Ok MM. You wanted some ideas, well heres what I have seen to be the most effective ways to keep a guild afloat and recruit new members.

1)First off we need an RP thread in barton town. a bar and a regular old thread will work wonders for a dying or new guild. look at all the succesful role play guilds out their and you'll find that all but one or two have a bar thread and more than often than not, a regular battle/living RP based around a city or town outside of the guild.

2) We do need a banner and Siggies would be a good thing to get membership up. I myself will personally take this endevor and make a few as soon as I am abel to get on the internet with my actual comp. but I encourage others to make them as well. The more people making them, the more diversity in styles, the more people will look at them and be interested. I know full well myself that a bad advertisement can be brutal.

3) ALL and I mean ALL of the current members need to help out every once in awhile. A guild is only as active as its members, and three members posting here and there can't keep a guild a live on its own. One way to weed out the inactive members is to choose the members who have posted at least five times in the past week or so or the five with the highest post counts and keep them in the guild. Barring crew, you then boot the remaining members of the guild and put in the reason that you are looking for active members to be in the guild. Then tell them that if they wish to be active in the guild and are actually going to post on a deent basis that they should send a new join request entitled Re-join, or something along that line, and you will let them in for free.

4) If we are a defense league then we should get together on actual raids against the supernatural. That or start putting up defense "contracts" with people about hunting down particular creatures to just simply defending a thread or character.

5) Remember that a little goes a long way. If each member goes to two bar threads or any other type of RP thread and asks the owner to advertise for us. We would have over 20 places were we would be advertised. If you pick the right places, you might have upwards of 100+ people a day seeing the advertisement. Remember the above suggestion with the banners and siggies. Thats why diversity makes this key.

6) And finally, If we talk to our friends on this site about it. The majority of the RPers are looking for a place to just RP. You want members to keep the guild alive, then get your RPing friends to join and do just that that. RP.
