It was nice to not have to ponder over questions once left unasnwered. No more worries over checking various tests any more, no more crying in bathroom floors or behind clsoed doors, no more fighting over it even. Granted the fights were rare and what to begin with but they still weren't enjoyable. Yup, it was confirmed that she was pregnant and that was a load off his mind.
But now came the other parts to being pregnant: The shopping. Now usually he didn't complain but he was getting the inkling that Sam would be the type to want specifics for specifics when it came to what she was going to be wearing, what furniture they were getting, what nursery designs and what not, and then there was the mass amounts of chocolate ice cream and skittles. He liked the last one. "OKay then...I assume we have a list for this shopping trip?"
((Sam/Xe, Ryan/Chloe. Department store because it's a common setting. Sorry for the crappy start, I'm kinda imploding at the exact moment.))

Yes, she was positively glowing with the knowledge that she was hiding two very small fetuses in her womb at that very moment. The tests had finally come back positive and they'd had a celebration session that had lasted far longer than originally planned. But after the initial euphoria Sam's logical side kicked into gear and she started planning. "There's more than a list, Casanova. There's a whole notebook." Reaching into her bag she withdrew a green notebook and flipped it open. "Okay, we don't need to move towards baby items just yet since we aren't for sure sex and whatnot." Flipping to another divider labeled clothing, she tapped one nail on the sheets. "Maternity clothes. Oh, this is so exciting. And I might as well get some lingerie while I'm here, too. More support is definitely going to be needed when our babies set off hormones."

List apparently was an understatment which he silently observed when he took the notebook that was handed over and held it as she flipped pages to their appropriate spot for him. "Notebook already? Didn't think you had that much time on your hands...you didn't sleep during earlier today did you?" They were up rather early for their vampiric selves, but you had to be when things closed at 'normal hours'. "Just because we don't know sex doesn't mean we can't shop. Cribs and the like are hardly something that needs to be customized for such things.
Eyes back to the pages as she flipped and oh joy the clothes shopping. Hopefully this wouldn't spur the fat debate. She was supposed to be puffy with life and what not. But he did give her a smirk and one of those looks at his at the mention of lingerie...well there went the fat argument worries. "Hm, I think I'm going to enjoy this after all...are you even sure what size you need or did you do some mathematical calculations in your head that are within an eighty five percent range of being right because you had a tapemeasure and time?"

Ryan sighed as he watched his wife scramble amongst the women's clothing. It seemed all the talk of doctors had gotten her hopes up, and she had decided to stock up on maternity and lounge wear "just in case". Not wanting to start a fight he hadn't protested, but instead felt a little sympathetic as she stressed and obsessed over trivial details. He leaned his head back against the bench, letting out a sigh. There would be this, then very soon would come the sadness when she would throw it all away. It had been like this for years, and as much as he tried to help it was just her way.

"I started preparing a little early I suppose, but no, I was too excited to sleep." She flipped back through the book and pulled a pencil out of somewhere random, making a mark on the sheet. "We can go look at cribs after this but it's important to be prepared." Snapping the notebook closed, she let him hold onto it and then turned towards the racks of clothing.
Xe always made her laugh and she danced back over to him and gave him a kiss because she was feeling affectionate right now. "You didn't think I was going to reward you for indulging me in what could only be the longest shopping trip of your life? Come now, Casanova, you know me better than that." Tapping his nose lightly. "If you're really good, I'll let you pick me something lacy, semi-revealing, and green." Thus taking his hand and tugging him into the racks of clothes, she stopped abruptly as she almost collided with another woman. "Excuse me."
Turning to make another comment to Xearus, Sam stopped, the comment dying on her lips, and blinked. Tapping the woman on the shoulder, she took another look at her. "I'm sorry but you look so familiar. Are you one of my patients? I'm Dr. Macalister...Dr. Mac as some like to call me."

"I knew it..." Shaking his head lightly and tucking the notebook under hsi arm, scrunching his nose lightly as she tapped it. Her mood definitely proved well now didn't it? Much. "Oh really now? I think I can withstand such a shopping trip, after all we I'm getting rewarded." Thusly following after her and letting her lead on, though he about ran her over as she stopped so suddenly. A blink then and a look between the two women. "Are you going places and knowing people again Sammers?" Was this woman...a patient Sam once had or something?

Chloe blinked, pushing her hair behind her ear. The woman did look sort of familiar, but she couldn't place why. Certainly she would have remembered a doctor though, she had seen enough of them. Maybe she had forgotten. Quickly shifting the handful of clothes onto her other arm she held out her hand, offering a smile, "I'm not sure. I'm Chloe Walden." Pointing over to the bench she added, "That's my husband Ryan, maybe I've seen you at one of his conventions. What kind of doctor are you?"
Ryan gave her a little wave then got to his feet, drudging to her side as she went on. He placed a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it softly as he added, "They don't need your life story angel."

