Sastimos groaned to himself and opened his wings. They were losing feathers. They always gave him trouble and this just made things worse. To calm himself he decided to meditate. It always worked even if it was only for a few minutes. He relaxed his body and stood under a large frost covered tree. He easily thought of nothing. At one time in his life it had been hard. But now it was too easy.

Meanwhile, Sorai had wandered off back into the trees after meeting up with her mother at total random and was currently sort of lazily drifting around from one brighter area to another. She had noticed it was getting cold later, and it was a bit warmer in the sun. Being such a small mare, she did get cold rather easily but it wasn't anything that she couldn't handle, yet.
Slipping from another patch of sunlight, she caught sight of another Soquili apparently resting underneath a tree. Tilting head slightly, the grey mare wondered if he wasn't cold there. But she said nothing, just standing still and watching him.

Sastimos heard movement. If something was hunting him he dared not run. Sastimos was not a fast runner at all. And his wings, well...He was doomed. He peeked one eye open only to see another Soquili. It was obviously a mare. He opened both eyes now and looked at her. "Hello." he said in his deep, slow voice. He observed her calmly and moved his wings around some more. He took a small step closer to her. Obviously she was not afraid of him or she would have left already. He smiled in a friendly manner and looked around a bit.

Sorai blinked back at the stallion, noting kind of idly that he had wings too, but ... the feathered sort. "Hello," she echoed calmly. "Isn't it cold under there?" she asked then, even as a small mouse poked his head out of her mane to see who the heck Sorai was talking to.

Sastimos stared at the mouse that seemed, oddly, to come from her mane. He looked above himself at the tree. "Sastimos does not get cold easily." he said with a slight shrug. "Sastimos thinks it does not make much difference." he smiled at her. "Is it cold over there?" he asked with a small wink. He turned his head to get rid of a loose feather then he looked back at her. He looked at the mouse again for a moment and decided to ignore it. Maybe she didn't know about the thing.

Well ... that made sense. He was larger than she was and probably had thicker fur too. Plus all those feathers...
"It is ... but it's probably a bit warmer than where you are," she replied, smiling slightly at the wink.

He nodded lightly to show that he agreed and walked over to her to share the sunshine. "Sastimos thinks you're right." he said looking around with a smile on his face. "Sastimos would like to know your name." he nodded again and looked at her.

"Sorai," she said, dipping her head just a little. And at a faint, indignant sort of squeak from within her mane, "And the mouse is Dele ... he says hello." Another squeak followed that, as Dele had certainly said nothing of the sort.
But at least she'd remembered to introduce him this time around.

Sastimos found his eyes traveling back up to the top of her head to where the mouse was. "Sastimos is my name. Nice to meet you Sorai...and Dele." he nodded toward both of them. How could she understand the little creature's squeaks? Little things always confused Sastimos. But he knew they had a rightful place on Earth just as he did.

"It's nice to meet you as well," Sorai replied, smiling just slightly. Manners were an important thing to have, after all. "What were you doing under there?" she asked then, curious.
She didn't really have any sort of burning need to know, though ... just asked to make conversation.

"Sastimos meditates to calm himself." He nodded slightly and smiled at her. "Sastimos thinks we should do something," he said. It wasn't much fun to simply sit around chatting about the weather and other boring topics. It was better to play games or at least walk about. Sastimos had found this out watching other Soquili. He didn't need to move about so much, but he knew others did. Others less calm than he loved action. So that's what he'd give them.

"Something... something like what?" Sorai asked, tilting head over to one side slightly. Perhaps other Soquili needed action to be happy, but hers was a more laid-back sort of personality, for the most part. She was perfectly content to simply stand around and talk.
However, she didn't know what Sastimos was like, so if he wanted to do something else, it was only polite to go along with it... right?

"What does Sorai like to do?" he asked forgetting about the mouse in her hair. Maybe she had something in mind. He eyed the sky wondering if maybe it was about to get even more cold. He smiled though. Snow was fun every now and then. Maybe it would give them something to do.

Well... that was a bit of a hard question for her, since she didn't particularly know. "Ah... mostly I usually just. Wander around," she said after a moment with a little tilt of her head.
She didn't mind doing something else, but she had no idea what to suggest, here.
After a minute or two of silence, though, Sorai tilted head ... and realized the male had apparently lost himself in day-dreaming or something. Ah well ... time she was moving on anyway~
