Her muzzle brushed against the freezing earth as she grazed from a patch of grass that wasn't being covered by snow, her breath turning into hot wisps and swirling off into the nights air, ears perked and listening for any odd sounds, she continued to munch.
She couldn't believe the weight she was gaining, how round her sides were becoming, she feared she may not be able to fly soon, and that was not an option, she thought with a snort.
Lifting her head, she shook out her ringlets of mane, jagged bangs shielding her eyes as she gazed around, bright tropical blue orbs scanned the darkening land around her. Pregnant and alone, wouldn't her mother be proud she thought with a smirk, like she even mattered to her mother anymore, she rolled her shoulders.
Gazing back at the patch of what had been she realized she'd munched away anything that would be good and worth the while, she sighed once more. What had she'd done...She closed her eyes and let the chilly wind blow over her, ruffling her feathers a bit as she enjoyed the chilly embrace.

Halting to a stop, Helios landed with a graceful gesture, folding his wings inside for the walk he was about to begin. He stared at the darkening skies through a slitted glance. Cloudy skies were just the beginning of the weather that was about to begin, not to mention the showers of rain and snow that was to come.
Shaking his head with a rueful glance, he realized flying would not be an option for a while. While others were accustomed to land, he preferred the skies. A chilly wind blew past the stallion, as it ruffled his mane. He lifted his head up, to enjoy the breeze, his eyes being slowly drawn to a figure in the near distance. A mare, and a strange one at that. His eyes dropped to her wings, as he realized with a faint smile, they were the same.
They both had the wings, and the horn as curiosity compelled him to walk closer. "Hello?" His voice cut through the silence that linger in the air, as a knife did to an apple. His voice had a questioning lilt to it, as he realized there was a sort of sadness in the air.

At the first sound of wings, she just assumed it was due to a bird returning late to its nest, but as a voice soon followed, she knew then she was not alone.
Turning her gaze, she caught sight of the winged stallion, a brow arched. "Hello.." She replied, even through everything she'd gone through, her voice still carried its hushed sweetness, like a rain storm on the horizon. Her brightly colored wing shifted on her side, she did her best to hide her pregnant belly, no one would think her weak for it, she thought.
She'd been hurt enough, it wasnt going to happen again.

His eyes dropping to her concealed movement, he had already made the assumption that she was pregnant, but he wasn't about to question it however. What she had wanted to do, she could do. A stranger, let alone an uninterested one could not change things.
The mare's voice was different from the others that he had met, but it was lovely in its own right. There was a damper to it though, perhaps because of it's hushedness?
Ignoring her gesture, he said politely "How are you faring? I understand the weather isn't the best of times, but what can you do?" He shrugged helplessly, not sure how to make a conversation. The other conversationalist has always began and continued the conversation, never him.

She watched him, ears perked. She wouldn't be fooled by a charming voice, and kind eyes, for some reason, those always seemed to be fake. Gods, why did she always fall for that..she sighed. Least the father of her unborn foals wasn't like that...oh gods no he wasn't.
"I am well, I enjoy the chill of the winters breath..Its calming, keeps one on their toes." She smiled faintly, he seemed to fumble slightly with conversation, that was something that was new to her. She'd been on her own since her little tryst with Balorg, so she craved a bit of conversation, she could only talk to herself for so long, without believing she was going insane.
"Though, wish the grass didn't hide away from it so much.." She moved closer towards him, maybe he really didn't have any intentions of harming her. It'd ease her mind at least.."I'm Anemone, its nice to have someone to chat with.."

"I see. Most mornings, it seems like a cold splash on my face, but I suppose it could be considered refreshing." He gave a chuckle, giving a smile to the other mare. Interesting, she was.
"Ah, I suppose it cant be helped. It does leave little food for us though." His tone was dry, as he flicked a glance towards the retreating grass. he stood still, as the other mare approached him "It's a pleasure to chat with such a lovely companion." That part was true, for the company that he had met so far was rarely so pleasant. Looks aside, their personalities had been a strain, "Its refreshing to meet company such as yourself. "
It eased his mind, how the other mare had struck up conversation. he didnt know what he had done, and it was less bother for him.
"Are you alone today?" He frowned at the realization, "A mare in your condition also. Will you be all right?"

"That can be a bit, harsh actually. Ooooh, makes me shiver just thinking about it." She indeed shivered, "Being all warm, and cozy, to lifting your head and getting smacked with an icy blast.."
"Yeah, little. Causes me to find myself drawn to the humans for a bit of extra supplement..Though, I'm told foals born in winter are a bit smarter.." She righted her wings, he didn't give her the feeling that she should fear him, plus with her wings like that, it made them seem heavier, and she didn't need that extra strained feeling. She smirked softly, "I bet you tell all the girls that.." She teased him with a wink, wow..she wasn't usually this friendly with males anymore, cept really Zevach and well, she guessed Balrog.
She didn't mind making the conversation, just as long as it didn't seem as if she were chatting with herself.
"I'm always alone.." She said with a slight smile, "I believe I will be, mares before me have foaled alone..though I've been strongly advised against it.." She pondered, maybe she'd find their father and tell him of her pregnancy and stay with his herd until she foaled. "..Specially with the onslaught of skinwalkers that seem to be coming out of the shadows.."

