I've been thinking about it for awhile after my friend mentioned it and well wow, i didn't know how to respond o.O Do you guys think the fun loving cute kitty cat is an anime or some kind of form of manga or anything like that? if so explain if not well, explain whee

lyeiez2504 i think so... urm...i think hello kitty wasnt an anime... coz anime is like naruto or sumthin.. i think... i dont whether is is true or false redface depends what you think of anime really, and so far naruto has been one of the most overrated ones lol

I have great faith in fools.
Naruto isn't bad. Just way too many damn fillers....
As far as Hello Kitty goes, it's not from any anime or manga....there is no story behind it as far as I know. It's just part of a fad that was huge and still is pretty much.
My friends call it self confidence.

I think it is. It was made in Japan. Besides, not all anime is aimed at older people (take Hamtaro for example).

They made an anime (American, I think, so it's not really an anime xD) for it, but i think that that came after Sanrio made Hello Kitty stuff. Quote: The earliest Hello Kitty animated series known was the American-animated (co-produced with Japan) Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theatre, which aired throughout 1987. This show, produced by Sanrio in cooperation with DiC Entertainment, parodies various famous fairy tales and blockbuster movies from the period.[4] It was broadcast in the United States on The Family Channel, and a Spanish-dubbed version also aired Saturday mornings on Univision. That's from the Hello Kitty wikipedia page... I remember renting those videos from Blockbuster when I was little xD

tho pplz say its not HK could possibly be an anime... id say its a chibi :3 thats my oppion though so i have no clue but id say is a chibi/kawaii/blob/manga thing :3 I have NO clue though so sorry if yew dunt agree wit meh :3

3nodding As a young and budding anime artist, i have to say, HELLO KITTY IS ANIME. FIRST off, it SO does not look ANYTHING like american cartoons, then or even today. SECOND, though similar, anime has MANY branches from Shojo and shonen to Bishies and Chibi's (CHIBI WA KAWAII) and beleive it or not, the Pokemon are considered Chibi's. Even the BIG ones, Chibi's arn't ALWAYS so small, rather it refers to a style of highly (and in the case of Chibi-chibi's super highly) simplified art with a focus on cute and cuddly. EVERYTHING hello kitty is. Hello Kitty is chibi. Simple, yet cute and cuddly. THEREFOR, hello Kitty surely and mostest definally is *dynamic camera pan with finger pointy* CHIBI ANIME!

<.< if you look at a lot of older more childish cartoons you will see a good bit of a resemblance. I don't consider Hello Kitty an anime not because of it's drawing style but on the fact that it is mainly a cartoon to get younger kids into. >.> But that is just my opinion
