NAME: Arian I DESCRIPTION: The planet Arian I is the first one in the Arian System. It is classified as a Class N planet, and contains high levels of carbon dioxide and sulfide. Except for mountain ranges and what could be the remains of dried lake beds, the land seems barren and uninhabitable. This planet's physical qualities are very much like the planet Mars, which is near Earth. LOCATION: Arian I is 20 light years away from Space Dock 12. PEOPLE: This planet shows no known humanoid or other live signs. CLIMATE: High surface temperatures suggests that the pressure from the planet's core is pushing large amounts of noxious gases into the atmosphere. There is little, or no, wind movement on the planet and there are no signs of water. RESOURCES: This planet consists of 40% sulfide. There are also trace amounts of carbon, lithium, and uranium. OTHER SYSTEM INFORMATION: Arian I has a deformed moon orbiting the planet at a 30 degrees angle. The moon's shape and craters suggests that something big might have came in contact with it, perhaps the past remains of Arian III. NAME: Arian II DESCRIPTION: Arian II is the second planet in the Arian System. This is a Class H planet with no visible large physical features. The land is barren, and much of the atmosphere is clouded with sand and choatic wind movements. LOCATION: Arian II approximately 25 light years away from Space Dock 12. PEOPLE: This planet shows no known humanoid or other live signs. CLIMATE: At least two sand storms takes form on the planet's surface at one point in time. The high winds shifts sand (the only material on the planet) around constantly, making scans difficult and transporting impossible. RESOURCES: None that are valuable. OTHER SYSTEM INFORMATION: Arian II has no moons orbiting it, however, it is dangerously close to Arian III (only 60 trillion km apart). NAME: Arian III DESCRIPTION: Arian III is the third planet in the Arian System. This planet is classified as a Class D planet. A large part of the planet's southern hemisphere is missing. It can be surmised that its missing pieces are the cause of the deformity of Arian I's moon. The land is completely barren and covered in methane ice. LOCATION: Arian III approximately 25 light years away from Space Dock 12. PEOPLE: This planet shows no known humanoid or other life signs. CLIMATE: Small pockets of methane gas occationally escapes from cracks in the icy surface. The atmophere contains large quantities of methane, and trace signs of oxygen and nitrogen. RESOURCES: None that are valuable. OTHER SYSTEM INFORMATION: Arian III has no moons orbiting it, however, it is dangerously close to Arian II (only 60 trillion km apart). NAME: Arian VI DESCRIPTION:Located as the last planet of four, Arian VI is a Class M planet, able to sustain humanoid life. Like Earth, Arian VI is composed of both Sea and Land, yet the sea here, from orbit, seems to be tinted with a slight purple hue. The Land creates intricate patterns across the surface, and makes up most of the mass of the world in the Eastern Sector of the world. In the western section, the opposite effect reflects the enormous landmass on the opposite side. Starships should be cautioned that Arian IV has a magnetic grasp that could easily catch a starship, and pull it into it's orbit, at the least. The more desireable way to reach the planet is through a shuttlecraft, if avaliable, leaving the mothership to orbit from a far distance. LOCATION:Arian VI is approximately (give or take a few) 30 light years from Deep Space Twelve. PEOPLE:The people of Arian VI are humble, and have the technological ability to dwell in space, yet have, for reasons unspoken, have never taken steps to that goal. Their skin is tinted in a healthy purple hue, including purple lips and iris. Distinct ridges along their temples, spiraling down to their collar bones, indicate a species of limited telepathic nature. These ridges are cartilage, and some are pierced as a fashion popular among Arian VI's of teenage years. Their race are known as the Nairs, and populate most of Arian VI, leaving some land for the animals and plants to develop. CLIMATE:The thick atmosphere traps and released both heat and cool weather. It is pleasantly warm during the nights, yet very chilly for humans during the days. Due to a layer in their atmosphere, snow melts before reaching the ground, creating a mist of warm rain, contrasting the cold air. The occupants of Arian IV enjoy this weather extremely much. RESOURCES:With a lack of fertile soil, most of the plants are grown in rough conditions or underground, making them tasteless for the normal human standards. Some spices, cultivated and carefully grown, are extremely prized for the inhabitants of Arian IV. They do have a substantial lumber industry, of thick, and extremely sturdy wood. OTHER SYSTEM INFORMATION:Arian IV has two moons orbiting, Centu and Utnec. Both have strong magnetic poles that did not aide in the USS Trinity's scan of the planet. In the rest of the system, there is Arian III, Arian II, and Arian I, undiscovered planets.

