It had been several days by this point since Arcanos had first appeared in this place. He had absolutely no clue how he had gotten here. And he still didn't know where the hell Cyr was. Even before his sudden appearance here, Arcanos' lover had simply vanished. And the kitsune (now kitsu) had no idea where he was.
And he'd been getting steadily more and more worried. Now things were even worse, since he didn't know what this place was or how he'd gotten here. But ... if he was here, maybe Cyr was too..? Somewhere...
So Arcanos had been looking for the other, searching for him. So far, he'd had no luck at all ... and as a result of his stress and worry, he hadn't been eating very well or anything lately. Still, though, even thinner and rather bedraggled-looking, Arcanos was determined to search every nook and cranny of this place, until he either found Cyr, or determined that he wasn't here at all...

Cyralthein, on the other hand, was still clueless about his origins and had taken to being a recluse. He'd been here for a long while now and had found nothing to really satisfy him. His encounters has been less then condusive to wanting to explore further and so he'd returned to the HQ and kept to the familiar rooms.
On occasion, usually after dark, he'd venture out into the surrounding area to enjoy the coolness of the night and stretch his wings. It was always a pleasant silence... and it was just such a case that found the male gliding quietly over the trees to settle gracefully beside a pond. Sighing, he settled onto his stomach and watched the ripples distort the reflected starlight.
He was lonely... perhaps he should go find more companions. He'd liked that Deadpool person despite his seeming inability to focus for more then a few moments. He was fun, made him smile. Maybe he could forget completely whatever was bothering him if he befriended the other. Move on, as it were.

It was just about then ... that a shadow passed by the moon overhead, and Arcanos froze, throwing head back to look up. But whatever had made it was already gone, and really. How likely was it that Cyr would just happen to fly over right when he was thinking about him? Tch...
Still, though ... he found his feet turning in the direction that the shadow had been going, curious despite his better judgment. Up ahead, he could smell water - that having been one of the easiest things to adapt to. His sense of smell had always been a bit more keen ... now it was just a little more-so.
Pausing just behind a little stand of trees, he peered out, only now seeing that there was another kitsu flopped beside the pond. From where he was, he couldn't see the wings, and he considered just ... turning around and leaving.

As the bushes rustled, Cyr blinked and turned his head to gaze in that direction. Keen night vision cut through the shadows but he couldn't make any form out. Pursing his lips, he turned his softly glowing gaze back to the water. For several long minutes, he stayed there, gazing out across the water and musing. Occasionally, his tail would flick or his ears swivel to catch some sound in the distance.
At length, he yawned as he stretched his wings and rose, deciding to move on. Turning around, he made padded towards the edge of the woods opposite Arcanos' hiding spot. Nothing was here... might as well see if there was anything interesting elsewhere.

Arcanos froze when the other moved at first, turning to look. He was well-hidden, though and didn't get seen. But then... when Cyr moved again, spreading wings, Arcanos jerked.
Those wings ... looked awfully damn familiar.... Hell.
"Cyr!!!?" he yelled, bounding out of the bushes, for the moment not having his own wings. And even here, he had trouble getting off the ground from a flat place. If the other took off and flew away ... he might never catch him.

He blinked as his name was called out... a shiver running up his spine. Freezing as something came bounding out of the bushes, the male gaped and shrank away, ears flattening against his head. Wings flaring, he prepared for flight - first instinct was to flee. He didn't know how to fight... really only had a talent with trade so having a larger thing running at him was more then a little frightening. "What do you want?" He half-growled, beating his wings a few times.
The only thing that kept him on the ground was that this one seemed familiar even thought he'd never met him before. So... ragged looking... almost wild. Frowning, he narrowed his eyes, "Who are you?" There was surprise, suspicion, and a hint of recognition in his tone that only made him all the more wary. Who was this kitsu? Why did he stir memories?

Arcanos froze at that, sensing somehow that he was scaring the other. And hurt slid through his gaze for a moment... what..? "I ...it's me.." he said, not understanding what was going on.
"What d'you mean who am I..?" Sure, he maybe looked more than a little worse for wear but...

