NAME OF LOCATION - Penal Colony Omega - "Planet Hell"

DESCRIPTION - Penal Colony Omega is located on a planetary body simply known as "Planet Hell". This place is reserved only for some of the worst criminals in the Beta Quadrant and is run by the Klingon Government. Simply put, beam-outs are virtually impossible due to the powerful radiation that permeates every corner of the planet's atmosphere and surface. Surface temperatures at the planet's poles are cooler than the rest of the planet at a "chilly" 500 Degrees Kelvin. The equatorial regions are dominated by temperatures as high as 1000-1500 Degrees Kelvin, and have oceans of liquid magma in some areas. Volcanic and seismic activity is off the charts, and is commonplace on this world.

The Colony itself is actually underground in an isolated facility. A force field prevents beam-outs of prisoners within the complex, except by guards and personnel. The only interaction for food, supplies, or otherwise comes from a chute with a powerful locking mechanism and several redundant force fields and locks. Prisoners have their own dwellings in "The Pit" as its called, and can roam freely for the most part. Guards simply sit and watch the action from above the complex. If, for some reason, guards must enter The Pit, they take only close combat weapons, leaving long distance phasers or disruptors to their sharp-shooters up above for cover. Do not test Klingon strength or resilience in combat, for they WILL overpower you...

Arrival Routine for Prisoners
Prisoners set to serve time on "Planet Hell" are first loaded into a transport vessel. Over time the vessel enters and navigates its way to the penal colony. The atmosphere of the planet is thick with acids and toxins that disrupt a ship's shields and eat away at the hull preventing long-term storage of ships or vessels. The radiation covering the planet's surface and atmosphere disrupts transporters until a height of 1000 meters, allowing only a diving transporter swoop to take place to deliver or pick up individuals. This leaves no ship on the surface for use by escaping prisoners or guards, and the range of the transporters only allows beaming slightly below the surface to a cave connecting the Command Center from the rest of the complex and The Pit.

Once prisoners arrive here, they are stripped of all weapons or other technological equipment and are sent down into The Pit via the chute. The Complex is completely self-sustaining. Replicators, air-scrubbers, and various other methods allow the entire colony to operate without outside assistance, and the entire area is air-tight. As a rule, no technology that could be used to create beam weapons is allowed in The Pit. Once you're in "Planet Hell" you're going to wind up staying for the rest of your sentence. No one has ever escaped Omega. A select few have managed to make it into the chute, only to be killed on the escape attempt. However, if one behaves, they need not suffer this place. Only truly vile criminals will be sent here...

LOCATION - Penal Colony Omega is located in a virtually destroyed solar system in the distant reaches of Sector O-12

PEOPLE - There are only two kinds of people present on Planet Hell. Ruthless Klingon Guards and ruthless criminals. Neither of these two are all that pleasant to be around...

CLIMATE - Toxic, acidic atmosphere that eats away at a ship's hull. Roiling temperatures unlike any other planet known to date. Lethal radiation levels that prevent all but the most suicidal beam-outs and disrupt shielding. Terrifying levels of seismic and volcanic activity with rivers of molten magma. All of these make Planet Hell live up to its name, and more...

RESOURCES - No method of extracting any possible resources can survive the climate of Planet Hell.

OTHER ASTRONOMICAL DATA - The solar system that Omega is located in is virtually destroyed completely. Planet Hell is the ONLY surviving planet of an unknown number of worlds. But what they have left behind offers a terrain for raids unlike any other known to the Beta Quadrant Exploration Initiative, which is strange when considering what lies within the system...

The Star - Hades - The aptly named "Hades" is the solar body that the entire system surrounds. The Star is larger than Sol in the human system, and is much hotter and far more violent, spewing out massive waves of radiation and energy. This radiation eventually builds and releases from the star's inner layers in terrible blasts of energy that rip through the system. It is believed that the only planet to survive these repeated bombardments over the eons is "Planet Hell" due to its strong magnetic field. However, other planets in the system have been far less lucky. Hades will eventually become a red giant star before erupting into a supernova, and may one day collapse back into a Black Hole, finally ending everything in the system...

The Inner Belt - The Inner Belt is an asteroid field that circles the inner section of the system where a few smaller planets may have once resided. All that exists here now are trillions of tons of rock, metals, and shards that now orbit the solar plane as grisly reminders of what once was. The Inner Belt is bathed in radiation from Hades. This hellish radiation drops sensor readings by 80% as it disrupts the signals sent by a ship's instruments much in the way a jamming signal works. However, shields and other systems operate without any ill effects from this radiation. Visual contact, and using the asteroids for cover, is an important part of any attack in this section of the system.

