les morceaux de Philippe Duvicieux - 1 I use a different profile form. It's long. Really long. And it has everything your form does, just in different places.
Yes, I need an index. o:< [I will eventually, anyway.]

Philippe Duvicieux Part One1. What is your full name? Philippe Louis Antoine Duvicieux Saint-Just
2. Where and when were you born? I was born in the small village of Yrta, on the same day High Lady Skaei XIV was proclaimed monarch
3. Who are/were your parents? Claude and Mireille Duvicieux were members of the lower class. They were falsely accused of murder when I was three years old, and were hanged. I then came into the care of William and Marilyn Saint-Just, an elderly couple who only wanted the best for me, their sole heir.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I am and have always been an only child.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I live in the remodeled Saint-Just mansion that was left to me. The old-fashioned house retains its original structure, but I have added on a large annex for my laboratory. My assistants reside there with me, as well as Miss Uulae, in the summer.
6. What is your occupation? I am a man of science, though many would consider me "twisted" or "amoral."
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. I am six feet tall plus one inch, and rather thin. I am what you would call Homo astrum, a species hardly distinguishable from Homo sapiens. I spend much of my time indoors, and so have a pale complexion, my face appearing all the whiter next to my dark--nearly black--hair and eyes. Though my hair is curly, it is hardly ever tangled; personal grooming is important. I can often be found wearing, at the very least, a sweater and khakis, though I prefer darker clothing and my white laboratory coat. I wear thick-framed glasses.
8. To which social class do you belong? Though I was born into poverty, my adoptive parents, the Saint-Justs, boosted my class and I now consider myself to be in the lower range of the aristocracy. I tend to close myself off from society, though, and have become a bit of a recluse.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? I am mildly lactose-intolerant.
10. Are you right- or left-handed? Right-handed.
11. What does your voice sound like? Some might call it "rich" or "smooth," but I don't care for voices to be compared to candies or chocolates. My voice is, simply, a voice to my ears; deep, measured, and patient, or so I like to think.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? I shall have to think about that one a bit....
13. What do you have in your pockets? My MotorBike, what you would call a computer, and various other tiny, electronic things.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? People tell me the way I look at them is unnerving, that it seems as though I'm looking through them or into them. Besides that, Miss Uulae tells me I have an infuriating habit of thinking myself superior to others, and, as she puts it, a smile that says "I know something you don't know."Part Two 15. How would you describe your childhood in general? My childhood in general was a good one; my adoptive parents catered to any need I had--in truth, I don't remember my biological parents at all. The Saint-Justs strongly encouraged my love of science, and provided me with plenty of chemistry sets to play with as a child.
16. What is your earliest memory? My earliest memory is of my fourth birthday, the first birthday with the Saint-Justs. I received a toy telescope.
17. How much schooling have you had? I was homeschooled mainly with private tutors through my teenage years, and went to college in Yatta with money provided by the Saint-Justs.
18. Did you enjoy school? Very much so; my parents soon discovered I had a natural thirst for knowledge, and could hardly keep enough books on the shelves to amuse me as a child.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? I learned much from my tutors and the science courses I took in college, though many of the techniques I use, I pioneered myself.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. One of my tutors, comparable to King Arthur's Merlyn, was my best role model. He, like Merlyn, was knowledgeable about the world in science, geography, literature, and much more.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? I had no siblings to quarrel with, only my adoptive parents, who learned while I was still young that if one of my moods siezed me, to keep away until I finished what it was I was working on. Our relationship was affectionate, but rather detached; I sometimes found myself wondering if I was adopted for the sole purpose that they might have an heir to whom to leave their estate.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always knew I would be a man of science.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities? Reading was what I spent most afternoons doing, rain or shine. I was usually found indoors, but on the rare occasion that my parents took the notion to go on a picnic or other sort of family outing, I would carry a book with me out of doors. Playing with chemistry sets was another of my favourite pasttimes.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? I was solitary, preferring to spend time alone rather than with any "playmates" my parents found for me. I was curious, but solemn, studying from afar before approaching.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? I had few friends as a child, as I was homeschooled and hardly ventured outside. My closest friends were books, as I never tired of hearing their stories again and again. A few of my tutors could also be considered friends, though not close ones, as they were at least twenty-five years my senior and our only contact was through my schooling.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss? It was towards the end of my sophomore year of college with a girl named Sophie Hedgecoth.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? No, I'm not. It was to Sophie Hedgecoth near the beginning of my senior year in college.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. When I was hardly twenty-seven, I was killed in an experiment-gone-wrong scenario that destroyed nearly a third of my laboratory. Upon passing through Judgement, the Goddess condemned me directly to the Abyss, where I was sent before the Devil. He granted me eternal youth, saying I would return to the Abyss only when killed by forces other than time or disease. I have been his unwilling servant since. Part Three29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? My entrance into unwilling servitude to the devil. It provided me with everlasting youth, and has given me time enough to become a master of my craft.
