Bungie has no definite hold over Halo anymore, as the rights are now owned my Microsoft.
A Halo Project is in the works, but to say Bungie is behind it is kinda of iffy, hell, valvE could be making it.

quiet true but they aren't going to officially split with micro soft till it is done so while they don't own it and willnot own it they are still working on it
I'm just wondering when we will see the final product

I somehow doubt that Microsoft would entrust Halo to anyone other than Bungie. Halo is the flagship game of the Xbox, and Bungie got it right all three times. Do you really think Microsoft would trust someone else with it? I mean, come on. Would you trust Mario with anyone other than Nintendo's own design team? It'll probably come out looking like God of War.

Bah, the first and third LotR where just long excuses to go to the movies and play with your Gameboy/text people.
A Fox Atomic director could make a better movie using man-made stick figures on a budget of 25 dollars.
And I remember Bungie being deeply disappointed on Halo 2.
Bungie and MS are split down the middle, Bungie is free to make games for the Xbox 360 as well as the other consoles, and Microsoft is free to whore the s**t out of Halo for the billions it's worth worth.
As for movies, Stick to something that feels like a movie more than a comic book. Then you ain't got much to fassle over. coughGearscough

yes I know about the gears of war movie but that could just as easily go south halo isn't really a comic book story though I see where u are coming from with that comparison but also remember peter isn't directing it hes just producing and doing creature effects so hopefully he will maek the Covies and flood look as bad as and realistic as possible hell he did a good enough job for kong and he was entirely CG but really I am hiped up about gears too I want to see when they going to make the next installment to that series now that Halo is more or les out of the way I think the gears of wars characters have far more depth and personality while the chief is rather stiff and not all that interesting apart from the armor unless they plan to flesh out his character in the movie sorta like they tried in the book we'll just have to wait and see I guess
