Was there anything besides boring that described his day? Well...not to him. With a grumble he walked on, glad to see something other than the vast expanse that was the savanna. He must've been wandering that place for...well, a really long time. He couldn't remember the last time he saw more than a few bits of shrubbery, and the jungle was definitely something his eyes welcomed. He skirted around its borders for a little while, tail wagging low and slowly behind him, ears and eyelids both drooping. Obi was glad to finally be out of the hot sun, and soon before he knew his legs would give out he lay down beside a rather large tree trunk.
With his body sprawled across the shady portion of that spot, he closed his eyes and gave a loud yawn. "Finally, somewhere to rest comfortably...." he said with a small, rare, contented smile. For a rogue with little knowledge of "the good life," he was pretty hard to please.

A shadow stalked away from the trees and into the light, lean form stretched out as the warmth of the day seeped into her pelt. The figure of course was clearly female, with her slim body and long legs. The ears atop her head and the fluffy tail showed her to be wild dog, though a strange one with a pelt from her unknown father and the blue from her mother.
Keilantra looked around with a lidded gaze, the restlessness of the nocturnal creature clear with how tired she appeared. However, she couldn't sleep, and so she figured she ware herself out, and maybe she'd find the urge to close her eyes until the moon rose.
It was at that precise moment her pink gaze caught movement in the distance, movement in her packlands.
Eyes now narrowed with worry, she took on an abnormal trait, one of seriousness that not many had seen from the hyper girl. She still may be young, but for once she realized just how close she was to her true duty. Lowering her head and perking her ears, she slowly stalked into the shadows once more, using them to her advantage as she crept downwind towards the male. When her eyes adjusted and she got near, she found herself surprised to see a male that was not in her family nor in the pack.
Gasping, she stepped back and stumbled over a branch, causing a racket as she fell ungracefully into a bush with a large huff.
"...Fantastic..."

Had she been quieter, a surprise attack would've succeeded. Much to Obi's luck, however, his would-be assailant managed to land herself in a bush not too far away from where he lay. The sudden noise all around caused him to jump up in surprise, naturally, and turn his head frantically this way and that. His sleepiness dulled his senses, and he couldn't quite hear right at the moment. Obi was blinded, as well, by the sudden brightness in his eyes, and when he turned his head a bit too far toward his left..
"OW!"
...It collided with the trunk of the tree he'd decided to sleep against.
The hit, however, woke him up enough to see a bit of a black pelt in the green bushes close by, and he walked up to it and poked at one of the legs sticking out in a strange direction. With a raised brow he poked it again, then went to rubbing his aching head...and face.
"So....were you supposed to be hunting?" he asked the heap in the bushes. "Because if you were," a pause and a laugh, "You failed miserably."

Her eye twitched once with each poke, and she tried to keep still to save whatever dignity would be left in a princess as she. So, taking a deep breath, she was about to move when suddenly he spoke up, and she felt her leg snap out towards the voice in attempt to hit him.
With another huff, if not a snort, she rolled over to her belly and stood up, shaking her whole form to get any twigs or leaves that could be stuck on her body. Turning, she finally faced the male to get a good look at him, her eyes roaming his pelt as if to distinguish it for one of the neighboring packs. When nothing came to mind, her frown increased to a scowl before smoothing over to simple curiosity.
"...I take it you have no idea where you are...do you?" With a smug glow entering her eyes, she found a playful smirk crossing her maw, before she shook her head, "Pity, it's always the clueless ones who end up getting killed for sneaking into our lands..."

Despite still being a bit drowsy, most of his reflexes seemed to be alive as he easily dodged a blow to his head. With a grumble he stepped back and let the female collect herself, then looked at her with utmost curiosity. She didn't look like your everyday canine, what with the black pelt and purple markings. She was a sight to behold, and Obi felt a slightly goofy smile spread across his maw.
That is, before she started talking. He tried to keep his cool, letting the threat pass without so much as a comment. The male grunted, finally deciding to reply. "No, I don't know who's 'land' I'm on. And frankly, I don't really care. I'm just a passerby, after all." He examined the femme's physique, quickly judging that it wouldn't be an easy task taking her down, but there was no chance she could win over him unless she had help.
"Killed?" he scoffed. "Well with the way you go about 'killing' trespassers, I doubt you'd even lay a single paw on me." He raised his brow again, "Would you, by any chance, mind giving me your name?"

It took only a moment before she started laughing, just straight out laughing. After all, that was simply her defense when someone tried to point out her faults, to laugh with them. Shifting her feet when she finished, she took a deep breath and let it go, before looking back at the male before her.
"I don't kill them silly, it's the scouts...who are missing considering you got in this far...it's too bad that our pack has been getting smaller...really hard for my mother and our family..."
Looking away a moment, she turned back at his last question before raising her own brow in response, "It's Keilantra...but don't the gentlemen usually introduce themselves first? It's only proper..."