"Planet Hell" - Wedged smack-dab in between the two asteroid belts is Planet Hell itself. The elements that make up this planet were bathed in Hades' radiation during formation, and it was this process that gives the planet and its atmosphere its radiation levels. Inner layers of the planet have since lost their radioactivity, but the outermost layers have been re-energized by the radiation from Hades. However, the planet is slowly losing its radioactivity due to its magnetic field, which prevents more radiation from reaching the planet. In several million years, the radiation levels may drop off to non-lethal levels. But until then, the planet is as inhospitable as ever.

The Outer Belt - The Outer Belt is roughly the same size as the Inner Belt, but does not get bathed in nearly as much radiation. This allows sensors to be compensated for. As good as this seems at first, it also means that detection is much easier in this environment, leaving the options for stealth quite limited, unless you have a cloaking device... Improvisation is a must in the Outer Belt. Larger ships will have trouble maneuvering through the more densely packed sections, while smaller ships will be able to speed by with relative ease. Ducking behind asteroids is also a good method to evade detection or weapon fire. However, they are not to numerous that every enemy shot will be able to be blocked... (No abusing the asteroid protection.)

The Nebula Belt - This section is the outermost feature of the Hades system. It is believed to have been formed by the destruction of the system's gas giant planets, possibly by tidal forces from Hades' violent history simply shearing its planets to pieces of rock, dust, and gas. The Nebula Belt has a strong electromagnetic charge, which disrupts shields completely, but allows them to return (5 turns) at full strength, as long as the shield generators haven't been damaged in which case the shields will return at 50%, after the harmonics have been adjusted to fit the nature of the nebula. However, the same electromagnetic forces within this nebula also prevent a ship's sensors from penetrating it. The only way for a ship to determine what is within the nebula is to enter it and recalibrate their sensors to filter out the disturbances (2 turns).

The IRW Lubato dropped out of warp at the edge of the system, entering the Nebula Belt. Commander V'renek was on the bridge as the massive vessel drifted towards the Penal Colony at full impulse power.

Drop our cloak and raise shields...

The bridge officers all turned to face their commanding officer with looks of shock clearly evident on their usually stoic faces. The First Officer moved to V'renek's side and leaned in to speak.

But, Commander, if I may be so bold, doing so will allow enemy ships to know of our location.

V'renek kept his steely gaze directed towards the viewscreen as he replied.

That may be, but if we do not, the Klingons may interpret our arrival as a sign of aggression, and as much as I harbor contempt for their wretched species, I will not risk a war with them over something as simple as a prisoner drop off...

As you wish, Commander.

The First Officer then repeated the order and the Lubato wavered into view, immediately catching the attention of the Klingon sensors posted throughout the system. Soon enough, a hail was sent to them along with a visual request.

Quote:
This is the Base Commander of the Klingon Penal Colony, Omega.

State your business here, Romulan curs, or you shall be nothing but floating hulks of scorched hull plating...

V'renek responded with practiced Romulan cool, his tone seeming to hide idle threats of his own as he stared at the Klingon on the viewscreen.

Such a... hearty... Klingon welcome is most gracious, Base Commander.

This is Commander V'renek of the IRW Lubato, Romulan Command Ship of the Beta Quadrant Exploration Initiative. We have come to deliver prisoners to your...fine establishment.

There was a pause for a moment before the Base Commander spoke again. This time, his voice was less threatening, but only slightly...

Quote:
Very well, Commander... But be warned, you enter this territory at your own risk. You will receive no assistance from us if you encounter any resistance, and you are a very long away away from help... Raiders are common here.

It is noted, Base Commander. However I doubt any of your raiders would dare challenge the Romulan Command Ship... Good day, Base Commander.

V'renek severed the communication and huffed as he sat back down in his chair.

Ridge-faced dogs... Daring to insult my vessel openly. They should consider themselves lucky we are not here to eliminate them.

Security Officer!

V'renek practically barked the order to the officer and the officer jumped to attention.

Yes, Commander!

Begin transport of the prisoners to the Penal Colony. Launch several shuttles and then beam the prisoners directly from their cells to them. I do not want to risk a running firefight in my corridors. Is that understood?

