Ever since last summer Kitteh's family has decided to go on a road trip this coming summer, and we've been saving up money. We're basically going to be exploring the middle area of the country. There's currently only 2 3 cities that we're definitely going to go to, and a bunch that are pending.
The 2 3 set in stone cities:
-Denver, CO
-Phoenix, AZ
-Minneapolis, MN
So, I've been reallyreally excited for this trip. BUT.
Kitteh's dad is switching jobs, so he might not get enough vacation days to make this possible.
So, if the trip falls through, my mom said that I could go to one anime convention that I want to, no matter the location. Except she's probably hoping it'll be one on the east coast or midwest, because she probably doesn't want to take me all the way to the west coast just for an anime convention.
BUTSTILL. No matter what this is a win-win situation for me ^^~
Now, on to why I even posted this topic.
-What other locations should I go to on the trip if I can still go? Basically anything west of Lake Michigan and not touching the Pacific is fair game, though better-known cities would be best.
-If I get to go to an anime convention, what one should I go to? There's so many @w@ And I should probably go to one with a Gaia panel >w< It can't be anything really soon, though, because we still don't know if we'll be able to go on the road trip or not.

And rlyrly nice aquarium.
And high murder rate.
And not far from D.C., can go down, sit in front of White House and just hold up the middle finger...

I would have to agree with Otakon being the convention to go to on the East Coast. If it was West, I'd suggest Anime Expo. But maybe not so much this year as it's going to be in the LA Convention Center and that could be dangerous.
There's stuff to do in the middle of our country?

Dallas is lots of fun~
You get sick and tired of the weather when you have to live here, but it would be fun to visit (especially if certain members of your family enjoy shopping). There are all sorts of interesting things to do.
And there is lots of shopping.
LOTS.

Minnesota is full of touristy things.
You could go to Duluth and play with boats and the big lake and nature nstuffs, or you could go to Minneapolis because that area is full of culture. We have the Walker Art Museum which is amazingly AMAZING seriously, and lossa other stuff. The skyway is ******** great and MPLS is prettymuch the only city with it. And then there's the Mall of America, and Minnehaha Falls and tons of stuff like that. Minnesota really is beautiful in the summer and there are so many things to do. PLUS YOU HAVE SUNAYA AND I. AND PELES.

If by 'not touching the Pacific' you mean states, then oh well. But if you meant individual cities, I don't think Seattle is touching the ocean. It's pretty close, but it's not all the way there.
Also-- you should go to Yellowstone in Wyoming

WE NEED TO HAVE A MEETUP. Definitely. Of course, we still need to see if I'll even get to go on the road trip. I really hope so. I love going to places that I've never been to before >w< :begs dad's new work to give him enough vacation days: We /should/ know by the New Year whether or not the trip will be possible. @Ret- Yeah, my parents mean states. Trust me, I begged to go to Forks (lulz Twilight fan), but they're all "Maybe some other trip. (aka: go once you're in college)" We will probably go to Yellowstone, though.

UPDATE:
Okay, dad says it's not because of vacation days, but rather it depends on how well his new job goes. (like if he gets along and gets accustomed and gets accepted and all that)
BUT HE ALSO SAYS THAT IF WE DON'T GO THIS SUMMER, WE'LL DEFINITELY GO NEXT SUMMER.
And if we do go this summer, I'll probably get to go to Otakon next summer. (I told my mom about it, and she says it's doable. of course, we couldn't possibly afford to do both trips in one year)

O.o( ) Oh, and go to the place in the desert... the "four corners" or whatever it's called? So you can claim to be in 4 states at the same time... o.o
