Vajra's thread reminded me that I once did that for some sort of meme on LiveJournal, except it also involved showing your desks. And if you felt like it, also explain some of the stuff you have on it. I haven't slept for.. 33 hours? and I am trying to find stuff to keep me awake until after dinner at least. So, here:

(You can click on it to view it larger.)

Explanations for stuff, because doing that is fun. :Ð

1 - a mirror I got from my parents, what you see written right where the light goes whoosh! is Ég elska þig, which means I love you. You can't see the big heart right next to it. My dad wrote it years ago (with lipstick, I think), to my mum and I really liked it so I kept it. And then coloured it with acryllic colours in some very dodgy mental state. Always meant to paint it again with something a bit more fun but have never gotten around to it. Needless to say, the mirror isn't really the best mirror since you can pretty much only see your face in it, and you can't step close enough to it because there's Stuff in the way. Ahh, yes, always so practical I am.

2 - A couple of pins I have up for laughs, the one to the left is an old Spice Girls pin I found when cleaning my room, the other is a Harry Potter pin with a picture of the cover of the last book I got for being among the first in line for the last book this summer. *Nerd*

3 - This is my favourite. A small piece of paper named A short guide to Finnish swear words. My friend's boyfriend (he's Finnish) wrote it for me by request. He had a sort of a hard time with it, for which I feel bad, cause he's a faithful Mormon and doesn't like swearing too much. But it's a great list nonetheless and I always keep it up there to read and cheer me up. biggrin On the same string thing I have some photographs, some of my friends and some of old men and hot spring things. I usually have more but I recently took most of them down to scan them onto the computer.

4 - A fantastic purse thing shaped like the Yellow Submarine, with the Beatles peeking out the windows of it. I never use it since it's not very handy, but it's fun nonetheless.

5 - A Babooshka doll I got from my friend for my graduation, I think it's from Ikea. It looks silly but really lovely.

6 - Ah, the Coke cans. I think I emptied my desk of Coke cans a week ago or so, and I already have, what, eight? What can I say, I'm addicted. *Snorts* >.>

7 - A box where I keep my photography props and other silly stuff. What you can see on top there is some sort of a vampire kit I bought for Halloween because of the fangs. They were shite, but at least they weren't yellow like the last ones I had. rolleyes

8 - The Stardust audio book, read by Neil Gaiman himself. It's awesome. Neil Gaiman, read more audio books! You have the best voice everrrr!
Underneath that are some Transmetropolitan books I have yet to read and other stuff.

9 - My groovy little Holga camera. Next to it there's a black blob thing that is actually my iPod in hiding.

10 - Headphones on top, underneath that is a small notebook with a picture of Mickey Mouse, I mostly use it to collect quotes in and scribble down random stuff. Underneath that are my coursebooks for British Cultural History, I had an exam in that yesterday. So I can take them off my desk. (Yeah, whenever I can be bothered to..) Underneath that, some rad books on Christianity and homosexuality, because I was doing an essay on that. (Need to return those..)

11 - A small purse shaped like a sheep. It's all soft and fluffy and I got it from my mum. On top of it there's a chocolate Santa Claus, which I'm a little afraid of since it looks too milky for my liking.

12 - Phone. Yeeeees. It has David Bowie on its screen, for viewing pleasure.
Next to it there's another black blob that is actually the cooles watch ever. I'm afraid I don't have a picture of it, but just take my word for it.
I forgot to mark it, but if you can see right below the sheep purse's hind legs, there's a small box of Alice's Enchantmints. Awesome peppermint mints, if you bit off one side you'll grow bigger, if you bite off the other, you'll get bigger. If you swallow it whole, nothing will happen.

13 - What I spend most of my time in front of.

14 - A photograph of my late cats, one of them died when he was still quite young and the other died last year at.. 11 years old I think. Next to it there's an awesome origami thing with my name on it in kanji and.. congratulations? I can't remember, it's in Japanese. My friend did it for me for my graduation.

