I think that he's part of it now, but he doesn't know.
Maybe when Iroh joins them, he'll teach him the ways.
Iroh probably knows the dude who gave it to him.

the one when he learns how to use a sword with a mster swordsman. I agree with you. it was aid that you will always find help. im guessing that over time, they will get saved because Sokka has it,

I am assuming that it means they are officially part of the White Lotus Society...but Sokka and the Gaang probably doesn't know it yet... But they'll figure it out. wink Iroh will probably explain it to them.

Maybe it will be used to convince some of the Lotus members to join in the fight if they haven't decided already.

What I don't get is why the master didn't bother to explain the tile. I think knowledge of i's power would make it more useful than by just some random occurence.

I didn't think of that. They certainly need more allies now that most of them are already in prison. I think they should break them out, by the way.

The sword master guy, if you didn't notice is part of the white lotus clan. The lotus is on his door plus his sword and various other places throughout the episode. I'm guessing he's a respected member and therefore has the right to give others indentation and found in soka the characteristics that would qualify him to be part of the clan. Later in the show, it's probably coming back somehow-just like the air ballons coming back on the day of black sun.