"So there's a pack around here?" he asked, suddenly realizing exactly what she meant about being on a particular portion of land. "And...you are.....one of the higher ups?" He felt a small sense that she was, just from how she carried herself. It was very slight, though, so he figured he'd probably be way off the mark.
Her comment about being a gentleman made him smirk. "Do I seem much like a gentleman to you?" he asked, fixed on the idea of not giving her his name until he felt it was absolutely necessary.
...Which was only a few moments later when he decided that he'd get little to no entertainment from annoying her. "I go by Obi," he replied at last.
Somehow he felt a slight bit of interest in the pack, growing very tired of always having to wander. The solemn statement she'd made about her dwindling pack made him inwardly frown, but he couldn't get himself to outwardly show any sort of reaction to what she'd said. It'd be nice to have a home though.. he thought to himself, not noticing that he was frowning slightly.

"Obi..." Her maw formed the words with a soft hush, just going over the short, sweet name. Her rose eyes looked to the side before looking back towards him, and the purple spots seemed to shine against her dark pelt while she thought. It was than she caught sight of his small frown.
"I am, actually I am next in line to lead the pack, after my mother, Miremba...The rest of the pack is asleep, true nocturnal creatures, but this forest is our lands..." Her tone was softer this time, less threat but still a hint of warning. She had yet to decide if she trusted the male before her.

His brow quirked, noting that she still seemed a bit tense around him, and he smiled a bit. "So, you technically being a princess of sorts, should I...bow..or something?" He laughed a little and stood, walking a bit closer to the femme. "Or maybe hunt and give my catch as some sort of offering to...have a chance at maybe joining the pack..."
He spoke a bit slower as he reached the end of that sentence, not really knowing why he was suddenly so open about his want to be a part of a group or pack. The odd quiet made him clear his throat nervously. "So why the forest? There can't possibly be enough prey to feed an entire pack."

She regarded him with a smile when he made the joke, before nervousness set in her eyes. He continued to move closer and closer, and she didn't quite get what was going on. But as soon as he finished his sentence, she let out a snort before looking away with heated cheeks.
"You want to join my pack?" Looking back towards him, a true smile graced her features, before his next question came up and she looked to the tree tops and bright sky.
"Well...my mother used to live in these lands when she was young, but than the plague came and they all were run out...so she worked as hard as she could to come back to her homelands, being the only one left of her family. Later, she ran into Uncle Jeuri, and they created this pack with a few others and my siblings. The lands have a beautiful water source where the stars dance around the clearing and the moon lights up each night...and during the day we go to our hunting grounds outside of the lands to get food...so there is a pretty good source, since we live next to the roguelands."

"I see.." he replied to her lengthy answer. He'd only heard of the plague a few times in his life, but the stories that went alongside knowledge of the plague were depressing. His parents had only mention the plague once or twice whenever they talked of their parents. His grandparents had suffered from it, as well as his aunts and uncles, and even cousins.
"Well seeing as you guys are still together, I'd say she did a pretty good job of forming a pack." He smiled and figured that he was close enough, deciding that if he got any closer she might get too uncomfortable.
"And yeah...a pack would be nice. I'm getting a little tired of walking around all the time, y'know."

Lightly nodding in response, she returned his smile, "We are small, but still I think we are thriving, and a nice family."
Shifting a step back, she moved to the side before looking towards him again, "I guess I can introduce you to my mother, and if all else fails and you leave, you will always be welcome back to our lands...All the members who have joined us said the same thing, and we are welcoming to any who are looking for a home, a family."

His smile widened, and he stood up excitedly. "That sounds great," he commented, absentmindedly getting even closer. Obi was only a few feet away now, and before he could catch himself he got even closer and got right next to her.
"So what's your name? I don't think I caught it.."

"Keilantra..." She murmured it softly, not really knowing what to think. Of the few males she knew, they were either family, practically family, or held no interest in her. Eyes darting away, they looked back before taking a soft breath and stepping another step back. Distance was good, until she got to know the male.
"Well, why don't you follow me than...Our pack lands aren't too far away, but I will have to warn you in advanced, we are awake at night, so everyone is asleep right now...and if you don't want to anger my sister, try not to wake up her pups."
Laughing at the thought, her eyes shined a bit as she pictured the pleasant Cascada angry, which was hard in her eyes, before she caught herself and turned her attention back to Obi.

"Keilantra, huh?" he commented. "It's a nice name." And he gave a small, but slightly charming smile before standing and distancing himself from her. She seemed to get a little uncomfortable the closer he got, so when she offered to take him to her pack lands his tail began to wag a little. The feeling of finally belonging was something he thought he'd never experience since leaving his own family.
In regards to her warning, he laughed a bit too, then began to walk back toward her, his pace slow so as to maintain the gap between them. "So which way is it?" he asked anxiously.
