Prancing his way through the forest, Imrikalto hummed happily to himself. A little darker than his silver-dappled sire, he glinted like a red dappled shadow through the woods. White and black banner tail streaming behind him, he wound his way around the trees with a dancer's grace.
He was in a fine mood, having spent the morning racing with his Godbrother, and Winning!
"I won!" He called as a shadow passed over the trees.
"Next time, Brother!" Aureate challenged back.
"Next time you'll lose again." Imri chuckled to himself, and picked up his pace to a smooth canter.
What a fine day!

 Having spent much of the very early morning wandering around on her own. Taipa had explored nearly every inch of her mother's expanse of land. From the frozen over brook to the snowy fields. She had heard much about winter from both her parents. But...she had been born with snow on the ground. The only thing that was a mystery to her was spring and summer. Still being fairly young and just nearly a full adult, she had yet to experience those types of seasons.
Finding a nice sloping hill, Taipa cleared out a patch of snow. Letting the wet earth trapped beneath it have a breather before she flopped down onto her side. Letting out a little oof as she did it. The ground was so cool. And her mother often told her she'd get sick laying around in the frozen spots like this. But she didn't care.
Taipa rolled onto her back. Letting her curly mane wrap around her face and ears. Her tail flicking back and forth before she wiggled her whole body against the ground. Blue eyes closed to the world as she let out a less than attractive yawn.

As he pranced through the woods, each breath he exhaled was a puff of fog... Icy crystals hung from the branches... White snow on the ground... Snow that reached right up his white socks, touching his dapples. Lifting his legs a little higher he made his way out of the woods and into the open land, moving along the lighter snow with easy strides.
What to do today?
Who on earth?
Seeing a mare laying on the frozen ground, Imri hurried over -carefully- to see if she had fallen. Maybe she was hurt!
"Madam?" He called as he approached. "Are you alright?"

The young mare's eyes popped open at the sudden voice. Rolling onto her side, she lay there. Looking up at the strange and unfamiliar stallion curiously. "Mmmyea?" Her voice was lazy as she drew the words out slowly. Ears perked forward as she looked the stallion up and down. Making no notion of even trying to hide it. Not that she was sizing him up, maybe a little, but she had never seen him before. But its not like she'd met many others besides her family before either.
Giving a toss of her running wild curls, she raised an eyebrow at him. What did he want? It surly couldn't be that she was trespassing. More likely it was he who was doing the trespassing.

'As bold as brass this one...' Imri thought to himself as she gave him a good once-over. What was she looking for?
"So, you did not fall?" He asked, tilting his head slightly. "You are, alright?"
He probably wasn't supposed to be out this far.. But after racing Aureate he had been thinking to visit his mother... And Atsila.. Wouldn't she be surprised at how he'd grown!

A wide grin spread across her face. Was he for real? Leaning her head down, she scratched at an itch behind her ear with a back hoof. Stopping for a second, she raised her eyebrows at him. Curly tail tapping against the ground a few times. "Nah. Haha. I didn't fall. Yes, I'm alright."
Boy, he sounded like a mama hen with those questions. Taipa shook her head. Dislodging a few flurries of snow that had made a home on her head. "I was just relaxin'."

"Relaxing..." He echoed blandly... "On the frozen ground... After a good snow... You find that relaxing?"
Boy! Where was her mother? And why hadn's he knocked some sense into this filly? More importantly, where was his mother? She lived around here! Wouldn't she have told this mare that wasn't the wisest idea?
"Don't you know you can get sick from doing things like that?"

"Well, not for long periods of time. Eventually it gets a bit...cold." Her grin turned a bit crooked. Ears perking forward as he spoke. He didn't seem like one who was easily amused. Kind of...stoic. If that was the word she was looking for. Sometimes she knew what she meant but used the wrong words. Either way.
Lifting herself off the ground, she gave her body a little shake and her tail a few more flicks. "Don't you know you can get sick other ways besides just laying in the snow for a short period of time?" Taipa gave a little snort. "It takes more than just laying about in the snow to get sick."

Imrikalto shook his head, not knowing what to say to that... It wasn't really gentlemanly to argue with a Lady... But.. It really wasn't healthy for her to be laying about in the snow...
"Nevermind..." He said softly. "Well met, Lady of the Snow... I am Imrikalto, do you have a name? Or shall I try to guess?"
He grinned and titled his head, lips curling playfully. "Ice?"

Lady?
Taipa wondered who exactly the parents of this stallion where. Probably some snooty old farts who did nothing but call people 'Lady' and 'Sir'. How awkward that might be. To have to be prim and proper.
"Pifft. There ain't no lady here. I'm no lady, I assure you." A crooked grin spread across her grey lips as she sized this stallion up. Wondering if she could take him in a race. She had been practicing after all.
"Y'ever see a lady wrestle in the mud? Or spit? Highly doubt it." Her curly tail flicked back and forth thoughtfully. Taipa wasn't one for pretty trappings or fru fru greetings. No. "The names Taipa. Nice to meet'cha Imirkalto."

For whatever reason -some absurd one he could not name- the name seemed, well, familiar... Imri shook it off, knowing he'd not met this mare before... She certainly was an odd one, hell bent on acting like a rebellious teenager.
"No, I don't suppose I've seen a Lady wrestle in mud." He replied cautiously. "But my father -Sibalto- taught me that all mares are ladies... So, excuse me, but I'm a bit conflicted..."
He gave a crooked grin, charming in its boyish appeal.

"Would ya like ta? I'm sure I could dig up a nice patch of mud around here somewhere...." Glancing about, she squinted her eyes hard. Causing the skin around them to wrinkle as she focused on small spots of the ground. Though the ground still had snow, underneath the barren earth was damp and wet.
Ears perked as she caught the last bit of his reply. Her mind had wandered off before she even finished listening to him. "Sibalto huh? Thats an interesting name. My father's name is Hok'ee. Mother's name is Chu'mana. And I got three brothers, Yiska, Vasu, Chidi and one sister Shadi."

Well, he might not know her, or her siblings, but he CERTAINLY knew her parents. With a jump, Imri turned on her eagerly. "Your dad wore BOWS in his hair!"
He laughed. "And your mom scolded my sire once! I know of Chu'mana and Hok'ee... I've ne'er met them in person, but my sire was great friends with your da once... And Mom is fast friends with Chu'mana to this day... I'm Firefly's son!"
He spun around, excited beyond reason. What luck was this?

Heh. He seemed a bit too excited to hear of her lineage. An odd one indeed.
"Yea. My dad wears bows in his hair still. Its sumthin' special that he does for my mom. But hey, thats their thing." Taipa was not familiar with the name Firefly. Her own mom rarely ventured out now a days, she was still busy taking care of Taipa and her brother Chidi to go roaming about. And her parents had never mentioned much about their own personal friends. But eh.

The mare before him didn't seem to care that their parents knew each other.. Nor did she really seem to care that he thought it was funny, or exciting... But somehow, Taipa seemed like a steady sort... Not very excitable...
"It is indeed interesting.." He replied, trying for neutrality... "So? What do you do for fun? Aside from roll in the snow and mud..."
