I've been messing around with ideas for a sequel to the game "Chrono Trigger". So far, I have almost every resource neccessary, including maps (to copy), chipsets, charsets, and everything else, but I'm figuring out exactly what to do for a story. There's a possibilty that two characters from CT that were not PC's may be featured as playables now. (Atropos and Schala.) I'm doing this in 2k3, and unfortuantely, I'll be using it's battle system unless I can get the sprites for a CBS. However, I want to copy as many elements from the original CT as I can, and hopefully add some new ones. When I have info or screens, I'll be sure to post them. ^_^

Actually, neither have I... sweatdrop
I read the endings on gamefaqs. I don't know if I'll ever beat Lavos. Here's why. Game's HP limit is 999. My health with Chrono: 999. Everyone else's less. Lavos core attacks for: 980 AT LEAST, and usually twice per turn. eek
I'm trying to copy the world map... it's taken me the last 20 minutes just to begin to make the freaking outside of the sun keep right lol.

BTW, would anyone like me to post the battle/chara sheets I'm using? Most of them can be found on Charas Project, except for the Atropos ones, which I just put togtether today. (Sprites are not mine.)

Hm, I guess if you want you can put a link to the original page you got them from if you want.
And that looks awesome, by the way. Much better than the original in my humble opinion. I can't wait to see more of this!

Hmm..Chrono Trigger..great game. Be great to see a fan game of it like you're making. If you could change the battle system though to the ATB like it was in Chrono Trigger that'd be even better.

If I could, I probably would, despite how insanely hard it would be do so. The thing is, I already have the sprites for the side view battle style. Though what I might do is get the full sheets, and instead of having them all in a row, is have them spread out across the screen. However, you never know...
Anyways, more screens when I have them. When the intro's done, I'll probably post a demo.

I'm finally beginning to get a story for this game, but I need a real title. Chrono Trigger 2 sounds pretty lame.
Here's what I have so far: (This is more like a rundown on the first few minutes of what I'm hoping will be the gameplay.)
It starts out showing a tiny video which is an edit of the PSOne CT opening... it's just the very first part with an inserted title. When I get a title I'll add it to the game. After that it shows 3 or four flashback scenes.
First, it shows a part of the beginning of CT, where Crono's mom is attempting to get him up. Secondly, it shows Crono going after Marle who's dissapeared in the telepod. Thirdly, I think I may show them finding the Epoch. Lastly, it's going to show what I hope is the scene where Magus decides to fight Lavos alone, and the others assemble at the end of time to go back to their respective times, with one exception. Robo goes with Lucca. The screen pans into a back and forth fight between Magus and Lavos (CPU controlled) and then fades out with the sounds of battle. Then it shows Crono's mom waking him once again, because he has a guest. He goes downstairs to see Marle, and the two go to the Millenial fair. (In my game it will have lasted 7 days, this being the final day. Lucca's repaired her telepod and is showing it off until a certain someone appears on one of the telepods, that someone being Schala...
This is as much as I have so far... hopefully I'll come up with some more. I think Schala's purpose at the moment will be something to do with Magus being thrown through time after defeating Lavos.
Anyways, does the story sound okay? Or should I rethink some of this?

I'm Back, people. Emorhys, if you can't say anything even remotely positive, then don't bother posting in my topic. Please. I'm not trying to be rude but I don't need that.
I'm changing the storyline a little, though the flashback part will remain the same. I'm not 100% sure of how I'm going to execute my idea, but when I figure it out I'll post such. Unfortunately... a demo seems distant. But I will TRY for it as soon as possible.
