Today was not one of Flint's 'good days.' He had already been out all night the previous night, and was in a rather unpleasant disposition due to his business dealings. Then he had to come home to the positive pregnancy test. Of course, he was the one who allowed for his wife to get pregnant, but it didn't mean he was thrilled about it, at least, not in this current mind frame. Usually he would have ecstatically hugged Calendra and started frantically searching for the best everything for his children; clinic, toys, furniture...
Thankfully for him and his... background... he was in complete control at the moment. So all he offered was a gruff "I see." and went to searching for a low-key fertilization clinic. His mood slightly improved when he stepped into the 'Double Trouble Clinic,' because that's exactly what is was: off the radar. No background checks, no required history. Nothing. Just a name and money. He had that all taken care of.
Flint pursed his lips and lit up a cigarette in the lobby, damned if he was in a clinic or not, and took a long drag. He then cocked a sleek, silver eyebrow at the receptionist and turned to Cal, who he knew, was right on his tail. She always was, there was no doubt of that. "Stay close, and don't answer any questions with more than one sentence. Got it?"
"Hey." His voice was low, almost in a warning, but still held a somewhat amiable tone to it as he attempted to get the receptionist's attention. "Flint and Calendra Emerson. We have an appointment. Now."

Cal walked quickly at her husbands side. She didn't move faster than him or slower than him. Each step he took matched her own. She knew this mood and was quick to obey even the silent orders. The wide duel colored eyes looked around the clinic in wonder. Twins, that's what this place promised. She knew that Flint chose this place because the doctor didn't do history checks but her heart jumped when she quietly researched it on her own. No matter Flint's wratch she wouldn't go to a place that might make it impossible for her to have kids, but this place seemed clean and healthy and best of all...it promised twins.
If she could have twins, Cal told herself, she'd never ask for kids again. Then she'd already have two perfect little children of Flint. Who could ask for more? Not Cal. She let out a happy sigh as she snuggled a little into Flint's side, her heart almost bursting with the love for her husband. She didn't mind the smoke, oh no it made her think of him, all she saw when she looked at him was the perfection that she truly believed was there.
"Yes Flint." she chirped quickly, before glancing at the secretary, her face kind, soft and beaming. Children, she was going to have Flint's children! She was so glad her husband okayed these plans. She wanted his kids since the first time he proposed but he never seemed ready. When she finally asked she feared just being shut down...or worse Flint thinking she needed someone else to love beside him. Which wasn't true! She didn't need anyone but her wonderful husband but...she wanted children, Flint's children. She wanted to fullfil her vows completley, be the perfect wife to him, and the perfect mother to his children, she needed to be perfect for him.
Selma glanced up at the couple. One eyebrow rose as she looked over Flint, and his wings but since no man would frighten the eternally bored look from her face her hand rose and then shooed them off with a few flicks of the wrist.
"The doctor will be out to see you in a moment." she chimed boredly, looking back to the computer where she moved the red two over the black three. Nothing killed the time like a game of solitare.

"Hmpf." Flint decided that he wasn't in the mood to get into an intimidation match with the receptionist; he would merely overlook her for now, and if she proved a problem on consecutive visits, then it would be taken care of. He took another puff of his cigarette before lacing his hand with his wife's, and gently began tugging her towards the lobby chairs. Even though there was no one else in the waiting area, he still chose somewhere secluded for the two of them, as per the usual.
The air was stale, and it just annoyed him to no end. It only became more stifling as he extinguished his butt on the armrest, leaving only a faint burning smell to accompany the distasteful atmosphere. "So..." He idly began to attempt some sort of conversation to keep himself occupied, and since Cal was the only one near, it was with her. "What are you hoping for, boys, girls, or both?"

Cal went quickly with Flint, glad that they weren't going to fight with the scretary. She understood why Flint would need too. After all she couldn't have these underlings think that they were on the same plane as Flint. Even Cal wasn't as good as Flint was and he tolerated her. She moved closely with him, fighting the urge to cuddle or snuggle up against him. His mood was iffy and she didn't want to risk angering him by being too clingy. Then he'd just take her and go and they wouldn't have their twins. Their glorious, wonderful, cutsy twins she'd knew she'd get.
"I don't care, as long as their your kids I don't care what they are." Cal told him honestly, looking up at him with her adoring eyes. If they were Flint's children then they be perfect, just like him, even with her sub-par DNA they would be wonderful. "What do you want Flint?" she asked, her heart hopping desperately she'd be able to give him whatever he wanted.

"Well, Puppy. I guess I'd want some pretty little girls who look like their pretty little mama." He reached out and patted her on the head for emphasis to his 'kindness.' For some reason, even though he wasn't happy, he wasn't displeased with Cal. And, he wasn't an idiot. As long as Calendra was carrying his children, he'd do nothing to cause any unnecessary stress that could affect the pregnancy.

