Bailey yawned and stretched in the sunlight, he had managed to bound from ship to ship for a few days now, just trying to find a place to stay. Currently, he was residing in a little clearing just outside a portside town, enjoying the warm summer day as it beat down against him. Naturally, Bailey was being lazy and just sunbathing as per usual to him though he needed entertainment, it was just so booooring travelling alone.
He opened his crimson eyes to slid around the clearing, examining anything coming towards him from the trees surrounding his hiding place. He wanted someone to come and play with him!! He whined and strettched again, rolling on to his stomach with a purr and a small meow. He was enjoying the warmth of the sun.

Tategami had come to the town about ten years ago on a raft made of driftwood. Contrary to people's views about the Felis family, his kind were very fond of the water, especially when it was hot outside. But the sea was altogether a different matter and he really didn't want to make the trip again. And so he had stayed, set up his own business and had managed to integrate into what was an entirely elf community, which was noeasy feat. He currently ran a souvenir shop on the docks, and not all of his treasures were entirely legal, but then again neither was the nature of many of the sailors thereabouts. Still he had a pretty tough way of dealing with shoplifters and it had become a regular feature of the docks to see some poor pirate fleeing the little hut in terror with a limb missing. He really hated thieves.

It was only a matter of time before Bailey found himself wandering around the docks, attracted to the fact this place was ten times more interesting then the clearing he had found. The honey brunette-haired male neko was intrigued by all the different sized people and big, ornate ships. He had seen many people and species, but they almost always surprised him in how different they looked from each other. From the thin merchants to burly sailors, even the squat little elves who ran merchant companies and such things intrigued him.
But nothing intrigued him more then the little hut that seemed somehow...different from the other stalls. He wandered towards it, eyes wide and curious as he entered cautiously, gazing around at all the foreign objects it held. He had no idea what kind of shop this was, but he was intrigued beyond belief.

Tategami looked up from the book he was reading the shop's bell jingled merrily to notify him that someone had entered. Potential customers never slipped past the barrier. He glanced at the new arrival curiouslt.
Strange. This being was not an elf, though he had the face of one, but his ears and tail and not to mention his scent said otherwise. Perhaps he was some sort of weird Elf/cat hybrid. How embarrassing. The salt oni went back to his reading always keeping one eye on the weird cat man. He was free to browse, but if he did anything suspicious he would be ready.

Bailey looked around the shop, he had picked up on a scent that was a little feline...though it wasn't totally feline. He swivelled around to try and pick out the person or thing that was giving off that scent, stalking through the shop as he peered around and through the shelves to try and see whoever they were. He finally spotted Tategami and cocked his head to the side inquisitively, mewing softly as he bounded over to stare at the male's odd appearance.

The salt oni looked up again, a disgruntled expression on his face. His tan white-tipped ears flicked slightly below his large horns with annoyance.
"Can I help you at all." he said dryly, as he set his book to one side, he'd lost his place anyway.

Bailey blinked as Tategami spoke, one hand stilling on its way to touching his horns. This persoe...er...thingy was strange. He had never seen anyone like him and Bailey was naturally drawn to the uniqueness, he blinked as he was spoken to and pouted. That wasn't a very nice way to talk to people! His hand darted out and poked his horn.
"why do you have these? why are you grumpy? what is this place? you're pretty! you shouldn't talk to people like that you know, it's not really very nice because they could take offence and then you'd have no friends and friends are good, becuase friends make you feel better. What's your name? I'm Bailey" Bailey rambled, still poking absently at Tategami's horns, he was way too curious about this panther...thingy.

Tategami blinked at the cat boy. Did he just...touch him? Ok, someone was deffinitely going to get thrown off the dock today, and it wasn't going to him. He was so insensed that he hadn't listened to a word the cat-thing had been saying. It all sounded like noise to him anyway, and an incredibly annoying noise at that.
"So...you gonna buy something, or are you just going to babble at me all day?" he said.

Bailey didn't seem to notice any problem with touching Tategami's horns. They were pretty and he had pretty markings on his fur, he just wanted to snuggle him! He purred in enjoyment, his hand moving to pet Tategami on the head, testing how soft his fur was. It was really, really soft!
"buy something?" he asked curiously, cocking his head to the side as he looked away from Tategami and around the shop, what would he want to buy. "do you have candyfloss? or catnip stuffed mice toys?" he asked, turning back to grin at Tategami. "hey! you dodged my questions!"
