped and shook her head quickly. All of the sudden the questions had come hurling out. "Sorry! I'm getting ahead of myself... I.. like finding out about things..." She mumbled and blushed. The arnulf seemed to of had attacked the poor hebisune in questions just a moment ago. "Anything you can tell me about them would be good," She mumbled, feeling weird about her outburst.

((Halo: Contact Harvest. Woohoo, I'm a Halo addict! X3 *pets her grunt Eevee*))

"It's okay," Hanataro chuckled with a smile. He had experienced that sort of excitement before, and so he understood it. Of course, he hardly ever did any more, since he lived on his own. But when he was being taught about healing herbs as a pup, he had been almost as enthusiastic as his arnulf friend.
"I'm not really sure who was the first to use it, but my guess is that it was a kimera. Humans use other things for healing, I think... Anyway, another healer taught me about these sorts of things, but he never mentioned the history of it. I guess it didn't seem that important to him..." Hanataro glanced down the alley before turning into it, his teeth nearly chattering. He always hated going down these dark passages, but at least he wasn't alone this time. "It's not too much further now," he commented.

(( *scurries to look up more on it* =3 Sounds interesting. ))

"I see," She said and nodded her head to what he said. She was completely focuses on his words. One could tell her questions weren't just for making conversation. Emiko loved learning about things like this. "Oh! Of course. You must of had a teacher. He must know so much. What was he like?" Her tail wagged happily behind her. Secretly she was wishing that maybe she'd get lucky and run into the kimera who taught Hanataro. Then she could have a teacher to teach her things, but it was a dream that was unlikely to be full filled.

The arnulf had been about to pop out another question when she heard Hantaro's teeth chattered. "Are you cold?" She asked, seeming a little concerned. Her eyes scanned the alleyway for a moment, trying to see if there was another reason for his teeth's chatter.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 31, 2007 6:03 pm

"No! I'm not cold." He looked down at his paws 'Just a coward.' A little sigh escaped the embarassed hebisune.
Suddenly, he realized that she had asked about the one who taught him. "He was a really nice raptor. We stayed in the basement of an old building together, and he brought a new plant home almost every day to teach me about. Later, he even showed me where to pick most of them! It was a lot easier back then..." Hanataro couldn't wipe the smile off of his face if he wanted to. For some reason, thinking about his teacher always made him happy.

Emiko smiled gently at seeing the other smile, as if smiles were contagious or something. Her tail wagged slowly behind her. "He made you happy it sounds like," She commented. Her imagination began to run around, trying to picture what this raptor looked like. The arnulf had seen raptors from a distant before when she had been flying over their packs. Her mother or someone had mentioned them being a very intelligent race. "You're lucky. I wish I could have a teacher like that. I've never meant anyone who would be willing to be a long term teacher for me though.... besides my mother anyway, but she only really focuses one reading." A sighed escaped her and she looked to what was in front of them. It seemed that there was an exit in the alley.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 05, 2008 10:14 pm

"Having a mentor was great! ... But you're lucky, too. I mean, you have a big family, don't you?" He looked ahead again to find himself out of the alley. With his sigh of relief, it was plain to see that Hanataro was happy to be out in the open again. Of course, more people could see him there, but he decided not to think about it. That would just make things worse on him, anyway.
"Reading? I... I don't know how to do that." He blinked, smile never fading from his face. "Er, you don't think that you could show me a few things about that sometime, do you?" Despite himself, he was getting his hopes up. For all he knew, today would be both the first and last time he ever saw Emiko. When would she have the time to teach him, if she even could?

Emiko looked back to the other. Her eyes lite up. Herself as teacher? Boy, she never thought she would be asked that! "Sure! I... I would like to teach. I mean... you taught me that stuff about that plant. Anytime, Hantaro... I wouldn't mind one bit. Were friends now, right?" The arnulf flashed a delighted smile to him. Her first real friend outside her crazy family. Oh how wonderful! Returning back to his comment on her family she sighed. "Yeah... I love my family bunches. I just really want to get out and meet more kimera, toy know?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 15, 2008 1:00 am

Hanataro was a bit taken aback. It had been a while since anyone called him a friend without bursting into laughter or smacking him upside the head within a few seconds. But the feeling was more than welcome. "O-of course we're friends!" he squeaked, also gladdened by this fact. His tail waved behind him as he walked alongside her.
"Yes. I know what you mean..." His last sentence was a bit distracted, however, as he had spotted something in their path. The green shoots popping out of the rocky ground were identical to the one that he had showed Emiko earlier, aside from a few leaves popping out here and there on the live ones. The hebisune gestured towards them with a paw. "Uhm... There they are. How many do you think you'll need?"

(( *looks at a typo she made in the post above* How did I type "toy" instead of "you"... <<;; ))

Emiko looked over all the plants. She took into mind how many times Taariq got into fights and sighed. "Maybe ten, but I can probably find my way back here sometime so... five?" She folded her ears down. Taking too many might be bad. It would probably seem kind of greedy to take so much at a time. She had no idea how fast these things grew... She bent her head down and sniffed at one of the plants curiously. Now how was she to carry all this back home...
PostPosted: Sun Jan 20, 2008 8:00 pm

(( *blinks* I dunno. X3 Some really wierd typos pop up sometimes, don't they? ))

Hanataro chuckled and walked over to one of the longer shoots. Emiko looked like she knew that ten would be a bit too much, so he decided not to say anything about it.
"Yes. Five sounds like a good start." He pawed at where the nearest plant had taken root, slowly loosening the ground around the roots. After it seemed to be ready to pick, Hanataro gently placed his jaws around the stem and started to pull upwards. This was always the most nerve-wracking part, since breaking the plant would basically ruin any chance of it lasting long enough to be useful. Finally, with one final tug, the thing came out without even the tiniest leak. Hanataro looked a bit surprised that his clumsiness hadn't showed itself yet, but then he looked to Emiko with another smile. "Do you want to try picking one?"

(( XD; Yes... ))

Emiko nodded her head and bent down to start plucking away at the plant. She mimiced her new friend and put her mouth around the stem gently. Slowly she tugged at it until she left it getting lose. This is here she made a mistake. The arnulf at a spark of excitement hit her as she figured that she had been successful before she was even done. Her last tug was done a bit too quick and the plant broke. She let out a panicked "eep" as she watched it fall apart n a mess. Emiko's ears folded back. "Oh no..."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2008 8:24 pm

Hanataro jumped a bit as the plant snapped in two, and flailed one of his paws in its direction. "Er, it's okay! There's plenty more! This kind of thing happens all the time." After a deep breath he looked over at the broken thing, watching the medicinal sap leak out onto the ground. If they were in a more urgent situation, he would probably be running about in circles like a decapitated chicken. However, he kept his cool for the most part, and offered Emiko a reassuring nod towards a new plant. "I'm sure you can do it... Just take it a little bit slower this time."

Emiko's ears remained folded down. She couldn't help, but feel guilty. She should of known not to get so excited so early. "O-Okay... " She stared at the remaining plants for a few moments and hesitantly put her mouth around the stem of another. Her eyes shut and she tugged gently at the plant. Gently, she continued to pull until the plant came free. The ears on her head perked up once more and she slowly pulled away and opened her eyes to see the plant safely in her mouth. So she was able to do it after all...
