Copper pushed himself unhappily through trees. This place had grown since the fire. Sure there was still some green missing, but it didn't seem like there had been a fire at all. Copper missed Kasi. They were supposed to have stayed together. But it didn't end up working like that sadly. He was different now. His heavy accent had faded mostly and his voice was much deeper now. He was even a little bit taller. But he could still bark. He could still sit down the way Kasi and he used to do. It broke his heart every time he did it but he still felt more connected to her.
Copper walked into the clearing that had once been filled with moths and long green grass. He could easily see the river from here because the trees were not as thick as they once had been. He sat down and barked loudly just to revisit his memories.

Its not that she hadn't wanted to see him; really! They'd just ended up missing each other. She did miss him, really! actually, Kasi had been looking for him. Maybe he could tell her why the heck she was so..
round.
Herappetite had grown too, for some reason. It was funny! But she knew she wasn't fat because of -that-, because she had only been getting hungrier after she'd gotten chubbier.
Finally, though, she seemed to have lucky out. The mare had simply been flopped among a few bushes, rather well concealed, as they were quite bushy, and her fur wasn't exactly super-standout. She'd just been lying there, doing nothing. However, and ear perked, and she lifted her head slightly, though not exactly over the bushes. A bark? Only Copper barked! it had to be! For some reason, though, even excited, Kasi was too lazy to fully get up, and just stayed there, not really wanting to roll over because it was uncomfortable with this weird belly. So instead, Kasi lifted her head a bit higher and barked aswell, perking her ears to wait for an answer.

Copper looked up quickly. No. It had to be his imagination. He was hearing things because he missed her. He looked around and barked again, hoping for another answer. He got up and walked towards where he had heard it. This was crazy. How could she be here? He continued to tell himself he was insane as he barked.

Flicking her ears, she heard another bark. Yes, this was definitely copper! However, he seemed keen on sitting around and barking. Kasi normally would mind, but lately she'd been moon-swingy, oh, wonderful! With a small snort, she barked again, and huffed, finally deciding to roll to her hooves and get up, and soon she was on all fours, trying to get a stick away from her ear. Stupid stick! why wouldn't it let go?!
Soon enough, however, Kasi forgot about the stick. Copper was nearby! She had to find him! Looking around, Kasi squinted as her eyes moved out of the shade of the bushes into the sunny terrain, trying to see if she could find the stallion anywhere around here.

It had to be her! A flash of color caught his eye and he heard movement. He looked over and there she was. "KASI!" he yelled and ran over to her as fast as he could. He payed to attention to her bulging belly, in fact, he barely noticed it. He nuzzled her happily and jumped around barking.
"How have you been? Where were you? Did you miss me? Have you been alone? Are you alright?" thousands of questions came out of his mouth but he stopped suddenly and stared at her stomach. His eyes widened. Had she met someone else? Was it...his? Did she even know? more questions flooded his brain.

"Copper! " Kasi yipped, hopping up a bit, then stopping in annoyance as once more her belly complained. Dumb belly! Folding her ears back, she grimaced slightly in its direction, then smiled brightly as suddenly the stallion was by her sde, nuzzling contently against his neck untill he seemed to have a spazz and run around barking. That looked so fun, right about now!
"What ?I've been goo-- I was lookg for y-- yes! yes! yes! " She was trying hard to answer his questions quickly, but seemed to forget a few as he said them, and not even able to finish her answers. Sudenly, though, he stopped, and the mare tilted her head. "Whats wrong? " She asked, bending her neck so that her head blocked his view of her belly, as if to try and catch his eye. Its not like you could wave your hand infront of someones face when.. you didn't have hands.

Wouldn't she have already announced it by now if she knew? "K-Kasi...Are you...pregnant?" he had to ask. There wasn't many ways to find out. He looked her in the eyes and waited for an answer.
But then...if she didn't know how would she answer? Would she take it as good news or bad news? He only got more confusion by asking himself these questions.

WHAT THE..
"I'm WHAT? " The mare's gray eyes were suddenly wide, her ears perked in disbelief. Pregnant! she knew what that was! Ohsnap. How had she not noticed earlier?! Her mommy had been pregnant, and fat, just before having Auma, Rosie and Sun!
"You're gonna be a dad! " She gasped, more like she was just realising this now than breaking the news to him. He'd been the only one she'd.. well, y'know! And it was about the right time ago, right? Holy...
"Now what? "

Copper suddenly began laughing. He hopped around more but realized that she couldn't do it with him so stopped. "Now...well...I'm gonna be a daddy." he sang sliding out of focus on the subject.
Finally he cleared his thoughts. "Now we need to find somewhere to settle down...I want you off your feet as much as possible!" he blurted, quickly becoming very protective. He was gonna be father! He kept repeating it over and over again in his mind hoping the concept would stick. But it wouldn't. He couldn't believe it. He nuzzled her lovingly.

Well, someonewas happy! For a moment, Kasi could only stare at Copper, surprised at how easly he'd taken this. Copper was weird..
But his joy was rather intoxicating, and soon enouh, Kasi found herself just as excited, resiting the urge to hop around with him, and merely giving a small trot, though she quickly grew annoyed with that, and stopped. "Yeah! And and.. " Holy crap, mom and dad! What would she tell then?! Dad would have a fit! She probably shouldn't go to them all fat, no. She'd only go over when the foals were nice and ready! Nodding to herself, she blinked at what Copper said, just catching the last bits.
"Wait-- why? " She frowned. Kasi was a rather hyper mare, and disliked staying put. But.. it wasn't like she hadn't already been doing that, was it?

"Why? I don't want you to get hurt of course." Copper nudged her gently and walked away a little bit, looking for a comfortable place for her.
He started thinking about being a father. Soon it began to bug him. Was he ready for this? Could he take care of another's life? How would he raise his children? What if they didn't like him. He frowned and looked back at Kasi, trying to hide his troubles. "Do you know anywhere you'd like to stay?" he asked.

"I'm not staying put! " She huffed, walking boldly next to Copper and pulling off the 'I do not need rest' look very well. In fact, she was pulling off the 'I can run forever!!11!' look, and was pretty convincing, for a pregnant mare.
"BUT if you must, " Kasi said grinning, as if she'd suddenly changed her mind. "I like caves! "Damn, Copper. You've found yourself an odd mare.

He looked at her in confusion. She didn't approve of resting but then...Wait...what? He shook it off and then laughed. "Foals raised in caves...Alrighty then." he chuckled to himself lightly. "Come on, let's go find one." he said and smiled at her. He walked back to her and stayed by her side. "Know where any are?" he asked.

"... Nope! " Strangely enough, Kasi said this with an almost overjoyed smile, though of course, it was just due to the amusing situation, flicking her tail, the mare brushed the side of her head against Copper's neck for a moment, looking up at him with a smile.
"Lets find one!"

"Alright." he said and hopped forward. "Let's play a slow game of tag while we look!" he said and poked her. "Tag! You're it." he laughed and trotted away slowly. He knew she would not like to play slowly but what harm could it really be for her to excercise a little? Those annoying thoughts kept nagging at him but he pushed them to the back of his mind for the moment. "Come on." he cooed to Kasi. Where would they find caves? Why did she like them so much?