"Trinity to Deep Space 12, we are ready to embark." Ryan spoke into the com unit placed near the captains chair that she perched in on a daily basis. She rose from the strict confines of the chair, glancing over her deck crew. They were new, fresh from the academy or minor postings. Anxiety rose from each of them like a cloud, these were uncertain and scared people, new at exploring such a fresh region. Ryan smiled confidently, so was she. "Deep Space 12 to USS Trinity, we are prepared for your departure, I repeat, you may leave the station" Spoke a deep voice from the other end of the communications unit. Ryan felt the docking clamps releasing her and her ship, slicing the ties from her and the sanctuary of such a station. "You ready?" Ryan asked the piolt informally. His recently buzzed hair nodded repetadly. "Didn't think so." She muttered to herself, giving a jaunty smile to her crew. "Computer, logg Stardate 61426.5 into the database as the day we begin out mission" She spoke into the wall. A cheerfull beep acknowledged her request. Nothing was like being out on open waters. "Engage to the Arian System, warp five." Ryan ordered, watching the viewscreen of tranquil stars fly past.
The Arian System, an unexplored region of space located more than 20 lightyears away from Deep Space 12. Ryan sat back down in the captain's chairs, crossing her legs. She was slightly confident in her new crew that had replaced the older, disheartened ones. They would be awake tonight, aware of every move they made, hoping desperately not to mess up and be reassigned. Ryan had received these new recruits recently, and just had enough time to brief them on their mission, and then head to the Beta Quadrant before to many pesky Romulans got there.
It had been about one month or so since the USS Trinity had embarked from Deep Space 12 with minor complications. Just the usually fussy passengers, which included a delegation of scientists ranging from a Denobulan to Ferengi, which Ryan had kept her eye on. She felt pity for her science officer, a young human female named Anna Liss, who's every move was being surveyed by the elderly and ranking science officers whom she didn't dare to upset. It felt nice for Ryan to have someone else on board for the scientists to pick on, but only to a certain extent. She knew when to step in when they were interrupting the young officer's duties. Ryan shed a sliver of a smile, what didn't kill you made you stronger. Her smile heightened into a grin when the pilot, who'd buzzed hair remained as fuzzed as ever, announced "Land ho!" in a loud voice. The crew on the bridge cheered. "Let's not get to excited." Ryan reminded the crew, she turned to Anna, who was already scanning the planet. "M Class." Anna said with a sense of sure logic. "Starfleet is already aware of the planet, it's called Arian IV." Anna paused, scanning the computer screen before her. "It's the last planet in a system of four." She added, studying the viewscreen, closer. Ryan suddenly had an overwhelming feeling of disappointment from the girl she was watching. She had let go of her guard for a moment, something Ryan despised to do. Being half Betazoid, she could infrequently pick up on emotions and thoughts from others. "Don't worry, It's one in four. We still have more ground to cover." Ryan said reassuringly to her crew. "So no one is about to give up now. Let's take a brief look at Arian first, before we get too far." She nodded at her pilot who took them closer. "We'll reach our destination in a day." He said, inputting the coordinates to the planet. --- Ryan slid her finger above the P.A.D.D., overviewing the data on the Arian System before begining her log. She was in the confines of the Captain's quarters, an adjoining room to the bridge. "Captain's log, Stardate _______. We have reached the Arian System, and to a M-Class Planet, Arian IV located in sector C-14. Arian IV is the fourth and last planet in this system, which contains four other planets." Ryan paused to stand up and pace the room. "We will be continuing through the system, to reach the other planets, for exploration reasons." She added dully. Ryan turned to face the unit that was recording her voice into the records, presumably on the ceiling behind her. "What we have seen of Arian IV, it is a classic M Class planet, suitable for substaining humanoid life. We will be scanning the planet thoroughly for signs of life over the next few days. Considerably bright, considering it is the final planet from the sun, yet no surprising, noticing how compact this system is compared to Trill's." Ryan picked up the P.A.D.D. once again, looking at a picture they had taken of Arian IV. "The crew is understandbly excited, this planet is gorgeous. From this distance, it has an intracite pattern of sea and