Sand... Sand, sand, sand. It was everywhere; under his hooves, up his nose, lodged in his wings... In his eyes. His nose wrinkled as he rubbed his cheek against his wing, careful not to poke himself with the strange 'spikes' protruding from them. He'd done that once and it -really- wasn't all that pleasant. He'd whined and pouted until he'd been poked with a horn and, somehow, while being poked with a spike had hurt the horn had healed. It didn't make any sense... Not one bit.
Then again, not many things made sense, or so he'd come to realize. It seemed... Strange.. But it sure gave him a lot to think about!

The sand was slightly easier for her to walk on than her brothers for some odd reason. She'd never quite figured it out but it worked for her and made things slightly more bearable. She still ached constantly as wings that didn't truly exist tried to move when she wasn't paying attention.
Huffing slightly she stopped just inside the tide line and let the water rince off her hooves. Her brother's could play and hopefully they wouldn't knock her around so she didn't hurt more.

(Black text for now because I haven't picked a color yet :V )Sand, sand, sand... Trucido simply snorted at the irritating substance beneath his hooves and walked on. It was annoying, yes, but the more you tried to rub it off the more it got in things. Better to just leave it be. He eyed his sister, having just a brief moment of pity for whatever form of birth defect she had been cursed with before moving on. His sister wouldn't want to be bothered, for fear of being hurt further. His brother however?... The colt smirked as he trotted over to his brother, doing his best to look innocent...even as he tried to kick more of the annoying sand onto the other colt.

"Hey!" He huffed as he hopped back, hooves sliding on the sand as his nose wrinkled again. "Go... Play in the sand somewhere else." He gave his head a light toss, short mane flickering as he trotted down towards the moist sand that seemed less likely to clog everything it could. It was colder down by the water... But at least the sand was clumpy and not dusty.
"Eellaaa." He called after his sister. "Don't wander off too far. Y'know mum worries 'bout you."

She looked up as she heard her name called out. "I'm not wandering..." She'd stopped not far from her siblings almost knee deep in the water. The cold would feel good for a bit before it started to sting. She just had to make sure to keep her shoulders out of it or it would hurt really bad.
"No fighting .. Mum'll get mad." She knew it would only be a matter of time before sand started to fly everywhere.

"We AREN'T fighting, we're playing" Well yes, if one called kicking sand on their sibling playing then that's exactly what Trucido was doing. He snorted and kept to the dry sand. He wasn't going to let something so small force him closer to the chilly water. Trucido simply wasn't very fond of the cold substance.

"You're not a fish, y'know... Or one of those mer ponies either." He reached out to gently nudge his sister's neck with the tip of his nose before turning to glare at his brother. "Playing isn't kicking sand... Go kick sand at mum an' see what she says about t."

"Neither is Mum and she swims fine...." At least their mother liked the water and being in it so why couldn't she play there? So long as she kept her back out of the surf she was fine and wasn't going to drown.
"Kicking sand isn't playing and you know it." She huffed at Trucido as he tried to argue.

"So your kind of play is different from mine. Doesn't mean I'm not playing!"
Trucido tossed his head, snorting at his siblings. He might not have a mane to toss around, but the skull helm was an impressive substitute. Defiant as ever, Tru was not about to budge on his stance of 'play'.

"Because bully so means the same thing as play..." He snorted softly, rolling his eyes before shaking his head. "Should still be careful down here, Ela." As strange as his sister was she was still his sister and he didn't want her getting hurt... Any more than she already hurt.

"I'm being careful." She leaned down and stuck her nose into the water for a moment before looking back up to her brothers. Trucido always bullied them in a way but he'd always been like that. At least he wasn't too bad to her. Probably because he knew she was already a bit touchy about things.
"You two should come play with me. Less sand to kick around." Splashing water was better since that didn't hurt as much when it got in your eyes.

"Fine, but only because you asked Ela." Well at least he -did- care, even if he wouldn't outright admit it. It was better than nothing right? He moved down to the water, entering it carefully so as not to send a bunch of cold water flying towards his poor sister. Once in, he couldn't help but shiver. The water wasn't exactly his favorite place to be...but Ela had asked him...
If it had been his brother however it would have been a different story.

He flexed his wings, fluffing his feathers before pulling the appendages back towards him for warmth, hoping to fend off a bit of the cold air as he waded for a moment. When the next wave splashed a bit too high for his liking he trotted back towards the beach. "It's too cold t'be playing in th'water..."

She trotted over carefully and nudged Trucido in the shoulder. She liked it when her brothers listened to her even if she knew it was probably only because they felt sorry for her. She knew the whole family did, they still loved her but they felt sorry for her too.
"It's not too cold." She looked up at her other sibling. "It's just chilly .... if it was cold i'd ache"

Trucido gave a small huff, but carefully nudged his sister back. If was cold, but at least it had made her happy.
"Oh come on, it's not that bad. Ela seems to be enjoying it just fine."
He couldn't help but smirk a bit over that. If their sister could tolerate the water, then surely the big strong boys could too?
