with an ear to the ground
and an eye to the clouds
i listen for the meaning
i sift through the sounds

the tidal wave that looms overhead is clear
the end of our regime doth finally appear
but no one gives a damn why would they live in fear?

Let it wash away these morphine dreams
let it cleans my cityscapes
let my world be burned to ashes
let my dreams fade away
and in the wreckage let these words take root

the meaning is quite gone now
but i am in pursuit

I still find my self searching on dark and stormy nights
for the meanings that elude me be they wrong or right
i keep my minds eye open hoping to see the light
something which has proved elusive to my omnipresent sight

I'm beginning to wonder if it was ever here at all
That meaning that i search for
The cause of my down fall
