With the shoreline well behind him, the scent of salt finally out of the air, and a female beside him, Kimeti's spirits had finally began to rise. Despite his caution to grow too friendly with Kamaria, he found her presence quite comforting and not so lonely. It was a nice change of pace and the bulky lion was enjoying the change.

The sky overhead was a clear blue with a few stray slouds flecked here and there. It was an overly nice day and the warmth from the sun had taken whatever chill was left in his body from th enight before. Without a warm den to sleep in the nights were cold. It was rare that the lion ever found a den to slumber in an dnow with a female with him, his old ways were poking through his usually unhappy demeanor. He found himself wanting to do thing to make sure Kamaria was comfortable. It had been something he had done for every female he met or encountered before departing from his pride, family and loved one.

No! He wouldn't think of her. That was the last hting he needed and each time his mind drifted to her his new found happiness would ebb away into that bitter sadness. He didn't need that anymore. It was time to move on and let others in and it wouldn't happen if he kept moping on about her.

Afterall, he no longer was roaming the rogue lands alone and that in itself was enough to raise his spirits. Turning to Kamaria, Roho smiled. "Are you hungry? I am sure we could find something to eat around here."

Although Kamaria had a slight limp to her walk, she seemed to travel alongside Roho with more ease. Her limp did not hold her back and she felt as though she was gaining strength in her legs. She found herself still filled with negative thoughts from the attack, but was able to push them aside more easily. Roho had helped more in the few days he had spent with Kamaria than Kamaria had been able to do for herself during her weeks alone.

And now that she had found Senatla, she found that she was able to share different thoughts and feelings. Kamaria had opened up in different ways to the two of them and found that each lion had their own strengths and weaknesses. They were each able to balance out one another and this was the greatest sense of family Kamaria had ever had since the passing of her mother.

When Roho asked her whether or not she was hungry, Kamaria was shaken from her thoughts. Returning the smile, Kamaria nodded, "That would be lovely.. It's been awhile since i've eaten last." Thinking of hunting reminded Kamaria of how Senatla told her that she was a skilled huntress. Glancing over towards their deep red colored friend, Kamaria offerd yet another smile, "Care to show off your hunting abilities?"

Senalta followed behind her traveling companions, the distance was just a few paces. She truly loved having these two as companions, but had some shyness issues that were not going away over night. Looking up to Roho, whom she had not gotten to know very well at all, she listened to what he had to say. Food she could do, she had learned to hunt and gotten even better with the practices she had with the lionesses she had crossed paths with in the past.

It wasn't until Kamaria spoke that she stepped up and got in pace with other two. The lioness had a knack for really making her feel a part of the little group. Senatla had not worked too hard because she didn’t know how, yet, Kamaria either sensed or was just naturally one to include others and was fixing that problem. "I'd be happy to," With Kamaria hurt, she didin't believe that she should be on the hunt but there was another there. What a male could do, she didn't know but it was worht a shot. Since he brought it up, she asked him, "Any ideas? I believe there is a season for a couple good herds around here." Not sure how to talk to him, she was probably coming off as a bit stand-offish but it wasn't done on purpose.

Roho glanced back to their new companion. He had almost forgotten she was along. Senatla was a sweet lioness and Roho had nothing agianst her. Kamaria had introduced them after she stumbled across the red-hued lioness and informed Roho that she would be joining them on the wanderings. Roho had been a bit surprised by this and had withdrawna little. Not only would he be traveling with one female but two. It had all seemed a little much at first, but Senatla turned out to be quite the quiet one and with no intent to hurt her, he sometimes forgot she trailed along with them.

It was a good thing too that she was along. Taking down a beast for only himself wasn't too hard of a task, but taking something down that was large enough to feed two had proved to be a challenge. True, now they needed to hunt for three, but having another to help with the hunt since Kamaria was still not able too, would help with catching something a bit larger. "I believe there should be some antelope or zebra around. If we manuver ourselves right was may be able to catch ourselves something half decent in size."

