The winged fem glided well above the ground, peering at those who were below her. She just didn't understand how the burning earth didn't hurt their paws like Anatole said they would do to hers. He said it was because she was blue and had bird blood in her. That the ground was dangerous to her and she would die if she ever touched it.
Honestly the air was actually rather boring. There weren't many other flyers who preferred the air. Well...actually the only other flyers she knew were her parents and her grandpaps. Linn sighed before squawking from the new gust. So close! The ground was going to get her!

Sanji was, for once, NOT looking for Zoro. Rather, he was looking for ingredients. It turned out the HQ had a decent kitchen, but were sadly lacking proper ingredients. There also seemed to be no Market anywhere nearby, so Sanji was doing what any great cook would do: sulk and go look for some in the wilderness.
"How is a self-respecting cook supposed to work in these %$*! conditions?" he muttered, finishing of his cigarette with one last drag. His eyebrow twitched in irritation, and he quickly fished out another cigarette while grinding the other one out on the ground. He paused to light the new one, and took exactly the right amount of smoke into his lungs to calm himself down. He released the smoke into the winter sky. It was nearly invisible against the gray clouds.
With a start, Sanji realized there was a Kitsu up there. Eye wide, errand forgotten, he took a closer look, and almost couldn't believe his eyes.
"An angel." he exclaimed, nonplussed. Then he realized that the blue Kitsu above him was a female. Immediately, Sanji's heart began to beat faster. "An angel!"
Within seconds, had propelled himself off the ground with a powerful kick and was sailing towards the Angel with outstretched paws.
"O Heavenly Goddess! Please take me into your loving arms!" he called out to her.

The black mouthed fem squawked once more lifting herself up. He almost got her! The girl panicked for a moment. Why would a stranger want her to die? Was-was it because he was jealous. Little tears began to spill from her eyes as she glided down closer, still not quite touching the ground.
"Why're you trying to kill me Sir? Linn doesn't know you! Linn hasn't been a bad girl either....." The girl sniffled, wiping at her face pathetically.

As was the usual case, Sanji missed completely and went crashing back to the ground, taking mild damage. As he righted himself, flicking the ruined cigarette away, he saw that the Angel had come closer to the ground. His heart nearly leapt out of his chest at her beauty.
What she said, almost stopped it in its tracks, though. Frantic to make amends, Sanji wibbled every which way beneath her.
"No, dear Angel! I wasn't trying to kill you! I only wished to join you in heavenly splendor." he exclaimed.

The fem blinked a little, tilting her head in the cute manner he mother always did, sniffling away the last few bits of tears. "But-but...Linn almost touched the ground! Tole said-Tole said Linn would die if Linn ever touched the ground!" She didn't really understand the other kit's words.
No one ever really talked liked that in her house. Well....that Kashti fellow did...but he always made it sound a lot simple-er. Though Linnaea still never understood what he said.

Sanji stopped his wibbling at her explanation and looked up at the blue Kitsu in confusion.
"You'll die if you touch the ground?" he repeated. Nani? Was she some kind of odd Devil Fruit user? Was she from the Grand Line? If she couldn't land, did that mean she had to fly all the time?
Sanji looked around, and spied a tree with low-slung branches. He looked back up at the angel, and pointed to the tree.
"If you can't touch the ground, can you touch a tree? That isn't ground." he asked, and wibbled slightly as he added. "Or I could just carry you..."

Linn looked at the tree and then back to the unfamiliar kitsuman. Carry? What was that again? Or right! her mommy used to do that when Linn didn't have wings. Yes yes! But she was so used to flying for long periods of time! It was evidently in her wings, she had to land on a tree to clean them so often.
The blue female sniffled a little bit. "Yes...trees are safe..." The girl flittered over to lowest branch, landing gracefully. It had taken a lot of time to learn how to be good at landing. So~o many times had she tried and almost touched the ground. Linn immediately began to preen herself, more out of habit then anything.