15 - I usually don't eat in my room, but it's exam time, so I had cookies. They were de-licious.

16 - Origami set I got this morning from my mum. : D

17 - Without doubt one of my grooviest posessions. It's an alarm clock, shaped like a mosque. Guess what the alarm sounds like. :Ð

18 - My Polaroid camera hidden behind Stuff. I need film for it, but it's Expensive here. Waaaaay expensive.

    19 - Demonic rubber duck!!

20 - One of them magic telescopes things. It's trippy, and it's fun.

21 - A box where I collect 1Ikr. coins. Smallest coin there is here, and I doubt it'll last very long now. I started collecting them in eigth grade, my friend were both going to collect them, then one day move out together and have a floor in our apartment covered with them. I had a big box full of them but it got stolen. Stupid burglars. It's not like it was much, either, they could have taken a brand new computer and it would've been just as heavy (and worth much more), but nooo... rolleyes Anyway, I started again. I don't have much, but there's no set date when I'll stop this either, so it doesn't matter.
    Behind that, Rain.

22 - My desk drawers, where I keep way too much random Stuff. They fill up every year and every year I throw away at least half of what's in them.

So, yeaaaah. That's my desk. Now it's your guys' turn. ;D
(You don't have to write such long descriptions or anything by the way. But it does make it more fun, I hope?)

Thats rather disturbing, I must say. It gives me the overwhelming urge to organize.

I don't have a fancy new-fangled camera, but I can do THIS:

1. Computer
2. Lamp
3. Wunna those little waving kitties you always see in asian restaraunts.
4. Stack of (note)books and the like.
5. Tiny notebook upon which I write things.
6. Clock
7. A little pot I got in Mexico with a 10 peso bill rolled up in it where I keep my pencils.
8. Mouse y pad de mouse.
9. Phone
10. Pocketknife
11. Wallet
12. Usually a can o' Dr.Pepper, or various other beverage.

So.. organized.. my mum would love you.

I don't have any room for most of my stuff, so I keep it on my desk, because it's big. A bit of it under the desk, too, but that's not as much as on it. My mum can't stand it but I don't mind too much, as long as there's room to put my feet on it. :3

I'm a neat freak.
This is the desk at my old room, at my parents'. They didn't make any use of my room after I left, and I come over pretty often, so it's still there.
Not too much to tell really...

There's this little map I bought after taking a theoretical driving test a few years ago and feeling I totally blew it. It cheered me up.

A black ugly CD... bag. Yes, I still use a CD-player. XP

A basket with dried flowers... I'm such a broad, damn it.

As for the chair - It's an old chair I worked on improving - I took this picture before it had padding. I didn't really use it then... Just wanted to see what it would look like.

That cup on top of the computer was made for me by a friend for my 19th birthday. It says, "RPG is when the voices inside your head come out and play".

I don't remember much about this clock. But it's pretty...

photo 1: my laptop and my mouse, bottle cap, tweezers, pen cap, and an old plug that came off my headphones. There's also a coloured pencil that you can't see.

Photo 2: That's my desktop screen. To the right of the photo is the computer and a printer. theres some photos, notebooks and binders, some. . . things that might have come off the radiator, my broken gameboy, a picture from my middle school graduation, I think thats a pencil, some cds, kanji dictionary, The Hobbit, flash cards from my french book, a box from japan, some random papers, some more random papers, a watch and a porcelain doll that I inherited from my great grandma, a soda bottle that I should probably throw away before some bacteria start growing since for some reason my dad won't let me grow bacteria, and probably some other stuff I forgot.

It's all organized I swear. I don't have an actual desk because my dad stole it. He stole my bookshelves too and my dresser is broken so I don't really have any furniture. I have some driftwood though.

I love your birds! I've always wanted a bird, but my parents have never let me have one.

It is rather reasonable, there is much mess because of birds... My motherboard burnt recently because of their feathers sad ((
But nevertheless I love them very much )))
