Since no other store (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc) that sells videogames knows s**t about them, I find myself forced to go to Game Stop and EB Games.
Purpose of Thread:
+Discuss how Gamestop finds the BIGGEST assholes to work their store. +Discuss how buying anything remotely-M$ results in them shoving Halo 3 down your throat. +Share personal experiences of your trip(s) to GS/EBG +How much Viking pwns (selling broken 360 to GS = teh win)

Well, the people at mah local Gamestop are actually pretty nice, and most of them are PC/PS3 fans, so yeah. Plus, Im like the only one who even goes there anymore, everyone goes to the Super Target down the street, so they get paid to stand there and do nothing or play WiiSports. It's the main reason I get to test out new games, that and the 16 or so Wii's scattered around Six Flags..... Anyways, story time. I got around to playing Madden 08 on the 360 with one of the clerks, and I was whooping a** the the Panthers, while he was getting a** whooped with the lowly Dolphins. Anyways, when it was 34-12, me in favor, he dropped the controller, pulled out a DS from his pocket, and said," Alright then, I'll whoop your a** in Mario Karts." To which I respond,"One, I have no DS yet, and 2, wigga please, your not even holding the DS right." He looked down, and as I said, he was holding the DS backwards. Added bonus, the game inside was Tetris DS, and he was missing his stylus. The clerk chic behind the counter proceeded to ROFL for about 5 minuets, the we got back to playing Madden. He came close to winning too, 34-32. Yah, I love those Gamestop Guys. Would have bought mah DS ZLite if they had extra ones, instead of just the Nintendogs version...... *Waits for yall to calls me crazy* ~Daxelman~

Well, here I go on my tangents...
You guys might know this story if you read my thread on bad service at stores, but here goes:
So I have a Wii. Got one scarcely two months ago. I already have DBZ, Zelda, Rampage, NFS Carbon, Wii Sports. I'm having awesome fun with my Wii. So, to further check it out, I decided I want some WiiPoints.
SO. I go inside Gamestop, I look on the shelf where the Wii accessories are, because I figure that's where the cards would be. I see no space for them there, so I decide to ask the person behind the counter. She struck me as a "Little Miss THANG" person, and apparently I was right. "Excuse me, do you have any WiiPoints cards in stock?" Here's what I get.
"Pfft! Do you see any WiiPoints up there? Feh." I don't even change my face. I just give her a cold straight in the eye so she knows that I'm not ******** around. She immediately looks down and says "Sorry, we don't have any WiiPoints cards in stock; we might have some in stock." I just turned and left.
We decided to pick up Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and waited on line. So there's this kid in front of us buying six games. It's not hard to ring up six games, pay for them, put them in a bag, and go home, right? Wrong. This woman (same one who gave me attitude) was TALKING UP A STORM. I mean, GODDAMN. I wasn't even listening to what they were talking about, I was just amazed at how long I was waiting on that line. I was on it FAR longer than I should have. Thank god, another clerk who actually had common sense asked me to the second counter, and we rang up the game and left. Done deal. Took less than two minutes. I don't remember the last time I went back to that Gamestop.
Here's the scary thing: If I ever go to Gamestop (I usually don't buy from there, just play the demo stations.) I go to the one closer to my house. I go in once, and I felt my heart freeze when I saw that woman behind the counter. I was like "Oh, thank GOD I'm just browsing."
So yeah, Gamestop has some horrible workers. Unfortunately, that's where I'm gonna be buying Resistance: Fall of Man, considering it was out of stock at Toys R Us where I bought the Ps3 and at my other game store it wasn't even there with the Ps3 games.

There's actually a Gamestop in a mall near where I live with some good staff. But in all the Gamestops I've been to, good staff is a rare feat.

Whenever I go to get a game/console/handheld/accessory I never need their knowledge. I know exactly what I'm looking for. If I don't see what I'm looking for then they don't have it. I'm not being forced to go to Gamestop. I don't know your needs. @Wii4Mii: I've seen some a*****e idiot ones and I've seen really cool ones that knew what they were talking about.

So, I go to Gamestop, to pick up the last Fire Emblem:Radiant Dawn. Simple enough. Before paying, the guy goes "Do you want to become a member? 10% off" Me: No Him: Is there anything else? Me: everything's covered. Him: Do you want to trade in anything? Me:No Him: you sure? Me: yeah. Him: Do you want to preorder anything? Me: nope?
Valuable time wasted.

Pre-order suck a** at Gamestop.
Seriously once you have a pre-order sometimes it's never there or it gets there late. I would know..My damn Megaman X Collection got delayed and I had to get it four days late.
Plus sometimes the fact some stores have different pricing than other stores, like for example. $45 for Zelda Collection for the GCN while I got it for $38 somewhere else.

I'm talking about general stuff. Do you have any______, when will you get more of __________, etc.I remember when I was Wii hunting I'd ask if they knew when they were getting Wii's and they'd tell me a date. (They'd tell me any date to make me leave. ) I come in that date before the store opens and there's no Wii's. They said they were told days ago they weren't getting any. I was ******** there and they knew they weren't getting any and they told me a random date! They don't know the answers half the time. I was in Gamestop and I asked if they had any DS/Wii Wifi USB Adapters (When I was looking into it.) and they looked at me like they had no clue what I was talking about. This was Gamestop! scream I say ditch all those and go to Toys R Us. They have a decent selection and they know for the most part what they are talking about. lol

I actually think that the employyes are more annoying when they DO know what they're talking about...
Me: "Hey, do you have any PSPs in stock?" Clerk: "Yeah, we have a silver model that comes with a 1gb memory card-" Me: "-and the game Daxter. Yeah, no plain black?" Clerk: "Well, we also have a slim white model that comes with-" Me: "-Star Wars with a Vader silkscreen. Yes. Thank you. Any models that don't come with a game I don't want?" Clerk: "I doubt it." Me: "Thanks, I guess I'm going to Best Buy."
It was Black Friday and all nonbundled PSPs were sold out, everywhere. And I do mean everywhere: Best buy, Gamestop, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target. I ended up getting the Star Wars pack. I have alot of downtime now that the show I'm working on has opened and I didn't want to go another day without some portable gaming. I've never needed it before, but life is funny like that...
