I voted for finger.
If I'm just playing bass, I use my fingers. By which I mean if I'm just playing for my own pleasure I play with my fingers because nine times out of ten I prefer that sound.
If I'm playing with my band or putting a song together, I change it up. I use whatever generates a sound that I think if fitting for the song. I have been known to use many methods. I have used my fingers, I have used a felt bass pick, I have used an ordinary plastic guitar pick, I have used change (fifty cent pieces work the best but quarters are easier to get), I have even used a spoon a couple of times.
I can generally play faster with a pick, playing all down strokes. I'm not very good at alternating. Lately, though, my fingering has been catching up to my picking in speed. Once I get better at always generating an even tone while fingering, I will likely do that even more often.

I'm actually faster with fingers, only because i can use 3 of them rather than just 2 strokes

depends on the sound i'm going for
i will usually play Fingers
unless a song needs a Picked sound
i can play just as well with both... i play a little guitar so i have a decent picking technique aswell as a finger technique
i also like playing bass with my Thumb and fingers
in a Slap style... aswell as a Fingerpicking style similar to a guitars fingerpicking style...
alot easier to play chords and three or four stringed arpeggios

I use both, but mostly plec. It's probably because I'm too lazy to bother with all that effort put into moving my fingers. whee
But I'm just as good with both.

i use my fingers...for me its faster. thats prolly because i use all 4 fingers. but i use both pics and fingers. alot of times though im only using one finger which is my pointer finger. i can go about as fast as a bassist using 2.......but yeah. picking is pretty slow for me...but i finally decided to start using picks like 3 months ago and ive been playing for like 3.5 years...so yeah

I'm faster and more accurate using my index, middle, and ring fingers than using a pick...

I'm all for fingers, though I prefer slap myself, and I'm a lot faster with that. I can get three fingers going and that's a lot faster then I can pick. I'm horrid with a pick, and I almost never use it, since I can get plenty of treble from my Ashdown. I'm not much for picking any ways it sounds too crisp for my tasts. I like more of a middle area for my tones.

Pick all the way Fingers are too slow for me because i have no coordination and just end up using my index. Pick sound cool and with alternate picking you can go pretty damn fast. I also find that fingers look really n00b in a band playing punk of w/e sweatdrop
