The disappointment showed heavily on Zain's face. The courtyard was empty again. Where was the life, the excitement, and the fun? Definitely not here in this stupid place. Sure, he could go to the main courtyard, the one between the two temples, but the young Zeltron wasn't exactly sure that he wanted to talk to a Sith just yet. He'd heard things and thought it best if he distance himself for the time being. However, if the Temple stayed like this for too much longer, then he'd just have to take his chances with the icky Sith. At least death by...whatever the Sith did was better than death by boredom.

Making the transition from Zeltros, a planet constantly thrumming with celebration, to the serene Jedi Temple had been tough. It was still tough. Taking a step deeper into the courtyard, Zain looked at the plants surrounding him, sighing as he did so. Plants were boring. The Temple was boring. Being a Jedi was boring.

Flopping down onto the ground, he stretched out onto his back and faced the sky, sighing again. "Bored, bored, bored."

Jiri was finally emerging from a few days of self-imposed solitude during which she had healed the cut in her cheek and attempted, less successfully, to heal the wounds to her pride. She had been sitting in artificial dank and dark for long enough and wanted to go exploring again, but there was far too much hustle and bustle in the main courtyard for her to feel like facing it again just yet.

Instead she turned her attentions to the smaller, private courtyard of the Jedi temple. Having shed her boots and outer tunic in the muggy heat, she was now wandering the paths barefoot, the loose bottoms of her pants sweeping her ankles and her undershirt sticking to her back with slick sweat.

The tizowyrm in her ear chattered a translation of a statement made another path over. The voice sounded young enough, perhaps her own age, and nicer than the girl who had tried to beat her up. Smiling, Jiri stepped off the path and made her way through the trees. Time to make a new friend, she thought as she emerged on the other side.

"Hello!" she said to the bright red boy.

The small human made his way lightly through the halls, face neutral and oddly unlit by the seemingly constant curiosity he held. The warmth around him was comforting, reminding him of summers spent working at the fields. A little muggy, though, the reason why his outer tunic was left open and loose despite the possible disrespect that might bring. Surely any adult would understand the heat was a bit difficult to bare in that attire. Hopefully, anyways...

Jin hovered lazily along side him, beeping groggily every now and then in a sort of basic droid grumble. Or maybe it was a drone. Or... something.

Everything seemed so lazy, so bored and overused. Or perhaps not used enough, it was difficult to say. Edan himself, well, he was bored beyond belief. Or perhaps just... ugh, never mind.

He blinked when the sound of youngling voices reached him. Jin let out a shocked beep before zipping out and away into the courtyard. Edan let out an exasperated sound before following, blinking yet again to see the droid bouncing between two other kids of his own age. A red-skinned boy and... a... skeleton with skin? "Ah, sorry, we're not interrupting something, are we?" With all the training sessions going on lately, it was best to be aware and attempt to not mess something up. That would really be embarrassing.

Methodically attempting to produce an airborne spit-bubble from his position on the ground, Zain was surprised and even a tad bit startled when the greeting met his ears. Rolling over onto his side, he saw a girl...something. But never the mind what she was, it was the fact that she was here and talking that made the Zeltron spring to his feet.

"Hey," he replied, wiping his mouth with his forearm. Maybe blowing spit-bubbles wasn't the best thing to do in a fancy Jedi temple surrounded by fancy Jedi people. He had learned from the encounter with Jedi-person Kailey that fancy Jedi people didn't like anything even remotely fun. Probably why the place was so dead.

"It sure is a hot, boring day today," he commented to the girlthing, trying extra hard not to say anything that would cause him to get pushed to the ground again. It was time to be a no fun Jedi.

Before anything else could be said, a hovering droid randomly zoomed into the company of the two children, soon followed by a red-haired boy. At the appearance of the boy and his droid, Zain allowed a grin to slip onto his face. This was a pleasant turn of events. More people equals more fun!

"Nope. I was just sittin' here alone until she, then you, showed up. Now we have enough for a party!" Failure at attempt to be a no fun Jedi, 100%.

"It is," agreed Jiri as she tugged at her shirt, trying to unstick it. Oh yuck. How uncomfortable! And where had all these people come from all of a sudden? She'd thought the courtyard was empty. Oh well, back to attempting to figure out social interactions...

She forced a smile that looked passably natural. This kind of facial expression always seemed like it ought to be a threat, even if she knew better.

"There's a fountain in the main courtyard," she mused, "And several streams."

But she didn't want to go to the main courtyard. What if whats-her-face was still lurking around?

She turned and managed a smile for the other two people who had appeared, the knight and the boy about her own age, but her eyes twitched a bit in reaction to the droid. But never mind that.

"I'm certain that there's something, somewhere to do."