Cal smiled at the compliment and the pat. She may have been human but she acted a lot like her nickname, especially around the man who gave it to her. If she could she'd wag her tail and bark, if it would please Flint. She'd do anything to please Flint.
"Then I wnat little girls too." she said firmly and just like that she couldn't imagine having a boy. Not when little girls would please Flint. She could seem them in her mind, his silver hair, his icey blue eyes, his pale skin. She smiled at the image and forgot herself long enough to rest against him.
Ronchas was moving down the hallway. His walk brisk as he for once he actually remembered an appointment. Normally he just stumbled upon them or a nurse took care of it but this one he remembered. Something about that voice stuck in his head.
"Hello! Hello!" he said eagerly, walking up to the couple with his wide grin in place. "Welcome to you both, welcome to you both! So I see the two of you want some children yes? Oh yes, well, follow me, follow me. My office is just over here."

"Ah yes, hello." Flint presented an incredible business man smile (one perfected in his line of work) and stood up to follow the man. "Actually, we're already pregnant, we just came here to help ensure that all goes well." It really wasn't hard to play the part of 'doting husband,' he just usually didn't feel he needed to. Since this man was going to be, in essence, taking care of the welfare of his precious children, this case became a need moment.
"Cal, are you ready?"

Ronchas blinked at that information, thinking about it. Then shrugged, it should sitll work if the DNA was mixed pre or post shot. So long as they got it soon enough. He nodded, and lead him to his office.
Cal nodded eagerly to Flint, chimming in brightly, "Yes Flint!" Much like the puppy she wished she could be to hime sometimes. She rose with Flint, holding on to his hand. She knew Flint was doing the 'professional' front he did sometimes to get things from people but she didn't care, as long as he just kept on holding her. She didn't care what he did as long as he held her.

He rearranged his arm so that instead of holding her hand, his arm was wrapped around her waist, holding her close to him. It also began to gently caress up and down, though whether this was to calm him or her was unknown. Flint followed the "good doctor" leading his wife with him as he walked. "I do hope this won't take too long. As you can understand, we have many preparations for the twins to make."

"Oh no, no time at all, no time at all. Just need to give the pretty lady a shot, just a shot, then you pay your money, and can ask questions if you wish, if you wish, then you may go." Ronchas explained easily. His way of saying 'pretty lady' seemed different than a flirt but more of a compliment to Flint, for being so smart to get her. Ronchas knew who was the dominat in thier realtionship and only needed to make sure that the man didn't pull her out of his clinic before she got the shot.
Cal though blushed at the comment and hug tighter to Flint. When other guys called her pretty she always felt a flutter of panic. She never knew when Flint would take it the wrong way. Because he was rubbing her arm she felt pretty safe and the fact that Ronchas said it to Flint, not her helped but still. She had no desires to be pretty to anyone but Flint. he was the only one that mattered in her world, really mattered at least.

Flint understood Ronchas quite well. "Why thank you, I find her quite beautiful myself." His words came out in a purr, this man knew his place, so he didn't feel threatened at all. "Cal, are you ready? It shouldn't hurt, but if you want, I'll hold your hand during it."

Cal smiled up at Flint and his offer, "I would...enjoy that Flint." she admited softly, in a careful tone that wouldn't hold him to the promise but only let him hold her hand if he wanted too.
Ronchas watched the family carefully as he opened the door. He was getting the odd ones, good. The police rarely believed the odd ones. Ronchas grinned that manic grin as the parents walked in.
Cal glanced at the patient spot and climbed up on the rised platform, sitting on it a bit uncomfortably as she sadly distangled from Flint to pull off his jacket. After all Ronchas would need to see her arms. The cheap t-shirt allowed him to see enough arm without reveling anything else. She didn't like to give men reasons to think they could look when obviously they couldn't. Her body, like anything else of hers, belonged to Flint first and her second.
"Now I got some paper work for the two of you, some paperwork." Ronchas admited, pulling it out of a freshly labeled file, handing it to Flint, knowing he'd give his wife what he wanted his wife to do. "You just take care of that while I get the shot, I'll be back soon, be back soon." he asured them, leaving the room.

"Thank you Doctor." Flint gave him a smile as he left, which faded as soon as he was out the door. Then he grabbed an empty chair and drug it to Cal's side and sat in it. He flipped through the paperwork, filling it out, including the section about Cal's family. He had his ways; he probably knew more about her family than she did at this point. When he was done, he left it on the table at Cal's side and silently laced his hand with her's, his lips a thin, straight line.

Cal watched silently, just smiling as he filled out about her history, loving how he knew everything about her. She didn't make any motions to touch him since he didn't make them first but when his hand wraped around hers she held his tightly as she smiled at him so happy. She couldn't ask for anything more at this moment, not a single thing.
"I love you Flint." she whispered softly, watching him with love sick eyes. She'd die without Flint, absolutely die. She needed him in a way that no human should need another being. She felt she was nothing when he wasn't around her or unhappy with her. In her mind he made her extiance make sense and without that...without that she wasn't meant to live.

Almost as if he had been physically shaken, Flint lightly jumped, surprised from his thoughts. He slowly turned to Cal and a rare, heartfelt smile replaced the contemplative look from before. "I love you, too, Puppy." He used his thumb to gently stroke the back of her hand, silently reveling in how soft it was. There were many things he cherished about his wife, he just did not voice them.
Though their marriage may be frowned upon by others, it was not a one-way relationship that many thought. Calendra was the pillar Flint's sanity. If something were to happen to her, he would shatter, and humanity would no longer be something he would feel forced to tolerate; it would be something he must destroy.