30. Who has had the most influence on you? Miss Uulae has had the most influence on me, showing me that even the most stubborn of minds can be swayed.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Creating life using only DNA samples taken from Miss Uulae, building the body from scratch.
32. What is your greatest regret? Falling under the influence of the Maerii government, assisting High Queen Soqii in the assassination of her brother, High Lord Maerii XIV.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? I betrayed Miss Uulae, kidnapping a tribal seer from a nearby village, raping her, killing her after she gave birth to my twin children, then genetically altering the twins. Prior to my demise, I shouted that they were my true heirs, not the sons Miss Uulae bore me.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? Kidnap, assassination, rape, murder, illegal genetic experimentations, and a few other minor things including petty thievery.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened? The first time I realized I was falling in love with Miss Uulae. I was terrified that the Queen would use her against me, would harm her--or worse--to get to me.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? I shall have to think about that....
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? Again, I'll have to think about this one, too....
38. What is your best memory? Seeing what I created come to life on a slab in front of me, and then to see it live, and thrive, and learn.
39. What is your worst memory? Going through the Abyss.Part Four 40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? I would have to say pessimistic.
41. What is your greatest fear? Losing power.
42. What are your religious views? In my younger years, I was very much against organized religion, believing in only that which I could see and feel for myself. I still see from a scientific point of view and don't much care for religion, but I know that there is a Goddess, and there is a Devil.
43. What are your political views? Whoever is in power is the one pulling the strings, and has me at his or her disposal. I don't much care for politics; I find it easier to stay out of the way of those corrupt with power.
44. What are your views on sex? It is what it is; by no means is it the equilavent of love, but it isn't something to rob yourself of.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? Yes, I am able to kill. If it is my life against another's, I'll save my own neck first. If money or power is involved, well, that's a bonus.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? What some would consider the most evil, I have done already, and so cannot say anything to make up for my actions. I believe, however, that the most evil thing any man could do to another would be to cut him off from the thing he loves most, then leave him to live out the rest of his days in solitude as he slowly drives himself mad.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? When I'm with Miss Uulae, yes.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life? I believe a man has attained success when he lives comfortably in the lifestyle he chooses, without wanting for anything, no matter what ends he may have had to go to in order to get there. If he managed it without a single criminal record, then that is something truly, truly remarkable.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings? I will not say I am "dishonest" about my thoughts and feelings, as I do not change my outward manner, though I do tend to have a cold demeanor when speaking with people. I close myself off to nearly everyone, including Miss Uulae, who is the one who has seen the purest side of me.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? I believe women are naturally inferior to men, with a few exceptions, although I do not support the decision made by Lord Maerii XII to take away women's rights. I also believe that the species Homo astrum is superior to other races, including the Quistae and Saemoggi.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Anything is worth doing for the right amount of money.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? Miss Uulae, or to regain my soul from the Devil's control. Part Five53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? I treat others coldly, distancing myself from them. Even those who I would consider myself close to know little about me.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? The most important person in my life is, at the present, Miss Uulae. She is, as you would say, my significant other.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Miss Uulae. She is one of the few people who dares to talk back to me, to stand up for what she knows is right, even after I have had my final say in the matter. There is a fire in her I have seen in few others in this day and age, the determination to stand up for the better cause, even if the whole world has turned against her.
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. I keep very few "friends," though among the ones I have, I would include my personal assistant, Piipaol. He is, however, by no means a "best" friend. He has remained loyal to me throughout the years, from the age of sixteen up until his death at the age of fifty-two.
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Miss Uulae--Jarkk, rather--is the woman I love, who became my wife when she discovered she was pregnant with my twin sons. She has a fiery spirit, and is nearly as stubborn as I am. Her hair is naturally auburn, though it was dyed a rather violent shade of lime green when I met her, and was died black shortly after that. She is a singer, and it was thanks to Piipaol I became aware of her existance. She is very loyal, and remained with me until my death, despite my abuse and infidelity.
58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. I kidnapped Jarkk Uulae in hopes of collecting DNA samples to create life--to "play God" as some would have it. Though I told her she was free to go after I had collected the samples, she remained at the laboratory. Though I remained cold towards her, I realized there was something between us. She left with her "daughter" Pakk only when I insisted she do so for her own safety after the Queen had discovered my illegal experiments, then returned shortly thereafter.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Until I met Miss Uulae, I thought love was a frivolous thing, and took what I could get, looking only for a good body. As I matured, I began to look for intelligence, also.