land, creating a nice balance. The sea gives off a slightly blue shade, indicating that the atmosphere may contain a few toxins to the humanoids in this ship. We will be retriving a sample soon, to check the atmosphere even though perdictions indicate that there will be no trouble if we stay for short periods of time." --- It had been a day after all the scannining had been completed, a slightly hard task seeing as Arian IV had a substantial amount of magnetic interfernence, probally due to large iron deposits on the surface they had detected. Halfway through scanning, the USS Trinity was hailed from the surface by the occupants of Arian IV, and immediatly welcomed. Apparetnly, while they had been scanning Arian IV, Arian IV from a remote underground cavern, had been scanning the foriegn spaceship.
From the vocal hail, Ryan could not indicate how the Arian IVs appreared, but they seemed a friendly type of people. Invited down to the surface, Ryan was having difficulty appointing an away team. She could easily give the task to her first officer, but Ryan wanted to go along. Deciding on two science officers, a security officer, and a few scientists they were harboring in the thip, Ryan alerted them that the crew would be leaving in less than fifteen minutes. --- Ivory colored teeth illuminated the smile of an purple tinted Arian represtative. With pale skin with the hue of purple mixed along, the Arian people looked to Ryan as if they had been eating too many blueberries during their life. Their lips were a deep purple that accented how brilliantly white their teeth were. Ridges trailing from their temples and up their ears ended down at the base of their necks. Most Arians had piercings along this cartailage ridge, ranging from large hoops to minature studs. They were a species obbeseed with the color around them, purple. And appartently, as Ryan later found out, their color spectrum that they could see only ranged from purple to a deep resonating blue. Colors were only seen in this hue, through their eyes and in their life. Ryan's science officer believed it was an elemtal combination which led the inhabiitans of Arian IV to only be able to see select colors. She promised to look into the anamoly at a later date, as soon as she finished reviewing the Arian's geological standards.
Greetings were long and lasted through most of the days, containing hours of discussion and sharing of unvital componets of information. It was obvious that the occupants of Arian IV were excited about the arrival of the visitors, but they were also anxious for no apparent reason. This was ideal for Ryan, as she had no intention o stay through most of the day, but needed to stay long enough to get minor details sorted out. "Lumber?" She asked in reply to J'Abal's question of trade. "Yes, we do have some sorts of lumber, a large quantaty, true. But it would be deirable to get other sorts of lumber, from a colony you may have nearby." He replied earnestly. "That works for us. I'm sure you I can aide trade conenctions between you and a colony in the Beta Quadrant we have." Ryan offered. She didn't know how much help she could provide, but kew that starfleet would be intrested in the connection that could be established. "If you don't mind, I must speak to an aquatance." J'Abal shrugged, sidling away/ This was another behaviorism Ryan had noticed of the Arian IV occupants. They were attentive, as long as you could keep them in your attention span. They would often wander around, need to walk, and seemed unhappy standing on one place for a long time. Then agan, it beated relations with the Klingons were they requred on to slit their hand open for a sign that you were not a shapeshifter, even though the Dominion wars were over. --- Ivory colored teeth illuminated the smile of an purple tinted Arian represtative. Ra'Aye was just trying to stir up trouble. And had succeded, unfortunatily. Ryan decided to give the inhabitants some space, and time to contact starfleet officials on trading relations, a matter that they were enthusiatic about. Pleasant farewells conducted the end of the meeting, and soon enough the USS Trinity crew had evacuated the surface.
It had been slightly unsettling, leaving Arian IV in such terms, but Ryan had a feeling that thins would be better as soon as trading ventures were conducted. Her crew was back in order, and the scientists were as irritating as ever.
"Everything in order?" Ryan asked to her fellow officer as soon as the shuttle had landed in the USS Trinity's docking bay. He nodded, handing her a P.A.D.D. and scuttling away. "Lets get going." Ryan said as she entered the bridge, more than ready to go. Giving the crew a moment to get prepared for the acceleration to warp, she nodded at the piolt. "Warp Five until we reach Arian Four."

