There had been no repeats of that first crucial incident; in fact, ever since her arrival, the goings had been rather peaceful, if not mildly tense around the den. She'd been respected, and for that she was grateful, however, there was only so much peace and quiet that Kianga could take without bursting; thus was why she'd slipped out of the cave in the middle of the night. The moon hungover the sky, partially hidden by clouds that the pink lioness could only assume would bring rain later on.

Lifting her head, she gazed up, her eyes narrowing as she tried to make note of the stars that littered the black velvet of the sky; little could be seen thanks to the clouds, but it still made for a beautiful scenery. However, it was the lack of light that was to blame for the lioness sudden tripping; that coupled with the fact her front leg had not yet fully healed. She found herself landing face first, into a soft patch of grass, a sound grunted out of her throat. Letting out a sight, she pressed her forehead against the cool patch of land and allowed herself to lay there, slipping her front paws out from under her body, stretching them so they'd later not ache. Only after a while did she shift her frame, moving her head till she'd planted her throat over the grass, her hooded eyes regarding the blades that surrounded her.

It was a beautiful night; she'd always liked the night air. That and... well, laying down cuddled with others inside a cave was not in her nature. Time and time again Nadra had offered her a little niche to cuddle up beside Sawa (the pale lioness did so every day - she meant well though, which was all what mattered) and time and time again, Kianga refused the offer. Not only was not the type for that, but somehow, she felt oddly like... well, a third wheel.

Frowning, she leaned her head slightly in a angle, taking the time to glare at the paw that still caused her to limp; the sooner it healed up, then sooner she'd be able to stop imposing herself on them in that cave. She felt as if her presence was raining on their parade, even though both lions insisted otherwise, for whatever reason. An ear twitched then, as she allowed her eyes to close; maybe she just needed a night out, and a good sleep away from them to settle her thoughts. Then again, maybe what she needed was not that, and instead something else, completely out of reach for her.

Sawa, or Ushaufu as Kianga more often referred to him as, shifted in his sleep. He was cuddled up rather close (almost tangled) to Nadra in a 'corner' of the den. He coughed and shifted again, his body felt very hot and he was going in and out of sleep.

His tail flicked and he sighed softly, eyes blinking open slowly. He yawned and shifted, lightly extracting himself from his mate. He stretched and blinked, eyes floating to where Kianga usually slept. She wasn't there!

His eyes moved around the cave and then to the entrance. Perhaps she went for a walk? He glanced to Nadra. Ah, now would be a good time to talk with the other female. Like when they'd had their first meeting! Well not exactly like that because he really didn't feel like being put down ten times out of ten from everything she said.

His tail twitched as he moved from the den. Well even if he didn't find Kianga he needed a good run or something, he was no longer tired since he'd awoken and his body was too hot to stay so close to Nadra right now.

He began to walk slowly, his gaze floating over the ghastly looking landscape. Everything seemed a bit spooky this time of night. After a while he looked up to the moon and smiled softly. He had been enjoying Kianga's stay with he and Nadra but he felt like she was feeling out of place more often than not. He couldn't do much to change that so he just left it alone, hoping the problem would fix it's self.

"There yeh be." He finally said, loud enough for her to see, as he spotted her pink for laying in the grass. He wondered for a moment if she was hurt, panic leaping up his throat but he calmed himself quickly. No, she was just laying by herself. He hoped she didn't get annoyed he came looking for her!

Kianga had been so out of it, that she didn't really notice Sawa's presence till he spoke; the fact he'd caught her by surprise (something incredibly rare and out of character indeed) was signalled by the way her frame shook, startled out of whatever reverie she'd been drowning in.

"Here I be," she called back softly, her breath playing with the blades of grass around and about as she craned her neck. She could hardly see him in the darkness, but she knew he was there; his eyes were a clear signal, but really, that aside, his form was lost to her eyes. Such were the ups and downs of having a dark pelt, "The question is; why are you here too?" there was no bite in her voice; rather, she seemed mildly curious. After all, as far as she was concerned, logic told her there was no real reason for him to have followed her outside. His mate had been practically clinging to him in her sleep, and dreams must have come to him rather comfortably, so why was it the male was here in the dark of the night, rather than clinging right back to Nadra?

Of course, Kianga would have been a fool to not notice that despite the fact they were mates... Nadra was without a doubt the more enthusiast of the two. She'd been witness of how the male had tried (mostly to no avail) to disentangle himself from the lithe white lioness, or how he'd sneaked off just to get a breath of fresh air. Tell truth, while watching such situations, the pink lioness had been silently amused; never had she made comment of any of this however, for she was the guest and s long they respected her, she owed them the same respect right back. It was only fair, "Nadra's probably waiting for you, Ushu..." a pause as she realised that maybe, just maybe he was worried over her, and thus had come to check she was alright.

Her mind pondered this new notion for hardly a few seconds, her eyes blinking as she shifted her head so she could see him, "I'm fine by the way... just tripped. And I'm too lazy to get up, now. The cave's rather stuffy and..." again she paused, her nose wrinkling as she tried to sort out her thoughts, "I needed some fresh air," she settled for that, her eyes closing, blocking his image, and for the longest of moments, it was almost as if she too had fallen asleep. But no, she was wide awake; fact that was left for clear when she raised her head off the ground, using her front paw to pat the earth beside her, "I won't say no to some company though," it was left at that, for him to take or leave as he wished.

He chuckled as she shook slightly, though he hadn't meant to surprise her. Usually she was very alert. An off night perhaps?

Ah so she was curious why he was out in the night air, following her, instead of snugged close to his mate! Well didn't she have some funny ideas? He laughed to himself and shook his head lightly. He had realized he really rather enjoyed Kianga's company and almost wished she was less intimidating (he'd probably try putting moves on her D<) but he also loved that part about her, how bold she was and straight forward. So really he was just trying to be a good friend and nothing more. Though once he thought about it a little longer he realized she probably wouldn't think anything different.

"Nadra be fine, she's warm an' comfortable." He confirmed, slowly sitting beside her. "I go' too'ot an' needed some air as well. Then I noticed yeh be gone an' was wonderin' if yeh were bailin' out on us cause yeh 'ad enough." He teased lightly, glancing to her and then looked slowly up to the sky.

"Nigh's like these are rare." He commented, with a small grin. It was a little cloudy but the stars were still beautiful. Maybe more beautiful since they peaked through in random spots.
