I didn't know Tom Wilkinson is in this; loved him in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Emily Rose, however, does look pretty cool. Wasn't there some sort of controversey surrounding the film though?

I saw a preview of it when I last went to the movies. To me it looks like a remake of the exorsist

What I would like to know though is how much of the movie's narrative is indeed true. The last two mainstream horror movies I can think of that played the "Based on a True Story" card turned out to be either a complete fabrication or a hoax which someone actually thought was true.

wow that looks like a awesome movie. But I got a question do you have to watch the other exorcist to get it? I mean I only saw the first one. I am on the boat with the rest of you how much is it true?? White noise pulled the same thing but if you notice the new trialers of the white noise doesnt say it is based on a true film.

Very true. I guess we can always see what it says at IMDB or wikipedia.

It's going to be a cool movie to watch, I think. Undoubtedly they got some of their inspiration from the Exorcist, but I think it's an original story.

My least favourite kind of horror film is one based on possession.
Except Repossessed. Heh.
I'll be missing this one, unless I get to see it for free.

Haven't seen the trailer, but I read an article about it in Entertainment Weekly. So I'll want to see it when it comes out.

Well the main interst to me is that it i based on fact. Something of this sort really happened along came a story and now they make a movie. One of the best examples of this( unfortunately Icannot remember the name of it) Was a movie about this lady who was being sexually assaulted by a demon. she was actually taken out of her home and the government did an investigation including an expieramnet to get the demon to attack her when she was under observation and it worked the government researchers actually recorded an attack. this record along with a few others is what opened up the governments subsiquent reseacrh and founded severl agencies devoted to research of the s-nat. So i guess you can say that if it is based in fact I am there hehe to check it out.....