60. How close are you to your family? Not very. The romance and passion in my relationship with my wife died when our sons reached the age of three. She looked after the boys while I confined myself to my laboratory, working from dawn until late in the night.
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? Miss Uulae and I have two sons--twins, named Tallyn and Terryn. Tallyn is rash and impulsive, making decisions based on his emotions rather than thinking things through, while Terryn is more level-headed, careful with his decision making. I fathered two children--again, twins, a boy and a girl by the name of Jeyu and Chaitae, respectively--with a tribal seer I kidnapped from a nearby village for genetic studies. They believe their father to have been a strong warrior from their native village, given by their village leader to me in exchange for peace, and both possess the gift of the Sight.
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? My wife.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? No; I believe that a man's best protector is himself.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? My wife and possibly her sons.
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Other than myself (whom I despise for the monstrous acts I have committed), the man I despise the most is the Devil, for taking away my freedom and soul.
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I tend to avoid conflict by stating my side of the argument and walking away before they protest. If brought into a physical confrontation, I'll run to save my own neck.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Yes.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? No, I prefer to work alone, or with my small group of assistants. I find everyone else incompetent.
69. Do you care what others think of you? No. I make myself invaluable to them, then let them think what they will, knowing they cannot rid themselves of me or my services.Part Six 70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? Science, experimenting in my laboratory late into the night. I also enjoy reading.
71. What is your most treasured possession? The book given to me by the Devil when he gained control of my soul. Though he never elaborated on what would become of me if anything were to happen to it, I can deduce that it would be nothing pleasant.
72. What is your favorite color? Colour is immaterial, though if I had to choose, I would say black.
73. What is your favorite food? I eat what's put in front of me; food is simply food--why should one have a favourite?
74. What, if anything, do you like to read? I enjoy reading nonfiction to expand my knowledge.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment? Fine art. I have never been a creative person away from the scientific front, and so I have come to appreciate those who have the ability to create paintings, sculptures, music, and those who can act on stage.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? I have the occasional alcoholic drink, but am by no means an alcoholic. I experimented with drugs in my younger years, but gave them up when I did not experience the same effects others claimed to have.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? Alone in my home, either reading a book in front of the fire or working in the laboratory.
78. What makes you laugh? Quick wit and a sharp tongue; in this respect, I am not unlike the Devil. Wit without measure is man's greatest treasure.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? At this point, I have seen and heard nearly anything; nothing could possibly shock me. I am offended, however, when people talk down to me, treating me as their inferior.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? Go into my laboratory to finish some work.
81. How do you deal with stress? I tend to fly into a passionate rage, throwing things across the room, breaking delicate instruments, striking anyone who comes within range.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? I have a plan for everything.
83. What are your pet peeves? Untidyness. Everything has a place, and everything should be in its place. Also, when I am working, I prefer to be left quite alone, something my wife seems not yet to have learned. Part Seven84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I wake up, sometimes eat a light breakfast, sometimes don't, then head down to the laboratory, where I spend most of the day, usually not breaking for lunch. Though I spend my day working on what I love, it gets a bit monotonous, and I enjoy breaks in my routine.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person? My determination and will to get things done.
86. What is your greatest weakness? That I distrust people so easily.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? That I was a free man, that I was in control of my own actions and life. If you're asking what I would change as far as personality is concerned, I suppose I would have to say I would want to be more open. To be quite honest, I'm content with myself the way I am.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Introverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy? Organized.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. I consider myself to be good at analyzing and reading people, critical thinking, and problem solving. My skills are lacking in the area concerned with relations with other people, especially opening up to them. I am also not very creative artistically and sometimes wish I had the ability to create art in any form. I'm also not very good at listening to advice; though I might hear the speaker out, I rarely follow through with his or her suggestions.
91. Do you like yourself? For the most part, yes.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? What else? Money, power, the hope of some day being a free man if I accomplish the tasks given to me by the Devil.... I'm honest about my motives in public. Well, except for the Devil one.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? To be renowned in the scientific community.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? The same place I am now; the same dreadful rut, neither progressing nor receding.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Peacefully, perhaps of old age or sickness in my sleep.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? Creating life superior than that created by the Goddess.
98. What three words best describe your personality? Closed, headstrong, intense. In other words, a Scorpio.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Cold, insensitive, stubborn.
100. If you had a theme song, what would it be? "Insanity" by Oingo Boingo
