Have you guys ever dreamt of the perfect theme song to fit an epic battle, quiet village, or other cliche? I'm working on improving my compositional and orchestration skills, and if you guys have ideas, post them here. I'll PM you with my ideas, and if you want to PM me an e-mail address or something of that nature, I can e-mail you a sound file with the piece, either completed or in progress.
I'm one of those people that gives certain theme songs to different situations, just in my head, so I'd glad to give some actual stuff to my fellow bards.

I use all my theme songs from Nobou Uematsu, hes a freakin musical genus. He did all the final fantasy music and so far i cant find any better music for any Rpg games.

I love you. o.0 why? Might i add I also have 90-99% of all his final fantasy music hes done. Im listening to it now actually. I also have alot of zelda music but that is way inferior to Final Fantasy... though final fantasy does slightly lack on cave music.

I am a massive fan of Uematsu's work. Every Final Fantasy he's done has had fantastic music. While the cave music is a bit lacking, almost all of it is wonderful and inventive, especially considering the tools he had to work with at the time of creation.

For some good rock themes I also use "Dragon Force" its the hardest rock known to man!

Oh yeah, Imagin the Dark theams of Iced earth with the Wizardly vocals of Blind Guardian. They came out in 2000 with their first album "Demons & Wizards", and 2005 with their second one "Touched by the Crimson King", supposedly they are thinking about doing a tour with Demons & Wizards, so supposedly their next album will come out early 2009.

Epicness, huh? Well, like what was said before, Iced Earth, Demons & Wizards, Blind Guardian, and Dragonforce. Prolly the best music if you want anything with an epic feel.