Mission Summary:
Trade between the Starfleet colony and Arian IV has been succesfully established and ships are promised to return and bring Arian IV exotic foods and wealth in exchange for their bland tasting tree (not that many would enjoy a tree from a culinary standpoint, but if you were to, it would not be a delightfull experince) Arian IV is now accepting, and preparing for, other cultures to come and enjoy the sanctuary of their underground caverns for the first time in years. They don't plan on expanding their space exploration programme, in hopes of reviving Arian IV back to it's previous state of bliss.

Ra'Aye
Arian IV had no resemblance to it did from the old drawing tucked away in Ra'Aye's worn pocket. The piece of acient art depicted the land of old, before Ra'Aye's culture became decrepit and lazy. Or atleast, that was how she and her grandmother had phrased their specie's current situation.
Her grandmother, an outspoken elder who didn't like to be harbored and put away underground. She enjoyed fresh air, no matter how clouded and thick with a purple ue of dust. "It's gotton into our eyes, into our people." She would say in a dissapointed tone. "Atleast we have strong lungs now. Atleast you young ones do. I suppose the elders saw that our lungs were too pampered by fresh air." Ra'Aye's grandmother would say, before repeating those same sentences over again with different phrasing. Near the end of her life her brain had become addled as all of Ra'Aye's people did. Then she simply wandered away, to the volcanoe. It seemed an odd tradition to the new age granddaughter, Ra'Aye, but she grew accustomed to the refrence of the skeleton volcanoe. People who had passed the age of seventy or so springs would wander in their ancestor's footsteps to a large hole in the ground, and fall into it. Their bodies would decompose, and their skeletons would provide structure for the chosen one. The chosen one, being a person born and raised from the volcanoe would come and lead the Arian IV people into a higher state of being.
Or so they said. Ra'Aye hadn't put much faith into those fables of old her grandmother clung to hopelessly.

Marquise de Baie "We might be the only 'wind' in space!" Ensign Lee quipped. Commander Reinette looks at Lee blankly for a moment before laughing lightly. "Yes, that might be true. Although, completely random." "What are you two talking about now? Is it a woman thing?" Lieutenant Andrews asked while performing his routine checks. "I believe the Commander and Ensign Lee are talking about the name of the shuttle." Lieutenant D'Sal answered. "What? 'Saraesa'? What about it?" Andrews asks again. Reinette answers this one, "Saraesa is the name of a Greek nymph, one of the Hesperides sisters who guarded the golden apples of Hera. Anyway, long story short, her name bascially means 'beautiful wind.'" Lee quickly jumps in, "Yes, and see, I was making a pun on that by saying..." "Commander, we will arrive in the Arian System in an hour." D'Sal cut into Lee's sentence. "That was kind of rude, D'Sal. Are Vulcans supposed to be rude like that?" "Ensign, your conversation was not contributing in any part to the mission at hand, or helpful in any way." "I'm sure Lee was just trying to chase away the boredom that all... well most of us were feeling." Reinette said. A slight silence ensured after that. "You'd think I'd be happy being the only male in the crew. But nooooooo, I had to get the moody ones." Andrews jokes. Lee giggles and proceeds to chat with Andrews. D'Sal shakes her head and returns to her duties, while Commander Reinette rolls her eyes and continues what she was doing on her P.A.D.D. Quote: After roughly 34 days, we have finally neared the Arian System. Nothing unusual has been encountered on the way. Although we have seen four other rock pieces covered in ice along with the 10 others we saw 22 days into our departure, we have yet to determine where they came from. Arian I can already be seen from the shuttle, we should be able to survey it soon.