((Kolina, that is a beautiful banner for Roho! He looks so handsome on it! May I ask who had it done? <3))

Kamaria could tell that Senatla was still rather shy with the two of them, but understood that whatever the younger lioness had faced in the past could have very well have made her that way. While Kamaria was opening up and recognising her old self in her actions, she also knew that she had become more reserved and reluctant to simply trust. Senatla and Roho, however, had brought something entirely new to her life: friendship.

When Senatla turned to Roho to talk about hunting, Kamaria furrowed a brow and dived into their conversation. "Don't think that these wounds can keep me from tagging along! I may be slow, but I am sure I can help corner some prey beast into a trap?" Kamaria was grinning broadly, as though she appreciated the challenge. Afterall, her wounds had only healed further as she travelled and continued to exercise them. Perhaps all she needed was to remind her legs that they were still needed.

As she awaited a response from her friends, Kamaria looked over the two of them. As she had expected, Roho and Senatla hadn't hit it off incredibly well. It was clearly not because either of them were bothered by the other, but simply because they were new. This did not surprise Kamaria because she remembered meeting both of them for the first time. Such awkward first encounters.

Her ears swiveled as she thought about what Roho had said. Both preys were tricky and dangerous but were great choices. "My personal preference would be on the zebra, their kicks may be deadly, but the risk is worth it. There is a lot of animal and should be enough to feed all of us." Glancing at the large black manned male, she weighed the new element. For the most part, males were stronger and heavier, that could be used to the greatest advantage in a hunt like this.

Planning it out, she saw the opportunity if only she could herd the prey towards him; he'd have the best chance of snagging one. Kamaira threw in the danger of her getting hurt. Being injured already, Senatla didn't want to risk her friend getting worse. This was her first true feeling of having a place to belong with them, if something happened to Kamaria it might all fall apart, and she’d miss the older lioness.

Finally, the young huntress had her idea, "Alright Kamaria, Roho, here is my plan. First we needed to find the prey and seek out any natural barriers that we can use, such as an outcropping of rocks that could make a great trap point. If not, then you and Kamaria could make a great ambush team. I'll run into the herd and startle them, than it is only a matter of herding them towards the two of you. Kamaria can startle the ones that are going the wrong way towards you, Roho, and you can grab the one that gets close enough." After that if he didn't kill it soon enough, she and Kamaria could finish the job. How they would split up the meal after that, she wasn't sure. She'd agree on Kamaria eating first since she is injured and needs as much as she can get food wise for her strength.

It was a bridge she'd cross when they got there if someone didn't try first.

((It's a banner I made for him quite a long time ago. XD All of my SoA have similar banners with their own unique wordings and banner colors/patterns.))

Roho nodded. "It'll be a bit harder to bring down considering they're so much larger." He made comment to her choice. It was a good one, but would certainly put the trio's hunting abilities to the test. The red-hued lioness was right though. A zebra would be able to fill all three of them and maybe even have left over if they could keep a pack of hyena's or a larger group of lions getting to it first.

Roho looked to Kamaria as she lioness voiced her opinion on joining the two of them on a hunt. He wasn't all that keen with that idea, but before he could make his opinion known Senatla spoke up first. He listened tot he lionesses plan and it all made sense. It would just be a game of sorts to find the right zebra to bring down and the most efficent way. Hopefully the Gods would be on their side and they'd come ot lucky. "I should be able to pull one down if I manage to get it around the neck. I've found that to be one of the most efficent ways to bring a Zebra down, but most certainly not the easiest. With three of us though it might just be possible." He turned to Kamaria. "I want you to be careful thoguh. The last thing we need is you hurting yourself more. You're only finally getting back into good health."

He looked out and around them hoping to find some sign of prey. "Now our first task is to find a herd. It shouldn't be too hard to find them. I just hope they aren't too far from us."

((Aw! Do you think you might be able to make me something for my SoA? I could pay you of course and totally understand if you're too busy!))

Kamaria's mouth began to salivate as Senatla voiced her preference for the zebra. It had been such a long time since she had eaten anything much larger than a young antelope. In the roguelands, she remained well fed because of her ability to hunt, but even with great talent, a single lion would not be able to take down large prey beasts. In their fragile state as a rogue, it could be incredibly deadly.

