Breaking in the critique forum here!

The big one is the type I'm planning to make for conventions; the little ones are there to show what the yarn hair will look like when attached (since I don't have any yarn on hand right now). Additionally, unlike Mr. Baldy Prototype here, final ones will have nicer eyes instead of being drawn on with a marker.

The doll body is made of flannel with a removable kimono; this one's cotton. I've also got flannel, brocade, and other stuff to make clothes out of, and am planning to do kimono-dolls and lolita-dolls.

Opinions? Ideas of price range? Ideas for other clothes? Am I crazy?

Those look really great Vice, really professional. biggrin About how tall are they? Depending on the height, I can see these going from $7 to $20.

The big one is roughly 10" tall; I won't be doing the small ones, I don't think, because they take a lot more effort to do (I may make some felt ones, but with anything that frays and has to be stitched and turned, it's too much work to do minis). The material cost isn't THAT much more between the two, so it's just easier to go big.

And after looking at the eyes again, and having my roommate look over the doll, I think I'm going to draw them on with copic like I did for this one. smile

If you're drawing them on, I think you should either find something a little more resilient than copic or warn the people buying that they're not machine-washable.

Honestly, the drawn-on eyes were just for the preliminary one to work out the pattern changes. I'm considering using them on the final dolls, though; I need to see what happens when I do get it wet (both with and without heat-setting)...

Considering parts are hand-sewn, I don't think they'd actually be more than hand-washable anyway. ^^

fabric paint would give a little bit of gloss to the eyes, which would be really interesting.

and good hand sewing is stronger then machine sewing.