Yes, Commander!

And with that, the Security Officer left the bridge to begin preparations...

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

In the transporter rooms across the Lubato, the operators were standing by to receive telemetry for the shuttles saying they were ready to take on the captured rebel passengers. As the coordinates came up onto the screens, the display flickered, and the transporter chief slammed his hand onto the device, and the display corrected itself. He would reprimand his repair crew later, but right now, he had prisoners to beam.

Tene'cha and his men would soon find themselves experiencing the distinct whirling sensation of a transporter as they were converted from matter to energy, and back again. Tene'cha would be familiar with the interior of a Romulan shuttlecraft, however, he would find that this one was very different indeed...

He was inside of a small gray room, and the transporter pads at his feet were not those of a Romulan vessel, they were those of a Federation Vessel. As he looked around, he would find that he, and amazingly all of his other surviving crew members, would be on the pad, all 25 of them. As he scanned the walls, he might see something familiar, the ship's name. USS Arrowhead.

But before he could ponder that, he'd spy a man standing at the controls that he might remember as well. And he was a man that Tene'cha likely wouldn't remember very fondly...

Well well... Fancy meeting you here, Captain Tene'cha.

Forgive me, but I have something important to take care of before we can catch up...

It was none-other than Jacob Denning. He nodded and left the compartment. If Tene'cha tried to chase after him, he'd soon find that a force field had been placed around his position, preventing the rebels from leaving the pad.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Transporters answering transport complete, Commander.

Excellent... Thrusters to station keeping. Keep us here until the the shuttles return.

V'renek watched the viewscreen, expecting to see shuttles moving out towards the planet. However, this is not what he got.

Commander! Shuttles reporting that they did not receive the prisoners!

What?! What incompetence is this?!

Commander, vessel decloaking within the confines of the Lubato's wing structures!! Its raising shields and firing!!

The bridge of the Lubato rocked as a powerful hit to the ship send it reeling...

Notes
The Arrowhead Class Runabout was designed as an advanced scout as well as a high-warp transport craft for ferrying important persons to and from destinations. The ship's weaponry was designed after the highly successful Defiant Class, and her warp drive was created using ideas first utilized on the Ragnarok Class. The Regenerative Shielding allows the small ship to take a beating and still use her powerful engines to outrun most threats. But the arsenal of advanced weaponry onboard makes the Arrowhead Class a force to be reckoned with, even among starships three times its size.

The ship can be flown by as few as 1 crewman (ideally 2), but can hold approximately 20. Facilities include science, tactical, and helm in the cockpit, a dining area and room for cargo in the aft compartments, and a hatch to the engineering section in the far aft portion of the ship. One Jeffries tube is located under the floor of the cockpit, and can be used as a means of travel to any section of the ship in times of emergency. If the design proves successful, the Arrowhead Class may serve to replace the older Danube Class, as well as become standard equipment on larger starships.

Since the vessel’s takeover by Jacob Denning, the Arrowhead has been refitted with a stolen Romulan Cloaking device, among various other system upgrades. The ship’s cargo pods have been refitted to serve as storage for additional micro photon torpedoes for the ship’s arsenal, and one of the science pods has been completely overhauled to house a large transporter matrix, capable of transporting approximately 10 individuals simultaneously. The basic transporter assembly has been removed, and replaced with a single set of quarters and a restroom. The ship may be cramped when filled to capacity, but it can prove itself well in various situations that Denning finds himself in…

Jacob sat at the weapon console and directed his weapons towards the sensors of the Lubato. He was inside their own shields, and shielded himself, making for the perfect sneak attack to their unprotected systems. Knowing that warbirds like the Lubato had weak sensors, he launched everything his small vessel had to try to knock them out...

Quote:
Phaser damage: 5 x 10 = 50 x .75 = 38
Pulse Phaser damage: 15 x 10 = 150 x .80 = 120
Torpedo damage: 180 x 1.10 = 198

Total damage: 356 Damage to Sensors (1894 Left)

V'renek was furious. How could such a small ship evade detection for so long? How long had it been there? And how had it managed to slip between the wings of the Lubato in the first place?

The thought that something so irritating had taken place was infuriating, and even moreso was the fact that he had little he could do to prevent the enemy ship from attacking. But he could find ways to make it harder...

Engage the cloaking device. Even if we cannot return fire, they will be unable to fire on us. Once we are cloaked, move us off and charge weapons...