"Thats exactly how some days in winter feel like. But there are enjoyable days also." Looking to the skies, and back, "I know many look forward towards the season of snow."
"I wasnt aware that the seasons had such an effect." His look was inquiring, but it was certainly possible. It wouldn't do to be narrow minded after all.
"Haha. I'm afraid not, compared to other company .." he trailed off. It wasn't his business or in his nature to gossip about others, but the silence that followed explained more than enough.
Rather then let the silence continue, "Sounds lonely." he remarked, tilting his head in worriedly, when she voiced that she was birthing alone. His gaze dropped to the othwer mare's unconcealed form, "I can certainly see you were advised towards it. But if its your decision, feel free. As long as you take the weather, and your foals conditions into considerment. "
Staring at the mare intently, a realization struck him as he tentatively said "I apologize. We haven't introduced each other yet, have we?" You may call me Helios, but what may I call you ..?" Silently reprimanding himself for his lack of manners, he sent the other mare an apologetic look.

"I prefer autumn myself, the snow is beautiful dont get me wrong. Just enjoy all the colors that autumn offers.." She smiled softly.
"I think it has something to do with blood flow and well, there isnt alot to do in winter besides learn the best survival of the land.." she really wasnt sure why some had spoken such words, but who was she to question them.
"Lately, the company I've kept has not been welcomed at all. So this is very much a treasured moment. " She rolled her shoulders, her hooves ached a bit.
"Who isnt a bit lonely? Even if you are surrounded by a large herd, sometimes thats when you feel the most alone.." She shrugged, she didnt mind being alone, it just seemed she craved company like some would clovers in such a state. "I wont let anything happen to my foals, I will weigh the pros and cons heavily til its time."
She laughed softly. "I am Anemone, its a pleasure to meet you Helios, my father would have my rump for being so rude.." She giggled softly.

"Helios. Although I am quite sure, its my fault than yours." Enjoying the sound of her laughter, he ruffled his wings in an effort to keep himself warmer, from the chilly winds that continued to blow.
Listening to her words, he replied "Dont worry. I do not favor a season so much, that I would coerce another into changing their favorite season. Winter has its setbacks, I admit. It doesn't have a variety, such as autumn, does it?" He said, kindly to the other mare.
Thoughtfully he considered the mare's situations and her words, "Perhaps fate has not dealt you a kind hand? I'm sure that in time, you will meet people who enjoy you for who you are."
Loneliness cannot be escaped, no matter where you are, Helios thought silently. ".. even if you are surrounded, does it mean anything if it is not the people whom you want to surround yourself with? I would rather be alone, than surround myself with unwanted company. Because you are alone either way." He said simply, feeling empathy for Anemone.
"Heavily, huh. Sounds difficult to be a mother. I dont believe I'll ever put a female into that type of position." He mused to himself. Not that he would have that sort of affair anyways.

"So we are equally at fault then hmm?" she smiled, tossing her mane ever so slightly, it was heavy and even in the dense cold it made her warmer than she'd like.
"No it doesn't, but winter does have that crisp air that just catches you when your least expecting it.." She replied with a look over the snow covered land for a moment, a winter wonderland, beautiful in its own distant way.
"Aye it seems to have given me a rather rough start, but I suppose I am better from the experiences..Thank you Helios.." She smiled kindly at him, she hoped to find more who enjoyed her company.
"Exactly, sometimes its just easier to just actually be alone. You can find a bit more joy in being on your own, than with those that cause you more pain and lonesome than anything else..Its just not worth it." She shook her head, curls bouncing with the movements.
"Aye heavily, its not only my life on the line with my choices, but theirs as well...I have to put whats best for them before everything else.." She paused at his words, she giggled a bit now. "Oh I am sure you'll find the right someone who you will want to create a family with.." She nodded her head.

((Sorry I've taken so long on this T__T;;; *slowly getting to everything .. very slowly* D: ))
"Maybe." Helios voiced, rather evasively, not wanting to place blame elsewhere. "But I have to say, your type is quite refreshing. It's like a breath of fresh air." It had always surprised him, those which he happened to venture upon or meet. But he found himself with an instinctive like for Anemone, and her delicate nature.
"Ah.. An open-minded mare. I fear that your breed is dying out, slowly." A chuckle accompanied this remark, glad to see that Anemone could see both benefits of winter and autumn. It was a simple issue, but conversations werre ways to convey thoughts and manners after all.
"But I am sorry that you had to learn from such harsh experiences. I don't think life is fair in that aspect .. however, life is rarely the way we want it." The enjoyments of life, he supposed with a touch of irony and sarcasm.
Anemone's next words would strike the similarities between the two, Helios choosing to stay silent. It appeared that she had gone through several trials, indicated by her somewhat dismal last words.
But Helios was somewhat at ease, when Anemone spoke shortly after, with laughter. "That sounds like a prediction if I didn't know better. Maybe, for both of our sakes, we should hope that it comes true." Helios winked, feeling the atmosphere lighten.
"Now, why don't we take a walk? Standing here in the midst of winter, may not be one of my finest ideas."
