Whew, I'm awake now. I decided I would get to telling you guys all about the show, which was beautiful, by the way. wink Everyone's at school, unlike me, so I kind of wrote a lot. O_o; Don't feel the need to read everything, I'm fine with skimming. :3
Well, if you've read concert stories from me before, usually I'm with my best friend Ailey, but unfortunately she was unable to make it this time, so I was all by myself.
Having attended 3 KoRn concerts, all at the Joint, it was very different to be going to the House of Blues. Unlike the rich kids I know, I can only attend concerts maybe once or twice a year, and I usually "save" those chances for KoRn. So the place was very new to me. When I got there, I passed by sH3LLz who was sitting in a gambling machine (not playing of course) and I got in line.
Luckily for me, one of the scanning lines opened up right next to me, so I got in the merch area quickly with the $50 dollars I saved up from my lunch money (which is only about a dollar a day, how I did it, I'll never know). The Alone I Play DVD/CD was available via combo, so I had to get something with it. They had a very sexual =-> beanie, but I liked the shirt better. I got copy 94 something out of the 1200 in the world of the Alone I Play DVD/CD, before heading inside the House.
It was very different. Even though I don't attend concerts very much at all, I could just tell. The floor (or where mosh pits should be) was filled with rows of black, plastic fold-in chairs. I asked a guy where my seat was, and he led me right up to the front, a little off to side. I sat there and found it funny that every time I saw KoRn I was off to the same exact side, but I had no complaints because I had a clear view of where Mr. Davis would be playing, and the giant =-> logo across the back stage wall.
I sat there, a little daunted by some song they were playing on the radio that kept repeating "I wish you were here" as I looked at the empty seat next to me. Ailey was the only thing missing from the show.
I saw sH3LLz. Her seat was in the middle, but way further back. She got up to go to the bar and that's when I saw 3 idiotic KoRn sheep flocking their way in. I knew them because one of them was my ex, (who, by the way, cheated on me with a kalikunt)and his little brother, and his friend, an ex of a good friend of mine. They were all under 16, but their rich mommy got them in and bought them everything from the merch store as well. I tried to let it pass. I was pissed because I felt there were so much more deserving people that could have been there besides THEM, like Ailey, Jake, Irene...anyone ever feel that way?
Anyways, getting on with this (sorry everything I write has to be a novel x_x wink : Godhead came on, and they were pretty good, but most of their stuff kind of sounded the same, but it passed time. They often reminded us to go buy their Unplugged CD, like after every song. razz
After them, I spotted sH3LLz going back to the bar again, so I decided to go say "Hi" and in my pursuit I bumped into my ex. He said something non-sensible to me, but I didn't want to be a b***h or fight or anything. For some reason, I have a hard time showing someone that I don't want anything to do with them. I try, I think of every thing I could say, but I can never just be like "******** off". I hate myself for it. I looked at his shirt for a while, the same as mine, thinking about how easy it must have been for him to ask his mommy to pay for it. He eyed my DVD and said he bought it for his friend. (Oh, thanks for telling me, you retarded a*****e. Maybe I can come over one day and jack the DVD and send it to Irene, someone who would treasure it more than you ever could?)
Anyways, I kind of left him jabbering to go see sH3LLz. We talked for a few seconds, really. She can get really distracted. The lights went dark and I went back to my seat for Shenkar. He was...different. But I found him very charming in his performance, and I couldn't help but smile. There were times he would sing really high pitched, and be a bit off, but he did his thing and was cool with it, and wasn't a subject to a bottle like at other shows. Thankfully the Las Vegas crowd was pretty respectful.
After him, I waited in my seat about 20 minutes (seemed like 40) watching the crew bring out Jonathan's throne. I gave a cheer; the throne is just as symbolic as his microphone, afterall.
Quickly, everything went dark again, and the beginning intro of "System" began, the exact intro I heard on a bootleg video from KoRnSpace that had inspired me, and motivated me to ******** GET TO THIS SHOW. I was so happy, and I just ******** forgot everything: worries, troubles, people...everything. Jonathan came out in his suit, and took his throne, and removed the top of his suit off, (gyrating for us as well ;D) and began to sing. It sounded great, and it was really hard to stay sitting. After came "Last Legal Drug", in which Jonathan imitated having orgasms in his chair...I didn't blink not once. I'm not one to be all about KoRn's "looks" rather than their music, but goddamn Jonathan is ******** sexy as Hell. There's nothing in this entire planet ********, it was hot! >w<
(EDIT 2/26/11: I'm re-reading this nearly 4 years later and LOLing at how retarded I was.)
Heh. ANYWAYS. "4U" began, and I pointed right back at him when "I could have never lived if it wasn't for you" was sang. I almost cried. It was my first time getting a live performance of that song, and I was very happy.
