This is a topic I have added so people can talk about the classic game series, Final Fantasy. I added this because I noticed it didn't exist yet at the time I checked and, being the complete FF fan I am, could not resist discussing the series with people in a guild that would most likely ensure having conversations with other intelligent gamers. Anyone wishing to discuss the series (or the games not part of the numerical series, e.g. Tactics, Crystal Chronicles, etc.) can post right here.

So far I've only played X, X-2, and XII. I didn't have the appropriate systems until recently and was just never interested until I was really bored and grabbed the nearest game at hand (which was my roommates at the time)

I should probably go back and try the others at some point, but I'm afraid, now that I'm spoiled by graphics, I'll be disappointed and not sit through them.

I was the same way not too long ago. Until I sat down and FORCEd myself to play FF VI. It is such a good game, you don't notice the fact that everyone is a sprite. The battle system is, I'll say it because my brain has locked me from my vocabulary at the moment, awesome, the overworld is just something I like about the older FF's, so that's a given positive, and the idea of the Veldt is really intriguing to me. Trust me, if you play the stuff from FF VII back, you won't be dissapointed. Not that the newer ones are bad compared to them, I just wanted to point out that old school can be far beyond the graphics.

This is true. Maybe I'll find the time eventually. *Crosses fingers*

My all time favorite final fantasy game was Final Fantasy crystal chronicals which existed for the gamecube.

No one seems to share my amazing passion for it. XD

I enjoyed Crystal Chronicles, to, aside from the ridiculous GBA hookup thing. I've also really been getting into FF Tactics Advanced. I can't wait for them to come out with the new one.

Although, personally, I was always more fond of Square's World of Mana Series.

I can see why the GBA thing was necessary, though it was VERY annoying, yes. XD

I loved tactics advance, the game is actually my younger brother's so I can't go back and play it anymore with him. My goal is to find a used copy for myself and start it over again.

I tend to be attracted to the more abstract games rather then the roman numeral tralala types.

The Original FFTactics was at least 100 times better then Tactics Advance.

I have the tactics game, I haven't played it in quite awhile and I never really got the hang of it back then.

Never had the chance to play Tactics ..
I think VI is my favourite of the series. I looove my old SNES ^^ It has so many awesome RPG's that a lot of the new ones just don't measure up to. I could ramble, but then I'd be getting off topic ..

Is there anyone here like me who doesn't get all the hype surrounding VII? I thought it was okay, but nothing fantastic. Please don't hurt me ^^'

If my opinion should be heard, I believe that FF Tactics Advance is in every way FF Tactics' equal. And it's sequel. Well... not really, but I had to say that because it rhymed. Stupid me. Anyways, both games really caught my attention, and I couldn't stop playing either one... though TA had me playing a lot longer than T. I think it's just my affinity for the job class changes in the older FF games that keeps me coming back. That, and the horribly gruesome storyline of Tactics.

I'm an FFVIII fan. Though I really, really enjoyed FFVI, from what I played, but I don't like how you can't overpower your characters from repeated actions (as you can in VIII; gotta love that junction system!). I just loved everything about VIII, from the "complex" junction system to the "overly-romantic" storyline. I also loved the music in the game, and the cut-scenes were incredible... Just... I can't describe my unending love for that game. It is, coincidentally, the only game in the series I've ever played completely through more than once. I started with FFIX, which is probably the third best game (in my opinion), but I accidentally saved over the new file with my old one. Oops. xp

Strange, Luxx. I seem to remember, and vividly at that, a certain conversation back in the Gaian Grammar Guild, which I started as the apparent first FF freak on there, that you were discussing your favorite parts of the games you had played. However, I could have merely looked too far into what you were saying and figured you were as crazy about FFVIII as I was (still am, actually) about FF Tactics. Still, there are always several degrees on every subject to how much someone dis/likes something. Except The Princess Bride. You either love or hate that movie. I feel the former word towards it.

I do love VIII... I was saying that the criticisms against it are flawed. The junction system was the easiest one I ever used, except possibly, nine's system. I just love junctioning because you can make your characters insanely powerful. I also absolutely loved the story for the precise reason that most people hate it. The only game in the series that I've played and didn't like was X, really.
