I watched it before Sat, and I actually got my mom to sit down (almost) against her will. She missed almost all of season 3, but she got hooked and watched it with me anyway.
I was pretty disappointed that Cain was made into a lesbian, not because I'm against that or anything, but more that it seems token (like just because she a hard a** woman, she MUST be a lesbian).
I thought Kendra was a good character to see everything through, especially since that move seems risky. But she has the gravitas to pull it all off, even portraying some of the more horrific moments on Pegasus (like the massacre).
It was interesting to see Lee showing his leadership capabilities, even going so far as to fail (or close to it) and end up kill a portion of his crew.
The original hybrid made me wonder. What was he really? Is he still important? How was he made? (thought they hint at the beginnings of organic Cylon models)
I must have forgotten something along the way, which I will try to add. I loved this ep, and I hope that the last season measures up to its quality..

Razor now makes me think Adama's more likely to be the last final 5 than I did before, seeing as he was the only one on that cylon ship at the end of the war, and came in contact with those people stuck behind the metal door.
Lol.. While I was just looking though a DVD store on my lunch break at work, I thaught I might as well look for the BSG stuff, and there was a woman also looking there. she asked if I knew when Razor and season 3 were comeing out on DVD. Whatever, we had a small talk about what happened and what might have been revealed on Razor, and I braught up that Adama could be the last final 5, and she was calling it crazy conspiracy theories as she walked off lol...

I didn't see the "lesbian" thing as tokenism. I thought it was done really tactfully and matter-of-fact, and it's kind of nice to see a queer relationship on television dealt with that way. And I kind of felt that while Cain was a hardass to begin with, the Cain we knew from Season 2 was how she was in part as a result of being manipulated by a Six. It's not so much she's a queer woman, therefore she's a hardass as it is that she's a hardass as a result of being sexually manipulated.
I'm curious to know more about the Hybrid. Right now, I think his prophesy is more misdirection than truth. I'm having a hard time believing that Kara is the harbinger of the apocalypse.

I must have missed the whole lesbian subtext, or something.
I wondered about the hybrid too. He was lucid, whereas the other hybrid we've seen wasn't, so what does that mean? Also, he was older, so I wonder if he aged.
Now I wonder what's going to happen when Starbuck leads the fleet to Earth.
Also, Kendra Shaw was badass. She was an intriguing character, although the massacre was just nuts.
It was nice to gain some perspective on Lee's leadership on the Pegasus too.

I am still a little mixed about Cain and Gina's relationship. On one hand, I think it's a good portrayal of a two female relationship and puts to rest some of the fans' complaints that every one on BSG was heterosexual. On the other hand, the reason I brought it up and the reason it bugged me was because Gina's betrayal and torture and how it affected Cain weren't issues brought up in the movie. They hinted at it in one scene, and left it at that. They didn't really get to confront each other or share enough screen time to delve into it. Which should have been done better, as I was trying to get at initially. They put the relationship up there and didn't give it enough... time or whatever it needed. I'm also confused as to why Kara is the one bringing about the apocalypse. WTF? Why her, what's going on? Those are my questions, as the label doesn't really fit.

Quixotic Faye I must have missed the whole lesbian subtext, or something. It wasn't really subtext if you watch again. Gina spells it out for ya and I may be mistaken, but I think there's some onscreen kissing/lovemaking.

And have you seen all of season 3, yet? If you haven't, that would answer some of your questions. And I really don't think she is, but that's another matter entirely. :3
