((OOC Note: Backdated RP))
At times Meilin wondered if anyone else had noticed, or if it was just her? Signs of pregnancy, proof that that day with Vian in the jungle really did happen, that it was not just a vivid dream, a trick of the mind. It made her ache to think about it, thinking about how she'd not see him again for a long, long, long time, if ever, and what that meant for their child or children.
Out stretched her paws as she picked herself up to sit upright. It had not gone unnoticed, how the other slaves seemed to avoid her as if she had the plague. Uuo was the only one of them all that seemed to think that banding together was wise. That didn't mean she had agreed with Meilin's being pregnant ("Well it's not as if I planned to get caught at the time I was in the middle of it!", she'd testily replied). The others, for whatever reason, would have nothing to do with the two if it could be helped, though.
It was the sound of voices drawing nearer that made Meilin pause. The female she recognized to be Uuo's master, and the other set of paws didn't speak back, Uuo, perhaps? Why would Azula be anywhere near the slaves den though? She had only ever come to SUMMON Uuo, not to walk her back.
"You are to stay here for now. When the time comes and one of us calls for you, you will answer, or you will not fancy the consequences of your disobedience. Do I make myself clear, slave?"
The lioness paused a few feet from the entrance of the slave's den, staring down the blue tiger marked male. They had already discussed things and this much was decided, for now he would stay with Meilin and Uuo in the slave dens, but perhaps sooner than later that would change.

Vian was surprisingly relaxed for a newly captured slave. Part of it was his confidence in his skills. The other was that he had accepted his new status for a reason. It was always easier endure hard times when one had a motive or a drive. "Perfectly, mistress," he murmured in responce to his new owner, dipping his head down slightly. He waited carefully, though scents of the other slaves were tickling his nose, one being especially familiar.

With that done the Firekin lioness turned on her paws and left Vian to his own devices.
It was only then that she dared to rise fully and approach the den's entrance, holding her breath without realizing she was. It caught sharply in her throat when she spotted Vian just a few feet away, however. He'd been captured as well? Already a sense of guilt and self blame began to well up in her mind, but she didn't know for sure yet if he'd been caught because of her or not.
And what would he say when she gave him the news...?
"Vian...?"

Vian's ear twitched slightly at the sound of his voice and he turned his head. Catching sight of the very lioness he had come to find his eyes sparked. In a demonstration of quick reflexes he moved forward in three smooth steps, closing the gap between them. He nuzzled against her warmly, even lifting a paw to touch the back of her shoulder. "Good to see you Meilin," he purred, the sound rippling through his body and he was close enough she might feel it too.

All at once she realized she had yet to breathe since hearing his voice, and took in a sharp breath as he touched her. Normally not a lioness that showed such extreme emotions, she did now because they were too overwhelming otherwise to surppress. She pushed her head in against his mane, nuzzling with only a bit subdued affection. She'd been so sure she wouldn't see him again!
"Vian... what happened? How did you get caught? I thought..."
She withdrew then, enough so that she could look him in the eye again.
"I thought you were going to stay with your sister, and Nukta...?"

"Mm...my sister," he let his eyes trail away for a moment, as if he could sense her pesence in the distance. "She doesn't need me now. I was a bit delusion, thinking otherwise. I suppose it was a hard feeling to break." He turned back to look at her, a soft smile curling gently on his maw. "I have somewhere far more important to be," he leaned forward, giving her nose a slow kiss of his tongue.

Her eyes remained locked with his, taking in his words with a sense of disbelief. He'd chosen her, over being with his sister...?
"But, how did you know...?"
She could not help but shut her eyes and purr, moving in closer afterwards to brush her head against his again in return. It was only after this that she motioned inside, so they could speak more privately.

"Well you don't honestly think I could have forgotten you?" He purred, teasing. "You were hard to get out of my mind," he murmured, recalling the nights where he had often thought of how she had been fairing on her own. "But, I suppose a meeting with a goddess friend of mine helped a bit," he said with a bit of an apollogy in his smile, as if having had to have talked to someone made his devotion fractured or brittle.

Once they were settled deeper in the shadows of the cave she turned to face him again, watching him quietly as Vian finished his response. Once he'd finished speaking she shook her head softly, settling on her back haunches and waiting for him to join her.
"I'm sorry that this had to happen..."
Pale eyelids covered pale eyes, and she sighed before looking at him again, confessing what had been on her heart for weeks now.
"But, I am happy to see you... I missed you. And..."

Vian followed her in, glad to the shade from the sun. He was used to this sort of heat, but he still treasured the small temperature change. He moved to sit closely beside her, leaning his body gently against hers as he watched her with a warm gaze. "Do not be sorry," he said gently, his voice low and smooth, "There is nothing to be sorry for. There is no place I'd rather be. I realized that."

In return, the female leaned against him as well, shifting a paw to rest between his, tangling their legs a bit. She returned the sentiment, but for the fact that this was no place to raise a family. Strange that she hadn't really seen herself finding anyone to want to raise one with, but now that she had, they were stuck in this situation.
"Yes... but, Vian, there's something else I need to tell you,"
She added, admitting quietly, managing to keep her voice steady though her heart was beating firmly in her chest, almost audible even to her own ears.
"I'm pregnant, Vian."

It took a moment for the words to sink in. It wasn't every day you heard a phrase like that. He felt his heart slowly rise as he turned his head slightly to look at her. His eyes were burning with a question that he was hesitant to ask. But he didn't want to get too attatched to the idea of children without an answer. "Oh?" He murmured gently, his expression speaking far louder then his tone of voice. She had said she was pregnant. She had not said he was the father. Vian was not one to assume. Not in something so important.

Meilin misunderstand, in fact, if anything she didn't quite read just what that look meant, that he questioned. She naturally assumed the need to clarify, thinking that his answer meant that it didn't quite sink in.
"Yes... Vian, they're yours."

Vian let out a deep breath. He pressed himself even closer to her, his nose brushing against her neck before he moved to breath in her ear, "Oh Meilin." There was such a swell in his heart that he thought he could feel it pressing against his ribs. "If not for where we are...I couldn't have been happier." His truth was laced with warmth and a throbbing purr of truth. Somehow, the idea of starting a family with her felt more right then wrong.

Hearing this did leave the female rather relieved, and she shut her eyes as her own heart swelled as well. She returned his sentiment fiercely, if not for where they were, this moment would have been absolutely perfect.
Meilin brought a paw up to wrap around him, once again resting her head against his, but this time leaving it there. Somehow they'd find a way, and if what Uuo's little hare friend said was true...
"Vian... I'm so happy to hear you say that,"
Really, she was just relieved beyond words, happy beyond words, that he was here! She'd never cared about another like this before, never tried, never sought to, but here it had happened, all on it's own, and because of her unwillingness to be selfish or relent on her quest to find her sister she had almost missed out. It had taken Vian's decision to come back, -his- dedication to bring them back together when circumstances didn't see fit to let her find him once her lesson had been learned.
"We'll find a way to protect them, somehow. I know we will."
