So lately when I talk about certain 360 exclusives, people are quick to point out that it's on the PC, so it's no longer an exclusive. I just don't get why people are quick to bring up the PC when I'm usually just talking about consoles. When people talk about Blu-ray for the PS3, no one ever says "Well I can get that on my computer so that doesn't give the PS3 an advantage."
Is it not a 360 exclusive when compared to the PS3 and Wii? Do people just bring up the PC in their convenience in order to shoot down anything that could be considered a 360 exclusive? Should it just be called something else instead of exclusive? Or is it just not an exclusive?
What do you guys think?

I personally think that if a game is available on PC and 360, it pretty much is exclusive to 360. EDIT: Assuming it was available for 360 FIRST.
PC gaming is a different beast than console gaming. You can have whatever you want running on your gaming PC to play the game (above minimum requirements), AND you can interface however you want.
Now I may seem a hypocrite -- or may just be looking at it from a console gamer -- but I also do not see exclusivity as a two-way street. Mostly because if a game comes out for 360, I don't have to set up a PC to experience it, and everyone can justifiable argue that said games would play better on the PC anyway.
The biggest thing is that the 360 will play every single 360 game released between now and the release of the third generation Xbox. You PC will NOT play some games without upgrading RAM, video cards, or, in some cases, processors. This barrier just makes PC gaming different. If you're already a PC gamer, then exclusivity is no object to you. You're ready to play how you want, whenever you want to.

I consider exclusiveness by company, not console.
For example, FFIII was on the DS and the NES. I wouldn't say "OMG11 1ITZ NOT A EXCLUZIVE KAUSE ITZ ON TWO SYSTEMZ11" The only way you'll be able to play FFIII is via a Nintendo-manufactured console.
I'd count a game on PC/360 as still exclusive if it's "games for windows" or whatever they're calling it now.... i.e. Gears, Shadowrun.

I consider games like Gears of War to now be Microsoft exclusive. The thing is that both Windows and Xbox 360s are made by Microsoft, so if they came out for both, it wouldn't make a difference.

When we refer to something as exclusive we look at company and console. For Zelda TP, that technically isn't a Wii exclusive. Yet it is a Nintendo exclusive. We refer to company exclusivity more than we do console exclusivity but we do refer to both.
Besides, even though Microsoft is making money off of the game people don't necessarily have to buy a 360 to play it but use a PC (some also play on Macs) that they already own provided that their PC is fairly updated.
That's why it's actually both. I look at exclusivity as both because either one could affect hardware sales yet software sales may actually increase (Which is why third-party developers would be smart to make more non-exclusive games.)
There are 360 games that have been ported to Macs so that starts a whole new ball game.
Gears of War is being ported to Mac OS X but no released date is set yet.
We forget that many PC games are ported to Macs and it loses company exclusivity.

It depends.
While Mass Effect has a 99% chance of coming out on PC, there's no way my PC could handle it well, and it would cost far more to upgrade than to just buy a 360. So for all intents and purposes, it may as well be an exclusive.

In my mind, PC gaming and console gaming are two different monsters, so if something is on say a PS3 and a PC, I'd still consider it to be a PS3 exclusive due to how the PC gaming market is.
Same story with handhelds and consoles, while they may all be a part of gaming, they are all different entities. They are all different markets in the end, so why make the games an exception?

Dude, don't listen to people that want to talk about PC/360 exclusives. Save yourself a lot of trouble right now. It has the game. Nuff said.

I never consider the PC a part of the console race or a gaming engine, because computers were designed for a plethera of things humans need/want. Gaming consoles were designed for exactly that: playing games. Notice on gaming websites, when you want to talk about pc games, it's always put under the category "PC gaming" or "Computer Gaming".