Shaking the thought from her mind, Kamaria found that she was determined. Injured or not, she would not allow her friends to hunt without her. If she did not participate, she would feel as though she was not worthy of the food. Opening her mouth to speak and offer some sort of plan, Kamaria was surprised when the typically quiet Senatla explained a very elaborate and interesting plan. Cornering the beasts would be their best method and because Kamaria was still hurt, she could not be the one to take them down. The leopard colored lioness did not expect to know all of Senatla already, but she still found herself surprised.

Once Senatla had finished, Kamaria prepared to speak again and found that Roho had much more to add to it. With a blush to her cheeks, the lioness lowered her ears as she was warned to be careful. The group was still new and yet already it appeared as though a deep bond was forming. Snapping in to the conversation, as though she couldn't remain quiet any longer, Kamaria spoke, "I promise! I promise! I'll be careful." She let out a light laugh and smiled. It was rather comforting to know that they cared about her.

Adjusting her posture and beginning in a potential direction, Kamaria looked back towards her friends and spoke, "Come on! At this rate, we'll never be fed!"

Oh, she knew it was ambitious to try and take down a zebra, but it would be soo worth it. Just seeing the expressions on her companion's faces was enough to tell her they thought so as well. Nodding her reddish brown head, she showed her faith in him being able to take the beast down, "Exactly, you'll be able to hold it, if not kill it out right, until we get there." The heavier lion should be enough, she thought, to hold a beast like the meal they were talking to. She had a lot of faith in that and was not very worried about their chance for a meal being lost.

With Kamaira's safety being brought up, she turned her violate eyes to the like-eyed lioness to see her response. Reassured a bit by her answer, she hoped her plan would leave the lioness plenty safe. She'd put her near Roho, he'd protect her if it came to that.

Ears swiveled back towards Kamaria when she told them to getty up and go. Smiling, she chuckled lightly and pulled herself to all four paws and took off after the wounded leopard-printed lioness. She pushed herself a little further ahead and scented the air, hot and dusty, for the heady scent of food.

Roho nodded at Kamaria as the lioness proclaimed she'd be careful. He wasn't completely sure he trusted her on that, after seeing how eagerly she wanted to help, but she now he'd simply accept her words. It wasn't that he didn't...trust her...it was just his inability to trust completely. That had been something he had learned the night his loved one turned away form him and to his brother. Nothing anyone said could be completely trustworthy.

At the mention of getting started, Roho turned his attention from the two lionesses and lifted his head slightly to try and catch the scent of a nearby herd. Shaking his head the lion huffed slightly as a weak smell of prey floated through the breeze. It seemed that there wasn't a herd particularly close but one close enough that it's scent wasn't completely lost in the wind. Glancing to Senatla and Kamaria Roho spoke, "Seems we have a bit of a travel ahead of us, but nothing too strenuous. We should find them soon enough as long as we don't get distracted or sidetracked." He flicked his tail to rid himself of some pesky flie that dare try to n** at him as he glanced back in the direction they were headed. "The sooner we get going the sooner we can eat." He smiled lightly at the girls.

By everyone's enthusiatic responses to the plan, it was clear that they were all eager to take down the prey beast. Smiling now and feeling an inner strength in her legs, Kamaria pushed forward, keeping a decent pace alongside Roho and Senatla. They could pass her up if they chose, but when either of them went ahead of her, she further forced herself to speed up. If they had a distance ahead of them, they could not go at the pace she had been leading them originally. There were plenty of other rogue lions in the savanna that could have been closer to the herd that they caught wind of.

As they continued to run towards the animals, their scent became stronger and clear to Kamaria. She was beginning to feel an ache in her back legs, but the zebra's scent was enough to force her on. Breathing more heavily, the lioness glanced towards her two companions. "It seems like we're close enough to put our plan into action.. Senatla, when you're ready, you can chase them towards Roho and I will accompany Roho. I can help direct it towards him to take it down.." Despite Kamaria's enthusiasm, she was tired already. She would not allow that to foil their plans.

