She, herself, did not. Despite how she had been taught she was food, that death was her only friend, she had since learned it was not. Perhaps not by the few equines she had already met, but from watching them and how they had not threatened her, beaten her, chased her... or snapped at her, with fangs glistening razor-sharp. She did not see bright red eyes that reflected her own scarlet blood so well... though she had met plenty of Soquili so far that had frightened her well and good. Especially that winged stallion... Notos. He was most certainly a handsome one, full of himself, but he would not catch her off guard again as before.
Determined to try and be less scared and skittery, she willed herself to stop jumping at shadows that continuously flickered about during daylight hours. The forest was her home; no one could hurt her here, and should they try, she was was difficult to grasp as smoke, yet easy to see as the sweet, delicious grass. She had her tricks; she learned them from the best, after all.

 The occasional snowflake fell down, but it had always melted within seconds of it's descent. Although it was the season of snow, it had seemed that the sun had refused to withdraw, leaving it a brilliantly sunny day. However, it did not dismiss the chilly winds that blew over the land. Helios, feeling his mane ruffle slightly, had a warm smile on his face. The friend that he had met earlier, Dorian, was it? He was quite an enjoyable company to remain in.
Stepping onto the worn path of the forest, he felt his hooves sink into the soft dirt, and then his red eyes sweeping their surroundings. Although Helios did not see anyone, he felt another presence aside from him. He quirked an eyebrow, looking closer at what little view the trees afforded him. By now, he could have assumed that the presence did not necessarily mean danger. If it had, then would it not have struck him by now? "Who is there, if I may ask?" He called out, his voice soft, but clearly audible. "Helios? Is something the matter?" A white feline slinked out from between his legs, staring curiously at the stallion. His body grew rigid, as he had realized that they werent the only ones around. So, he had felt it too? Giving Artemis a relaxed smile, he said "Calm down. If it was hostile, we would have already been attacked. Its most likely another soquili, or something of equal size."

She grew stiff as voices floated towards her. She had been spotted...? No, just sensed. How was that possible? She... N'rai stopped herself before she could scared herself witless and tried to figure out how to best avoid any conflicts. She had always been good at that, but lately it seemed it was her fate with this new land she had unwittingly--but luckily--stumbled upon. She turned to face the sounds of the voices as she carefully made her way around, trying to be as discreet as possible. It could, after all, be a predator who had sensed her and was just pretending to be a friendly persona.
As she approached, however, she caught a whiff of the familiar scent of assuredly a lion. Forcing herself not to whinny and dash away in panic, she continued forward, having also caught the scent of another like herself... and decidedly male. Wondering who she had run into this time, she knew it was neither Notos nor Ramus this time around. The feel of the atmosphere wasn't threatening or foreboding, though, and she pressed onward. As she neared an opening among the trees, she saw a flash of white, and paused. Brightness... was she going to run into another of the ones who ruled the skies... much like Notos? She didn't know... and so she paused before she fully exposed herself, procrastinating that she might taint the presence of one who took to the skies.

Artemis, paused to a still as he heard the sounds of an approaching creature. They had no intention of meeting up with the one they had sensed, but it would've been terribly rude to leave. Nodding in confirmation with the stallion, they waited for the entrance of the one that was to come.
Helios tilted his head, catching a glimmer of red in the darkness. It was hard to discern, but perhaps they were in the shadows? "It's all right to come out." he called, tucking his wing into his sides. "We wont hurt you, unless you have intentions of doing so first?" he had said that, but the air surrounding the area remained clam. There was no hint of blood lust, or harmful intentions as far as Helios was aware of. It could be confirmed that their visitor was decidedly a soquili, but the question was, what type? After all, Helios had no wish to have a run in with a Kalona or rumored skin walker.
Artemis looked ready to pounce on the intruder, the silence causing him to become tense. Helios shook his head slowly, as to signal to Artemis, no. It would do no good to scare off the visitor, especially as if they seemed reluctant to show themself. "Again, we have no hostile feelings. If you'd like us to leave, we could."
