"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Leadstone for a clan meeting!." Silverstar meowed voice ringing through the camp. she stared down at her leader retired leader. he's dead.... she thought, ...that Deventheart and Brokentail, and the bad thing is that they have kits that are still alive.! she thought. " Nightstar of Swampclan has chased away Brokenclaw and he is dead. as well as Deventheart. Im still leader, but our retired leader is dead." she said sadly.

Dewpaw looked at her paws, Poolstar might not have been leader anymore and he may have been an elder then but she still felt the same. this was a sad time for all the clans.

Hakwfire bowed his head in respect. Poor Poolstar, he would be deeply missed. At least they still had Silverstar.

she nodded as her clan looked at their paws. everyone was sad. she jumped down from the leadstone and pushed her muzzle into Poolstar's fur. She was so sad. she whispered to him as she shared-toughs with him for the last time....

Dewpaw padded over to Hawkfire and pushed her muzzle into his pelt. she always looked to him for confort. she thought of him as a father.... " she looked into his eyes. her eyes were filled with tears.

"It will be fine, Dewpaw. Don't be sad, everyone must go eventually and he lived a long life." He licked Dewpaw's head and looked over to where the body lay. Hawkfire lifted his head up and licked Dewpaw's head. "If there were anything I could do to have stopped it, I would have."

Dewpaw nodded. Hawkfire was right, anybody would have stopped it, if they could have. she enjoyed his presence and his eyes were encourageing.

Silverstar wasnt done, chances are she would stay there until moonhigh when the elders would bring Poolstar to his resting spot. She was done with her whispers and twitched her tail. so that Dewpaw and Hawkfire could share toughs with Poolstar

Dewpaw stood to her feet and padded over next to Poolstar pressing her flank against his. she Whispered to him.

Hawkfire nodded his head in respect to his leader. He sat down next to Poolstar and licked his ears. He looked up into the sky and said a prayer. "May Starclan provide him a safe path."

The moon had risen to the very peak of the sky and all the clan cats watched as the elders accompanied by Silverstar dragged Poolstar's body out of camp to be brought to his resting spot. Silverstar padded behind them keeping silent the whole time.

Dewpaw watched sadly, sitting next to Hawkfire as Poolstar was dragged away. I should give some some Thyme to Silverstar and other cats with extremly frayed never to calm them. Dewpaw thought.

Hawkfire nuzzled Dewpaw. "It will get better. At least our clan is thriving." He gently butted his head into her shoulder, trying to liven them both up. "We can't just sulk all day." He did not know what else to say.

Dewpaw nodded and purred "I geuss your right." she said," we cant all slump around all day she said standing to her paws. "be right back stay here." see said and ran into the med. cat den. She grabbed some thyme and ran back to Hawkfire dropping it in front of him " would you please give this to Silverstar when she gets back? it will calm her after our terrible lost." she said pawing it over to him ," i have other cats to tend to." she said sweetly.

"Of course Dewpaw!" He plopped down on the ground and groomed his matted fur. He kept his ears up to see if he could hear anything. He looked over at Dewpaw and smiled. She was a very smart cat.

"thanks!" Dewpaw said ," Ill see you soon.'' she padded away to the medicane cat den an came back out with her jaws filled with herbs. "tell me if you need anything to help you sleep tonight." she said to Hawkfire with herbs in her mouth. and padded away.

Silverstar padded back into camp sadness reflecting in her eyes.

Hawkfire saw Silverstar and ran over to her with the herbs. "He will be dearly missed. Dewpaw said to give you these." He sat the Thyme down for her.

Silverstar nodded, it was good to no she still had her deputy with her. "I'll eat them in my den." she said kindly and picked up the thyme.

Flowerkit trembled slightly with grief. She was alost 6 moons and knew of the great loss. She looked up at Dewpaw with her two different colored eyes. "Hello Dewpaw."
