The creme colored stallion did not yet know the news his lover held in her mind. He knew something was up lately, as she had seemed to be.. Happier. Something was going on in her head, and he would find out what it was.
He peered around the trees, his eyes watching teh lovely tan female as she walked around with ease and graze. He smiled, and wondered what mischevious little plot was going through her head right now.
His walked over to her, sapphire eyes gleaming as he stared at his mare. His mate. His only reason for being alive at the moment. She had taken him into her home in the forest, and had given him love and devotion.
He would return the favor to her ten-fold. And he'd love her forever.
"Bonjour, ma amore'."

Shaitani had indeed been troubling herself with certain thoughts and it had left her slightly detached from her world, she could even go so far as to say that her heads had been in the clouds just a little. She had been having thoughts she hadn’t entertained for a long time now, and if she had been able to see herself from another’s point of view, no doubt she would have been highly irritated with herself. However, she did as was normal for her – she had simply kept her thoughts to herself and not bothered anyone with them. Of course, now there was no one but Jean-Claude to tell, and he happened to be the last one Shai even wanted to mention this to.
It was with a smile that she heard the paler stallion approaching, her maw ripping a patch of clover from the forest floor in her grazing. For a few moments she simply stood there, grazing in the silence, her little blue tuft of a mane flopping slowly from side to side with her movements. Once she had fed herself and gotten rid of the hunger settled in her belly, she turned those bright sapphire eyes up towards the male that had greeted her so warmly.
“Good morning,” she said with a soft laugh on her tongue, mirth dancing in her eyes. She moved to take a step closer to him, nuzzling her head against his neck in affection. A soft smirk spread over her maw as she looked back up to him, head tilting slightly as she stared into the eyes that so closely mirrored her own. She had been happy since Jean-Claude came to stay with her, feeling not quite so alone as she had before, and even the departure of her own son (however temporary) couldn’t put a damper on her mood.

The stallion smiled as the darker mare came towards him with such affection. He glanced at her, a smile on his own lips as he raised an eyebrow slightly. His own head followed her movements, and he tilted his head right along with her.
"You seem to be in a strikingly good mood, ma petite." He said, nuzzling her affectionately, and taking a little time to n** at the strands of her mane.
Yes, he was smitten, and one day, he'd tell her how badly he wanted foals. After all.. Maybe foals would bring their happiness closer, and take them to a new level. Foals were always lovely. And when they came from a mare who loved you back, they would be all the better.
"What little thoughts have entertained your head?"

Shaitani laughed softly as she felt him n** at her mane, tossing her head slightly in an attempt to pull the blue fluff away from him. However, after a moment she simply let her head rest against his neck, her eyes shutting as she felt the warmth of his skin pressed against her cheek. It was comforting to be so close to someone, especially after she had spent so many years apart and alone. She had always had the boys, true, but they really couldn't compare with the love of a mate. They had kept her satiated for the time, but now that she had Jean, she was determined to keep him by any means. She had a feeling that the second time would be enough for her.
"I can't help being in a good mood," she said, pulling back to look up into his deep, sapphire eyes. "I'm happy for the first time in a long time instead of just merely being content," she said quietly, leaning in to nuzzle against his neck again, eyes closing as the silky locks of his mane brushed across her face.
"Thoughts?" she said finally, quirking a brow at him and putting on the best mask of innocence she could muster. She turned then, laughing softly as she began to trot back towards her patch of clovers. "I have no idea what you could possibly mean," she muttered, leaning down to pull away another mouthful of clover. She really was hungry.

Jean-Claude smiled as he felt her rest her head against him. He was indeed madly in love with the mare who had taken his affection so warmly. Never had he believed he'd be happy again. But the union of Jean and Shai was enough to make his heart beat for more than just happiness. He loved her.. And like her, he'd do anything to keep her.
"Good moods are grand indeed, my flower. I too, am as happy as I could be. But I feel the nagging question pulling at me.. What makes you so happy on such a fine day?" He asked, french accent thick, and rolling off his tongue like candy. He had a good voice. He always had.. It was one of the charming things about him.. But he never seemed to notice, it was Naina always pointing it out.
He watched her smile, and he also watched her turn to give herself some more of the clovers he had seen she liked so much. Keeping his ebony curls from his eyes, he looked at the mare, and grinned. "Are you playing me, ma petite?"

Shaitani simply remained quiet for a long few moments, eating her clovers and letting the taste of the sweet leaves linger on her tongue. Her eyes shut halfway, her mind turning slowly as she thought of just what to say to him. It wasn’t her nature to just come right out and admit it – no, it was much more in her personality to lead him along and dangle him on a line. It wasn’t as if she was cruel, no, she just liked games to a certain extent. She figured the joking, sweet stallion would take it with a light heart. After all, he seemed to enjoy her teases more often than not.
“Can I not simply be happy because the day is fine, or because I’m glad to see you?” she asked calmly, her eyes flashing amusement as she shifted them to look back towards him finally. She shifted to move back towards him slightly, her long and intricately braided tail swishing slowly behind her mocha-toned legs. For a few moments, she watched him, a soft smile spread across her maw as she took in all the little details about him that simply made her smile.
“Would I ever play with you?” she asked innocently, quirking a brow and managing to look as if she had no idea at all about what he meant. Of course, just because she managed to look as if she were clueless didn’t actually mean that she was – he probably knew that very well by now. She simply let out a soft laugh, like gentle, chiming bells, and turned her attention towards the bits of sky she could see between the branches of the canopy overhead. “Have you ever thought about having more children, Jean?” she said it calmly, with a sort of wondering tone to her voice. An innocent question, that was all really.