Yes, Commander. Right away.

The Lubato faded from view, leaving the Arrowhead floating where it was...

Of course, Jacob didn't intend to stick around and fight. He'd gotten what he'd come for, and that was good enough for him. The Arrowhead wavered and cloaked as it turned before jumping to warp and leaving the system...

Around 30 days at the Warp Speed calibrated to 7.5, he saw the Penal Colony Omega, known as Hades System. He was 950, 000 kilometers apart from the planet when he heard the beeps coming from his sensors.

"It appears that the enemies may be somewhere in the Hades Orbit. I know the people in the Hades planet are penurious, ruthless and despicable, may be criminals that exiled there, and the Klingon Guards."

A moment later, beeping continues to sound rapidly, raising to Red Alert Level.

He immediately recharge the warp coils for its maximum Warp Speed should emergency circumstances appeared to be imminent and inevitable. He also opens its Phasers and Torpedoes as a relatively mode of self-defense. He lowered his Warp speed and powered systems down.

"Few Plasma exhaust Trail was emitted from the cloaked Klingon ships. I guess it would be better to take extra-precautionary measures in the event that detection was taken place against me and they will become aggressive to fire against me.

He continued scanning the Penal Colony Omega System. Generally, no vessels in any form shall enter in the Hades System because of a very high levels of sulfuric acid in the atmosphere that could eat the ship's hull. These hulls are vital to the ship's function, otherwise, the ship is destroyed, leaving nothing but a scrap metal like those in the Typhus Debris Field.

Temperatures are very high, more than a fiery furnace of molten metal. Analysis would conclude that it is like a boiling brimstone, and a temperature so hot like being traveling along the mantle to the central core of the planet.

There are no resources extracted there. The prison camp serves a detention cells to all forms of heinous and debased form of criminality in the Planet. No access to this planet except transporters and chutes brought there. No information pertaining to the escape has known before.

After scanning, the warning beeps vanished, and danger levels disappeared. A moment later, after he gradually powered his systems on and gradually moved closely near the Outer Belt of the Planet, a sudden flash of light pointed directly to his vessel and directly hit into his shield. Terrified, he sounded the alarm and prepared the phasers and torpedoes.

Red Alert Level raised... Unknown ships detected....

The enemy ship finally decloaked itself as it goes toward the Nova Class. The Captain found out in the scan it was.....
Klingon Bird-of-Prey (B'rel Class)

The Captain, trembled in fear, open transmission feeds and replied:

USS Alnitak
This is USS Alnitak. Identify yourself.

However, the Klingon Bird of Prey B'rel Class does not respond. The Class VII Disruptor Cannons and 23rd Century Klingon Photon Torpedoes are ready to fire. The Emitters continue to charge to its maximum output, and so its Nova Class.

Suddenly, the Captain suddenly boosts its Warp Speed to 7 but the B'rel Class begins chasing him away. The B'rel Class fires multiple disruptor cannons but the Captain was able to dodge the deadly fire. He flew towards the Outer Belt for protection but the alarm beacon sounded from the Command Center of the Hades.

The alarm was brought to the attention of the Base Commander V'renek.

"Who is that intruder in a floating hulks in space? Don't let him get away."
Then he speaks in other words ignored by the Captain.

The B'rel class was very fast and the Nova Class vessel can't even travel away from it. He continued flying around in the Asteroid belt while the B'rel Class kept on chasing towards him.

While he continued accelerating his Warp Speed to 7 during the run, he heard a terrible news from afar. He deployed another Klingon vessel, a K'Vort Class flying at an incredible speed.

The B'rel was chasing on his back while the K'Vort flew towards him on the front. He suddenly whoosh down in the Outer Belt.

(((((OCC: Reserved Post. Next Part will be a tactical fight between a Nova Class and a B'rel Class using Weapons and Systems Statistics, respectively... If I commit something wrong in the calculation, I will recheck it hopefully.

Next episode is the escape of a Nova Class from a deadly Klingon Bird of Prey K'Vort class, going to the Phantom Nebula.))))

((((Continuation of the Sequel))))

The K'Vort Class began activating its cloaking devise, while the B'rel Class continued chasing the USS Alnitak Nova Class.

"It is mortifying if I immediately called for help from the Beta Array, thinking I go alone in a dangerous place. By the way, I now initialize the profile scan.

Signals activated....Scanning.
