So, I was thinking about it, and I thought it would be nice to have a thread for the best fan media we've seen around. If you post links to the ones you think are best, I'll even move them to this top post so they're all together. That way, new members can find the best ones easily, too. ^.^

THE BEST OF GORILLAZ FAN MEDIA

2D:
- "2-D", a very well done Youtube tribute to our brainless pretty boy to the fitting tune of "Kill The Rock" (Mindless Self Indulgence).
- Gorillaz - 2D, by AtomicStoney, is a punkin' take on 2D. Feel Good!
- "Gorillaz: REVOLUTION" by Lascaux. Ever felt that it was unfair, all the bashing 2D gets from Muds? Well... this one's for you. Could also be taken as a kinky 2DXMurdoc (did anyone else notice that if you take 2D's original name, Stuart, and combine it with Murdoc, you get S&M? XP) but I prefer to read it the less-incriminating way.

Noodle:
- "Dark Gorillaz - Noodle", by Squeegeeboi. A cute and nasty gothic-lolita take on Noods.
- "Gorillaz Noodle" is a beautiful picture by Lora8 with wonderful reflections and effects.

Murdoc:
- "GORILLAZ - Murdoc is God" is a very... well, it's for all Murdoc fans. Especially if you like his on-stage... uh... antics... This video killed my poor, innocent brain. burning_eyes
- "Gorillaz: Bad Boy" by sweetlittlekitty. Will make Murdoc fans lean towards the screen for a better look.

Russel:
- "A tribute to Russel" is a pleasant video to the English version of 'Latin Simone' (the latin version is on the Gorillaz album [self titled]).
- "Gorillaz: Im better now by Humon is a rare touching Russel picture. ...but is it really better, Russel?
"GORILLAZ - Russel Bangs The Drum" is an uplifting, at times highly amusing video tribute to Russ. It's even better if you imagine they really are playing the music! Suggested by lcatw - thanks girl!

Band:
- "Gorillaz" by Bliss-23. A cute take on a live concert.
- "G.O.R.I.L.L.A.Z." is a masterful drawing by Lora8.
- "Gorillaz-K.S." is another by Lora8. I use this an example when I'm showing people 'what they're like' as it portrays the different band member's personalities well...
"Gorillaz 2" by Quere has been on the most-popular list of Gorillaz fanart for a long time. An animé-esque take on the band in typical cheekiness, with an ever-feminine 2D. Incidentally, Quere is my favorite 2D artist. =D Check out her gallery while you're there...

- "She Is Noodle" is a surprisingly pretty tribute to this pair. Made me smile.

- "Just A Little Crush" by Tynis a hilarious little comic about a little crush developed by the smallest member of Gorillaz. Translated from Italian, so some sentances are a little clumsy, but otherwise it's funny. ^.^

- "Gorillaz: Painkiller Joke" by Cirihtt is an amusing little image. You have to see it to comprehend it... 2D is going to have a headache...
- "Gorillaz - Arrival" by KinpatsuYasha shows adorable tenderness between big bro Russ and little Noodle. Awww.
- "Gorillaz - NO MOLESTAR" by Lascaux was one of the first pieces of fanart I saw, and I cracked up laughing. Poor little 'D...
- "Gorillaz - Starshine" is a pretty little picture, another by KinpatsuYasha. 'Their real first meeting' says the creator - and boy is it cute. ^.^
- "Gorillaz - White Light". Another KinpatsuYasha, and very amusing for three panels. Quite in the boys' nature, too... lol at 2D in the first panel...

- Japanese Gorillaz Cartoon - really cute. Scroll down for a brief translation.

Hmm, quite cool. I've always wanted to do a similar one - maybe a gif animation - of 2D gazing towards us with the light of a window over him, and the rotating shadow of the windmill's blades passing over him.

I find rotating-blade-shadows strangely beautiful. I wish Gorillaz had used some in their video... but they didn't... well, I shall use some in HL, anyway.

And that is why I like your desktop. It could use some refining though, one day if you ever feel like it. ^.^

I know some Japanese Gorillaz fanart I saw a few months ago.
The comic is in Japanese, but you can interpret what's going on just by looking at it.

I just spent an hour translating that, and then Gaia logged me out and ate my post. All I can say is, FAAAARRRK.

Well, to get the gist of the main panels, Noodle's card says "Lots of Love, Noodle". Murdoc has apparently been studying Japanese hard, as a little note says. 2D asks Noodle how to write "Lots of Love" and not only gets "tataki" confused, also puts it in the wrong place (Noodle tells him to "Put it in the middle!")

His card ends up spelt wrong, and Murdoc asks if the characters are different to Noodle's. Noodle says "Yeah..." - she's already feeling trapped "in the middle" of 2D and Murdoc. In the next frame, Murdoc cottons on to the fact that 2D was trying to impress him. Noodle is "very uncomfortable".

The last panel, well, I have no idea. The text immediately above it says something along the lines of, "But this was not a time to feel uncomfortable! Let me just say..." and then the panel... well, I got something about non-existant tools and the colour blue. Russel was saying something about tomorrow, after this, before. It just has too much kanji for me to be able to read it with my limited knowledge of Japanese.