Cyr's expression softened slightly at seeing hurt in the other's gaze. He didn't want to do that... Wait, what? Shaking his head, he closed his eyes and inhaled, ears flicking forward. "I don't know you... but you know my name... how?" He blinked, remaining where he was.
These were strange thoughts... emotions.... why did he stir up a maelstrom? Who was he? The confusion was clear upon his face. So familiar and yet he'd never seen this one before.... "What's your name?" He asked at length, quietly.

Arcanos spirits and expression fell even more at that, and he blinked at the other, tails and ears drooping. He had thought... it would be simple. Just find Cyr and everything would be all right. But no ... his lover and mate didn't even know who he was.
And for a moment, Arcanos considered just ... giving it up. Saying he'd made a mistake and going his own way. But...no. He couldn't just leave. "Arcanos..." he said softly. If Cyr didn't remember him ... he'd just have to stick around until the other did remember. Or until he managed to make the Shifter-turned-kitsu fall in love with him all over again.

"Arcanos...." He echoed thoughtfully, tails flicking. A memory of warmth and companionship surfaced... of happiness but the source was blurred, indistinguishable from everything else. "Arcanos..." He repeated again, sotfly, as though it reminded him of something. Somehow the name washed away the lost feeling and he looked at the other with a strange, 'how?' sort of look.
He moved forward, slowly, until he came nose to nose with the large-eared kitsu. Arcanos didn't seem so bad... he felt he could trust the other... With a smile, he decided to at least entertain this stranger's company for a bit. Take his mind off the things he saw when people triggered visions so vivid they might as well be memories. "... You have big ears." He quipped in a friendly manner, not familiar but no longer so distant either.
This one resonated with him. Why not stick around and try to figure out why this was so?

The kitsune froze when Cyr repeated his name, eyes lidding slightly. So long since he'd heard his name in that voice ... And because eyes were half-closed, he missed the look the other gave him, missed it when Cyr moved closer - only noticing once they were nose to nose.
Eyes opened wide at that, and he stared, frozen - hardly hearing the other's comment. "I-I ... yea," he said quietly. "I ... kinda do ..." Dammit, now he was at a total loss as to what to do... wonderful.

Cyralthein blinked as the other's sudden balking. Had he done something...? Tilting his head to the side, he offered a smile and repeated his question, "Why do you know me? ... How?" He sighed and glanced at the ground, pawing it a little, "You seem familiar, unlike the others I've met here but I'm certain I've never seen you before...." He disliked being so open about his troubles but he couldn't shake the feeling of familiarity.
Tails and ears flicking, he watched the other with intense curiosity. Maybe Arcanos' reply would help answer his question... Or if not, give him a little more information about this stranger. As always, he was full of questions.

Oh well ... errrr. That was a bit of a difficult question. Should he tell the truth, and hope Cyr didn't think he was insane, or come up with some clever lie that somehow made sense...? Damn.
"I uhm." He sighed. "This is gonna sound really stupid and probably crazy. But I know you ... from .. before we came to this place. You... I guess you don't remember me. But I do remember you.."

Cyr blinked, tilted his head and peered at the other, "Are you sure...?" Tossing his head, he dismissed the other's explanation as craziness. He'd always been here.... the only solid, sure memories he had were of this place. Arcanos may seem familiar but he was certain he'd never known the other... let alone be from some other place. Tails swishing from side to side, he padded past the other and stopped when they were parallel, "It's not a good idea not to make up stories, friend. Taints your appeal."
It was a gentle admonishment, and the vanity in the shifter turned kitsu stirred. Someone was attempting to entice him... how very flattering even if he was going about it the wrong way. Smiling to himself, the dark kitsu continued in an inviting tone, "Have any stories that are more believable?"

Arcanos sort of drooped at that. Of course Cyr wouldn't believe him... that would make things too easy. He sighed softly. "I'm telling the truth ... but if you don't want to believe me, that's ok," he murmured.
Not to mention he recognized this attitude ... the other was acting much more like he had when they first met. All noble and haughty. And Arcanos well-knew that at the moment, he wasn't too pretty a sight himself.