Senatla looked to Roho when he spoke, but soon turned her ever searching violate eyes forward. Scenting for the zebras they decided to go ahead and try for. Not used to hunting in a group, she had practice but nothing steady nor with this many lions, she was overly watchful of her companions.

It got to the point she was glancing over at the two more than watching where she was walking. At one point, she stepped into a hole for some sort of creature, rabbit or merekat probably, and went up to her elbow, she stumbled because of it. Catching herself, she got right back up and trotted ahead of the other two acting all 'cool' about as if it never happened. Her pride was a bit bruised but she was trying to play it off.

Her efforts did tell her something key, Kumaria was weakening. Now she was very glad she had the speed and the herding skills to do the job that would be so much easier with the both of them. Stopping on an old termite mound, she gazed at the large, very healthy herd. This was not going to be easy and normally she would never try for something this big, but this wasn't normal, yet.

Looking back, she says, "Alright, it is going to take me a bit to get far enough to the side to be able to charge right back in. We can use this mound. Kumaria, why don't you wait on the shadow of the mound and, Roho, move to the right of the mound and find a place you feel comfortable. As I drive them to this area, I need you, Kumaria, to come to the top and roar or snarl or whatever you please, it will scare the beasts to split and if we do it right, we can get a few good ones to go to Roho for the finish." She might have suggested Roho try the leopard's tactic, however, there were two reasons why she wouldn't. One, the mound wasn't big enough to hide him until the right moment and second, this would keep Kumaria safest as she could be with a heard of zebra thundering with deadly hooves, bad bites and surly attitude on being dinner.

Roho was so use to taking prey down on his own, but whatever he took down was always smaller, and less dangerous than their current target.Taking Sentala's directions was of no problem to the large lion. Giving the red-hued lioness a nod, Roho moved toward the mound. Making sure to get a good position where the zebra wouldn't see his big bulky form, he made sure to hide in the shadow of the mound which happened to be on the right side. Perfect for jumping out and taking their prey by surprise.

((Heh, sorry for short post. XD I've been rather busy lately and I don't want to hold up the RP any longer))

When Kamaria noticed that Senatla stumbled into the hole, she became nervous. Since her attack, she felt as though she was slowly them down. If her friend become hurt as well, the three of them would have a difficult time feeding all of their empty stomachs. When Senatla bounced from the hole and kept walking, however, Kamaria smirked and remained silent.

As they reached the large mound, Kamaria listened to Senatla's finished plan and smiled. "That sounds perfect.. Now lets get on it.. I can feel my stomach growling.." Kamaria continued to smile as she spoke. She was not angry, but eager and excited to see the results of their plan. This was their first group hunt and she was confident that they would succeed.

After she spoke, she ducked down below the mound, attempting to keep her small form well hidden from the herd animals. Glancing over to Roho, she was glad to see that he was preparing for his part of the attack as well. Once Kamaria was settled, she whispered towards Senatla, "I'm ready when you are.."

Senatla smiled and nodded turning and slinking off. Low to the ground, her reddish-brown coat was less noticeable, and the silent padding barely making a sound. The herd ate and moved, snorting and hoofing about. The stallion was on alert, of course, but most of the herd was ignorant of the danger approaching.

The young huntress kept on her wide walk around. Unfortunately, she was not a master, as she believes herself to be, and stepped on a dry twig. With a silent curse, she watched every head raise up and every ear forward. She couldn't fail she told herself, panicking, she was practically shaking. Had she failed herself, it would be no big deal, but there were two others, she could not fail!

Desperate and scared, she charged head long into the herd, sending the skittish mares running and the stallion rearing. As she darted to control the herd, she made a bold move to run under the stallion. Mere inches separated the lioness from a broken back or worse. Unwilling to fail, unwilling to allow the two that let her travel with them to die, she pushed herself harder then she would have normally.

It paid off; the mares ran where they were supposed to, towards the rock and the waiting lion and lioness. With a stallion hot on her heals, she pushed, roaring and growling at the mares to keep them moving. Dodging the stallion behind her, she could only hope the appeared of the other lions would help to turn the stallion. As it stood, she'd be too tired to eat right away should the meal be caught, good thing she was not alone else she stood to lose a meal to anything predator.
