I took a home pregnancy test this morning and it said I was pregnant... so I called my doctor, telling her I think I'm pregnant. She said as long as the test said it, I'm probably pregnant... O.O (I took another one a few hours later to confirm the first test because I can't believe this is happening.) So we called our parents and told them, I have my first prenatal exam 12/21... and we're freaking out. We kind of wanted a baby, we just hadn't planned for one NOW. We've only been married for 4 1/2 months... I was on birth control, but I stopped last month because my tummy had been upset, and I thought it was the birth control. That obviously didn't stop the sex from happening though >.< Stupid, horny us redface

I'm so confused and worried and excited and scared and .... a million other emotions right now. Anyone have any tips or suggestions or just general advice on what you did when you and your spouse were expecting your first?

Wow ! eek !

so exiting! if you want to take your mind off of it for a bit try the two of you going out like on a date. Don't think about the laundy or the leftovers just try to have a carefree time and think only about the events of that day. Or better yat don't plan anything for your "date" just see how things happen to go.

sorry me again

just thought I'd share another thought
My husband and I want to have children. He thinks the sooner the better, while I would like to wait till we have some money saved up.

this is also toggled with the fact that he wants me to have an apointment with an gynacologist so that I can go on the pill and we don't have to stop the action to reach in a drawer. xd

I'm curently waiting for my stuffies to start.....a little late, could be stress... but he want's it to happen so badly. 3nodding sweatdrop

Congrats!

Your life will change dramatically when you have the baby, but it the best feeling to see the baby for the first time.

I'd suggest spending a lot of time together, just the two of you. Going to movies, dinners, just about anything you can do and afford. It will be harder for you to just go to the movies spur of the moment sort of thing.

Good luck!

Congratulations 3nodding What a surprise!!

Yeah, what Lee said. Once baby comes you will have your hands full so get everything done you reasonably want to get done before you get too far along. And have fun while you're at it. wink Enjoy the little things like sleeping in, sleeping all through the night, spontaneity, stuff you'd have to get a sitter for if baby was here already.

It's a wild ride, and it can be a great ride, too. I love being a parent. Usually. stare

Congratulations!

Well, the last thing you need right now is stress, so try not to worry too much, just concentrate on the nice things, like picking baby names!

Congrats!! I remember all too well how you are feeling, my first was completely unplanned and unexpected but now I can't imagine life without him!

Definatly take time to yourself because once the baby comes it is hard. And once the baby comes, take naps...sleep when the baby sleeps. That was probably the best advice I ever got while pregnant. And just enjoy the journey, there is nothing in this world like being a parent!

So the reality of it is starting to sink in. I am so excited xd (when I am not dealing with the constant heartburn stare ) We are so lucky, because we were planning on moving in with friends and renting a house next year, and they said they are still cool with us living there. We'll be able to have a little nursery set up for the baby, have a big yard the baby can play in and tons of people who want to watch him or her, for 300.00 a month! This way we can finish school and afford to take care of the baby.

At least now I know why I was having all the symptoms (I thought I was sick confused ) I hate feeling sleepy all day long, but I am trying to rest when my body asks me to and not eat everything in the kitchen. I'm so worried about doing everything right, I want to make sure I don't do anything that might be bad for the baby. Right now I'm going to go take a nap and wait for my hubby to come home from work so I can show him all the fun things I've been learning online about being pregnant biggrin

They say if you have heartburn it means your baby will be born with lots of hair! wink Well it is an old wives tale that proved true for me.

I forgot!

Do you have a cat?

if not, it cool.

If you do, do not change or handle the kitty litter! There is the risk that you will get a certain infection that could harm the baby. I'll look up a link and post it later.

lightheartedly though, I have a cat and Mat-kun wants to get rid of it.... I say that we need my little Tiger because he keeps out the field mice that live in the grass around the house.

LOL...me too! I had awful heartburn the first time around and Dominic had a decent amount of hair...The second time around was even worse, and Roxane was born with a mop!

I was told my heartburn was due to my uterus being really high in my torso, especially in the second half of the second and the third trimester.

I found what helped heartburn the most was drinking a lot of milk. I drank glasses and glasses of 3.25% every day (kinda stuck on me, so I still drink a lot of milk!), they said the extra fat was also important for the baby. Did it both times, worked like a charm, and my babies always came out with good weight.

Big congrats to you, Diavolina!

For the stress, I would suggest to take baths often, bubble them up if you like that. They are extremely calming, and I was also told while pregnant that being in water (baths or pools alike) is extremely good for the baby.

Aww! Congrats!

Do you want a boy or girl, or do you not care?

Hehehehe my family is waiting for me and my husband to pop one out as well.

Oh and if you have a cat it should be fine to keep, just don't handle cat litter.

No cat, but the people are moving in with have one. I am not overly fond of felines, so I have no intention of having anything to do with the cat at all. Plus, I think cats and babies are bad luck (some superstition about cats stealing the baby's breath)... and I'm allergic to cats confused So not changing any litter any time soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if my baby came out with lots of hair. I had a full head when I was born and my hair's so thick most barrettes and things won't work on it. I was hoping the baby would have thick hair like mine, so if the heartburn thing is true it should have a ton smile

We went to the bookstore and got some books, so I am more informed now on what's happening to me. The only downer was that most of the books and the websites talk about the high miscarriage rates.. and now I am worried. I keep asking my husband if I am really pregnant, because I don't want to get excited and then have it not happen, or have the test be wrong... or have something take it away from me crying . I took a third test this morning that said I'm still pregnant... I was reading something about a girl who took one each month for 4 months when her period was a day late, and it showed she had two miscarriages (she showed pregnant twice, but then got her period). Now I want to keep taking the tests to make sure the baby is still there. I'm a worried freak, I know. It also said you don't have your first prenatal exam until 8-10 weeks because of the miscarriage risk during this time - it makes no sense to get excited about a baby that won't be there. I feel like if I can just make it to my first exam and still have the baby, I can stop worrying about that as much.

First off:

CONGRATS!!!

If it makes you feel any better, my brother and his wife got married Dec. 31st, 2006..... They just had their first child, a girl, on October 7th this year. So if you do the math, she got preggers no later than 2 weeks after they got married!!! Jorryn was utterly unplanned and unexpected, but everyone is glad she's here.

Try to keep your stress levels down, join a new baby support group, do things you want to do before the baby gets here. Definitely nap when the baby does!! Its great that you have such a convenient setup for an amazing price. That alone should help keep the amount of stress down. Enjoy every day of being pregnant! Take lots of pictures, and remember that you're one of the lucky ones.

My hubby and I have been married for 6 months. He wants a baby like yesterday lol. We already have names picked out for when I get pregnant.
