I was just wondering how long any one has gone with out reading a book... I mean not for school or work or any thing like that, just sat down and curled up with your favorite author, book you've read a million times, or a book you just picked up. I've went one month with out reading then I found a book that I found interesting.

I've gone years without reading a single book. Granted, reading is a pass time for me, not a stress reliever as some books come with a manner of stress to them, and I'm not entirely referring to school material.
Book finding is more or less an exercise, a few hours at a book shop, since there are many here, and if I find something or things I buy it and when I get around to reading them I read them.

I can't go with out reading... I read and reread the books I have. Most of them I have in my memory, but I love rereading them.
Normally, if I know a book in the series I am reading is coming out, I'll go back and read that series from the begining again.

I've never really thought about it....it wouldn't be long! I have some books that I read over and over, I just like to revisit the characters. And sometimes I'll think I haven't read a book and then get a chapter in and I think to myself hang on a minute!!!! But there is nothing like cracking open a spanking new book....heaven! Lately I've been picking up bargains on ebay, so not so new smile But still great

I would say I have gone 5 days without reading a book while I was at the Christian Camp I attended for many years, but we were allowed (and encouraged) to read the bible and that is what kept me from going insane. I'm not sure if just having the bible to read would be considered under the required reading stuff. Otherwise the longest I have gone without reading a book is about a day and a half. It got so bad that I was reading every single sign and billboard on the bus trip. (We went to Florida from Indiana and I'm not allowed to read on car trips because it makes me queasy.)

I have been known to go for a few months without really reading anything. my mom always worries about me whenever that happens.

There have been several 3 month stints that I haven't read anything. Mostly due to military obligations. though there was a period that I was in a drunken stupor (alcohol BAD). For the most part I keep one or two books open all the time. Though I didn't get into reading until I was in high school.

I think my longest stint was close to a year. Just because I couldn't find any good books to read. confused When I find a good one I don't put it down and then it ends. Why do good books have to end? sad crying

I could probably only last about a week without reading a book. Otherwise I might just go insane!

I can go for ages without reading, and then pick a series up where I left off without starting from the beginning.
I don't like to go more than a week without reading. Especially since I own so many books I haven't read yet, and I always buy more. The longest I ever went was four months. It was painful.