Marquise de Baie "Commander's Log: Stardate 61441.3. After scanning the surface of Arian I for four hours, I conclude that due to the high levels of carbon dioxide and sulfide in the atmosphere, landing the shuttle was out of the question. Our small shuttle's shield, hull integrety, and life support systems will not be able to maintain a safe landing on the planet. With no other choice, the crew continues to scan Arian I to the best that we can. To our benefit, though, Saraesa's scans are working perfectly and the data we collected will benefit the Federation." Commander Reinette ends the log and rubs the ridge of her nose. It has been an eventful day, but also tiring to say the least. She couldn't be more thankful for the crew that has been with her ever since she has been promoted in rank. "Commander, I have summarized our findings on Arian I into these two P.A.D.D.s. I recommend you to look through them." "Surely not to correct any mistakes, D'Sal?" "No, Commander. It is mainly for everyone's benefit that the information is known to the leader of the ship. However, in a small margin of possibility, I am capable to error..." Andrews clasps his hand on D'Sal shoulder, "Everyone's human, kiddo." Just as D'Sal was ready to reply to Andrews intrution, Reinette put up her hands to stop both of them. "Alright, it's been a long day and personaly, I need some peace and quiet. I think it'll be good for everyone to get some rest. D'Sal, I'll take a look at these in my quarters." Knowing that she should look through the information gathered by D'Sal before she sleeps-- what will she do without her? -- Reinette skimps through the P.A.D.D.s. All the facts showed that Arian I is a typical Class N planet. The only things that really interested Reinette was the shape of Arian I's only moon; and that the deeper the shuttle gets into the Arian System, the quantity of icy rock pieces were found.

The crew awoke in the early morning of 0800 hours to continue their mission. Even though they still needed more rest, they wanted to finish the survey and return to the Spacedock as soon as possible.
"The shuttle is now out of warp, Commander," Lee said.
"Good. How are the scans going, D'Sal?" Reinette asked while sipping on her tea.
"It seems our first estimates were correct, Commander. The movements on Arian II's surface are those of high velocity winds. It appears that there's nothing on the planet except for sand. However, we cannot further confirm that since the storms will prevent us from transporting."
"Yes! I can't believe how easy this is! We can just sit on our arses everyday!" Andrews exclaimed.
"I can't be sure if that's sarcasm or not, Lieutenant. Although your language is slightly out of line." Reinette is bemused, she can always count on Andrews to lighten the mood.
"Sorry, Commander. I'll try to contain my, erm, enthusiasm." Andrews gave her a smile.
Lee suddenly breaks out into a song: "At night When the sky is still When the south wind blows And the air is warm Theres a world thats born..."
"Elvis Presley songs again, Ensign? You've been singing them nonstop throughout the trip. Alright back to the job people. I don't know how you all have so much energy at this time, but that's great, just apply it to the scans. D'Sal, please continue with the survey."
D'Sal answers, "I already am, Commander."
"Of course. Carry on."

"Commander's Log: Supplemental. Arian II and III's distance is way too close for comfort. Lieutenant D'Sal is almost finished with her report on Arian II and we have already begun the scanning on Arian III. From what we can see, Arian III's missing southern hemisphere is the source of the icy rocks we found in our travels. It can be concluded that there might be large craters on Arian II's land surface, even if they cannot be seen from space. We will try to to land on Arian III, I believe our shuttle will be able to manage that safetly." Reinette ends her log and turns to the crew.
"I want everything to be in tip top order when we land tomorrow at 0600 hours. Try to get a good night's sleep everyone. And remember, the sooner we're through, the faster we can get back."
"Finally, I can't wait to see my girlfriend." Andrews sighed.
"You mean, holodeck program #440, character #6?" Lee joked.
"Hey! Watch it! She's better than... Oh, shut up."

Lt. Andrews threw his environmental suit off with a clang. "Oi, I can't believe I had to stay in that for eight hours! I don't think I'd even want to see an environmental suit for the next week!"
"Calm down, Lieutenant," Commander Reinette said with a smile. "Thanks to you and Lieutanant D'Sal, we have enough data to begin our trip back to the space dock."
Andrews walked stiffly and awkwardly towards the bridge. "I'm guessing you still need my help getting out of here, Commander?"
"We couldn't have done this without you," Reinette gives him a bigger smile and tries not to laugh at Andrews' winces. "As soon as we're out of Arian III's atmosphere we'll celebrate with a crew dinner, how about that?"

Right out of the range of any of the Gravity Wells of the Arian System, a small distortion could be seen and then a small vessel flung into view. The ship that appeared, was a lone Danube Runabout. After dropping out of warp, it seemed to almost drift for a moment. Then, after those few breif moments, the ship's Impulse Engines sprung to life and propelled the ship forward...
It angled, from its point of entry into the system, towards Arian IV. It was obvius that it would take this course, there was no other planet that had inhabitants upon its surface, while in this case, under the surface...