Jean just smiled. Ah yes, if she was smiling merely because she got to see him, then he should have been nicely relaxed. But the little mocha mare in front of him,was never this happy, and he had been living with her for some time already. He knew something else was the culprit for her excitedness. Yes, that's what it was. She seemed excited. Her eating had either grown, or she was indeed very hungry today. Her belly took a more rounded look, and he wasn't sure if he should think it to be the food, or..
He stopped. She was acting the same way that Nos had acted, had he been there long enough to see. Nos had grown a rounder belly, her attitude had become changed. She was happier.. Happier all the time. Her eating had greatly increased, but she had lacked the teasing quality that made his heart race for Shai. Even now, when she had this little secret, she was holding it back, unable to let it leave her lips, only to make him continue to be curious. That's what Shai had on him. She would never lose him, because she was everything he needed.
"Oh Shaitani, ma petite, what small thing are you hiding from me?" He asked, a smile on his lips as he too, teased.

Shaitani had never taken Jean to be stupid – on the contrary, it was partly his intelligence that brought her to be so pleased in him, to be so enrapt with him as she was. As such, she could hardly keep her games going for very long before he would inevitably figure them out. He was not dumb and though she lived to tease and twist words, he was growing accustomed to her ways and would soon be able to pick out exactly what she was trying to hide. In a sense, even that made her smile – to have someone smart enough to see through her little game was a challenge. It grew tiresome, toying with dimwits.
She watched the reaction on his face as he stopped, her brow quirking as she imagined him putting two and two together in his mind. She was aware that she was beginning to show, and her eating habits couldn’t go quite unmissed. She silently urged him on, hoping that he made the connection, simply because she liked that she didn’t have to quite spell everything out for him. However, at his words, she simply smiled – oh, but he did like to play these games with her as well, didn’t he?
“What could I possibly be hiding from you?” she said with a wicked smirk coiling the corner of her maw, her tail wavering slowly behind her as she took a few steps back towards her mate. She tossed her head slightly in an attempt to rid her vision of those short, choppy blue bits of mane, then settled her deep azure eyes back on him. “I think you know just as well as I do, by this point.”

He offered a genuine smile. One of happiness and knowing. He had indeed put two and two together. He was never a stallion to be considered dumb,he had the skills of a master when it came to games. After all..He was Jean-Claude, once a master of the little games. She was giving him silent eyes. She was happy, and she was masking what she was thinking to make him think harder.
But it was no need now..He knew. He knew in his heart, his gut, and his pretty little mare.
"Ma petite, could I have found you out to be pregnant with foals?" He asked, stepping towards her, sapphire gaze soft and kind as he inched closer, before standing right in front of her, close enough to touch noses should she look up further.
"Dandy little foals whom shall be glorious as their mother and legends as their father?"

Shaitani let the smirk over her mug fade slowly into a true smile, her nose shifting up and to the side so she could nuzzle it against his own. Her eyes shut partially, finally letting herself feel his warmth, be content with the knowledge that they would soon have a family. There had never been a true family with the father of her sons, the older boys who had now left home to find their own families. This brood, however, would thrive in a home with a mother and father. This time around, she really hoped to be a much better mother than she had the first time. She had every confidence that she could do it, especially with Jean-Claude’s help.
“Yes, my love,” she said quietly, leaning her head against his nose, her eyes still shut as she stood there. “We are having children together,” her words were soft, as lilting as ever, but it was obvious that the thought of children was overwhelming her mind. She had been content for a long time before she met Jean-Claude, and now with him and the prospect of a future family, she was for once truly happy.

Jean smiled, looking into his mates soft blue eyes. Blue eyes, that he hoped his children recieved. He was going to be so much better this time.. His children would love him, and he'd raise them as best he could with Shaitani. With a mothers love, and a fathers strength, the family could very well go far.
He nuzzled her gently, closing his eyes to take in the scent of her. She smelled so sweet, and he nuzzled where her mane met her neck, nipping gently.
"Ma amoure'.." He whispered softly. He only used the term when he was indeed pleased, and couldnt be happier. Only when he remembered why he loved his mate so much..
"I shall give you the world." He said quietly.

Shaitani’s brilliant eyes closed as she felt the soft touch of her mate, taking in the scent of his hair as is spread against her cheek. It was moments like this that she realized her life could truly have the happiness that she had always dreamed of, that for once she might be capable of being something more than she had ever been. Her head leaned against his, a soft sigh on her maw as she let herself day dream for a moment.
The thought of a family, a functional happy one, gave her more joy than she could ever have imagined. She loved her sons, but it had been hard to raise them alone, and she thanked the heavens every day that she had simply managed to turn them into decent stallions. Raising foals was always a struggle, but she was sure that this time would be different. With the love of her mate and what they shared between them, these foals would have so much more than she could have offered before.
His words brought a smile to her maw yet again, gentle eyes opening to stare towards his own, “And I will share that world with them, my love.”