Wow, I'm writing so much!! Ahg, I need to shorten this a bit. The rest of the show was fantastic, and very inspiring. I'll give you guys a real example: when I walked in there, I was and have been planning to quit my orchestra at school. I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate everything we do!!! The songs suck, the people suck, and my part sucks, and I suck. I just HATE it. I'm in second violin, and there's nothing worse than that. We get funky harmonies, and chopped-up-thrown-up pieces of the melody once in a blue moon, and it just sucks, and everyone plays better than me and everything. But when I saw Loc come out and bring Jonathan Davis a violin to play before "Careless", I was on the edge of my seat. I watched everything Jonathan did. Miles Mosely, (contrabass), Shenkar, and Jonathan all began playing some ******** cool s**t! There's no way I can describe it. It gave me chills. And I noticed, Jonathan was playing what could probably be called the second violin part, where as Shenkar went off doing his crazy s**t, the first violin part. I don't know...it was just really inspiring, and I decided I'll just stick with orchestra, and just have fun with my own part, and somehow make it work, (even though it's my firm belief that 2nd violin parts are pointless and do not contribute to anything in a large orchestra (unlike Jon, Shenkar, and Miles' work), and when I rule to world, all second voilin parts will be distroyed and if anyone writes one, they will be shipped to Antartica to have their eyes pecked out by rabid penguins).
Something a rip doesn't really cover of a show is the side gags, the things Jonathan tells us, and the things that happen in between the setlist. Jon joked with us a lot, and was very happy and told us we were one of his best crowds. There was this battle of the bands type thing between Miles and Shane, and I hate to say it but Miles pretty much OWND Shane. Jonathan went on to introduce everyone in the band, and even Richard Gibbs who was standing next to Deven, who I had noticed earlier when Jonathan had been looking at the crowd for a while. He finally turned to look up, and Deven waved at him frantically and he smiled huge and was like, "There's my wife! :] I wouldn't be here without her. :3" And I was like "awwww". He also told us she was another reason the tour went so well because she apparently "kicked my a** to go to rehearsals", so whoo Deven! ^-^
"Falling Away From Me" the second-to-last song of the night, and it had everyone going. It was perfect, and it was one of my favorites. After it, Jonathan gave us a big insight into his teenage life, telling us about his experience of loving Duran Duran and being called a faget for it, but how sticking to his opinion and not changing for anyone and be himself made him who he was today. There was a big applause, and "The Chauffer" began and ended beautifully.
I had a great great great great great ******** GREAT time, even though I was on my own. After Jon walked backstage I knew I probably wouldn't see him right in front of me again until 2009, so I charished every milli-second of the show and walked out of there content, not even affected by my sheepy ex who informed me he caught Jonathan's towel. (Oh, now I have two things to steal from you and send from Irene. Thanks for telling me, jackass. Now go play in traffic.)
I wanted to follow sH3LLz, maybe see if I would have that chance to meet Jonathan...
...but she seemed really distracted and I felt a distance between us, so I kind of slinked away. I told her "goodbye" but she probably didn't hear me. I figured whatever and called my ride and headed on home.
The show was perfect and amazing, and Jonathan told us he would definitely do this again, so that'll give anyone who missed this tour a chance to, as Jon puts it, "See you next time!"

OH MY GOD! I've just woken up and whilst I'm reading that, I'm both tearful and happy at the same time xD. Hehe I enjoyed reading this review more than the one on Kornspace (even though, if you posted it there, no one would know what you were talking about since they probably don't really know Jake or I). Too bad Ailey, Jake or I couldn't be there with you - but surely, you being there is like REPRESENTIN' us; I literally do feel happy that you got to experience that show, it's like being intimate with a GOD (it IS being intimate with a god!). Hey one day, we'll all unite for a show or two biggrin
It's so cool how you got to witness Jonathan play the violin, and the effect his actions had on you. That's just SPECIAL - I don't think there are any other words to describe it, except for uberly special. And AWWW Deven was there! I wanna meet her and give her a big hug and say 'thanks for giving our Jonathan the happiness he's always wanted'!
Anyhoo, your ex does seem a tad annoying and thankyou so much for considering stealing from thie Korn sheep to send it to me ^_^. Daaamn, I would cherish that DVD and towel, I'd probably worship it and prize it over any possession. But ah well, fate is fate. At least we all know who some of the real Korn fans are - many of whom are members of this guild.
Argh I've typed to much and I still have to get dressed and eat something, goin' on a roadtrip soon (and I'll deidcate it to you!). Hopefully we don't get lost xD. ARGH my cat scared me by jumping out of nowhere.
Talk to ya again soon biggrin

Aww, I love you all. x3
Hopefully by the next time KoRn or Jon comes around with some special thingy, I'll have a job and money, and I'll buy for all of you guys. Or even better, we can do what Irene suggested and all attend a show. That would be the ULTIMATE thing I'd love to do in the following years of life. ^^
As for the sheep, Karma's usually very sweet to me, and though it may take her a while, I'm content knowing she'll take care of those assholes sooner or later.