She simply rolled her eyes, "You're such a man, Casanova." Though attention to the girl and she shrugged, "Never know who you're going to run into. Small world after all. You just look so familiar..."
Walden...that was too common of a name to know for sure. There were those certain names that showed up many times like Jones or Smith and then there were the semi-common names like Michaelson or Anderson. Walden was an Anderson. She shook her hand and smiled, "Samantha Calder and this is my husband Xearus. I go by Dr. Macalister at work because it's easier that way. I'm an OBGYN at Grace Memorial." Sam wasn't too sure how to react to her husband so she merely stuck out a hand. "Dr. Samantha Macalister. I thought you wife was one of my patients, actually, but I could be wrong. You're a doctor as well?"

He shoved his hands in his pockets. "That I am, no denying that." Smirking lightly but watching the women as they went about trying to figure things out. It was kinda cute...though was it odd considering where they were in the store? He was cognitively referring to it as Department B...as in baby stuffs. His own mental processes did amuse him. But he nodded with a pleasant smile as they took to introducing everyone. "Oh no, are we a handful of doctors?" That would be amusing if they all had that fun title in front of their names.

At the mention of an OBGYN Chloe's eyes lit up. She shook her head, leaning back against Ryan's arm. "I'm in school to be an English teacher," she admitted, blushing faintly. It was strange, she wasn't usually ashamed of not having a doctorate, but in this bunch she felt a little inferior.
Ryan smiled, running his hand over her hair. "I doubt they'd know me then angel," he told her, then turned back to them. "I work in research, medical botany," he explained, trying to avoid talking about babies. That would only get her started again after all, and this was proving to be an alright distraction from it.

"An English teacher? Well, I can't say that career path would excite me but I'm sure you and Xearus would find a lot to talk about. He loves Shakespeare and Chaucer and whatnot." Rolling her eyes and sticking her tongue out with a giggle. She caught the look in Chloe's eyes and recognized it immediately since she'd worn the same anytime a new option had appeared. "So if you're ever in the market for one, remember me." Giving her a wink since both women knew just how important such doctors were to their gender.
Emerald eyes moved over to the male. "You have my utmost respect then, Dr. Walden. It is your work that makes mine so much easier." Glancing meaningfully at the hanging sign that read out the state she was currently in, she gestured and grinned. "Are you two expecting?"

He chuckled. "Sam's got a revulsion to things English. Comes from college, but then again she's a whizz at that sciency stuff so it seems the opposite would hold true as well. Medical botany sounds right up her alley." Oh sciency things...he'd rather not indulge in that. Gave him grief in college. "I'll stick to my psychology teachings thank you very much. Distoring those young minds and so on and so forth." Mm, he loved his jokes. But he watched his wife with a grin as she had that all excited look that he just loved to see her get. If anything, life had gotten all the better since she had gotten pregnant. No more crying on the bathroom floor.

"No," Chloe said with a twinge, "Not yet, but we've been trying." Thinking this woman might have some insight into the community of fertility doctors she added, "Have you ever heard of a Doctor Ronchas? Someone suggested him to me but I can't find much information on him." It seemed a sort of blunt thing to ask about, but it had been on her mind for a while.
Ryan nodded solemnly as she launched into her next rant. This would probably last all the way home, even if it was temporarily shut down. Hoping to skirt the subject he turned to Samantha with a smile, "I'm sure it's still a good bit more difficult than mine. After all, human life is much more complex than a dab or two of pollen."

She chuckled and wrapped an arm around Xe's waist, squeezing him lightly for a moment. "I understand." She remembered those days and thought she saw the same sadness in Chloe's eyes that had been in hers so many times. Working up the nerve to question her a little more to see if she could help, she wondered if it would be wise to mention the solution that they had found. Then blinking for a moment. "Dr. Ronchas? Yes, I know quite a bit about him, actually. He runs a fertility clinic called Double Trouble. Are you thinking about alternative options? How long have you been trying?" Then glancing around. "You know...we could go get a cup of coffee or a snack in the food court and talk about some of this. Would you be open to that? I can tell you pretty much anything you'd like to know." A glance to her husband. "Xearus can too because we've been there. Dr. Ronchas is our doctor."

Apparently this guys name had been getting around and what not on the various health circuits and what not. Then again Xearus didn't seem to think that was too strange...and that was strange in and of itself. But sometimes he tried not to think too hard about things or the inside voice in his head would become the outside voice. "Meeting people wherever we go." But a grin at Ryan. "Well...human life is complex, but they can be in the lower heirarchy as well compared to others around here." Shoving one hand in his pocket. "Yes that's right...we went and saw him ourselves and well, no we're here."
