 Tope had been rest quietly under the tree but something woke him up-either a bird or something-he didn't know. All he knew was that sleep went away way to quickly than he would have liked. He yawned-his pink tongue curling. He stretched. He had fallen asleep a distance away from the family's little patch of thick trees and bushes-where they lived in peace. He didn't like the peace and often interupted it-so he had gone off on his own to get some sleep away from the siblings. So-he lay on his side, wrapped around a tree, with his paws curled. He sniffed, his pink eyes watering with the light of the sun-it was the middle of the day and he should be doing something other than sleeping.
So, he stretched and contemplated getting up but today-he was lazy.

 Kasa walked along a small path. The grass had been worn down from many rogues traveling down it, and she was following suite. She had been out hunting, and her belly was full from the days kill. She walked along lazily, not wanting to exert herself too much. She wanted her food to digest. Her ears flicked back and forth as the wind tickled the sensitive hairs on the tips. She noticed a large tree, and thought it was the perfect place to rest herself.
As she walked over, she noticed a dark brown tail tuft. "Excuse me," she said as she looked around the tree to the other inhabitant, "would be too much to ask if I may be able to join you?" The soft spoken lioness asked. She stayed a close distance away from the young male, not knowing if he was of the friendly type.

Tope yawned and stretched, his paws reaching in front of him as he stood. He shook himself off and blinked slowly, trying to get the sleep from his mind. He then heard a females voice, and turned to see the golden lioness. He felt a bit startled, but he didn't mind a bit of company. After all-he was the son of a very well known softy and his father had done well to teach his children respect and manners.
He nodded and smiled in greeting. I don't mind at all... be my guest He said, tossing his head towards the tree's shade.

Kasa smiled gently and nodded her head, "Thank you." She walked a few steps closer to the male and lie down. Her ears flicked around lightly before she stopped and looked north, her green eyes watching the horizon closely. After a few quick moments, she snapped out of her daze and started to groom herself. "Oh, please excuse me, my name's Kasa." She said as she smiled up to the younger brown male.

Tope still felt he weariness falling into his eyes and he shook his head-his mouth yawning. It was such a weary day and with all the stress with his brother being so mopey... and Tope was still going to leave-but... guilt... stuck into his heart and it was horrid. It was his brother after all... ugh.
He laughed and looked too her... Its alright... I'm Tope... nice to meet you Kasa... He said starting to clean himself-for even though his appearance was a muddy brown-he was dirty occasionally

Kasa smiled softly, "Pleasure." she watched him as he groomed. She watched him quietly, her deep green eyes focusing on his fur pattern. His paw dipped in chocolate brown, as the same color swirls laced around his back. His pink eyes accented the fur color so nicely. She made note of the fur pattern and his name.
After she finished studying him, she flicked her ears lightly. "What brings you out here?" She blinked lightly against the bright sun."

It was true-Tope and his family had very diffrent markings upon their hides-involving sharp symbols and in the future-swirls and patterns, a trait from his father. His eyes from his mother-and some of her coloring... the swamp pride colors... the place they were exiled from.
A shame really-he would have been an excelent swampy.
He looked over too her and nodded his adu, nestling himself down and sensing a nice afternoon of talking with this female-in the glow of the sun-under the sky. He looked up and said with a laugh I am just enjoying the day... away from my siblings... I have three and they get a bit-overwelming now

Once again, Kasa's eyes were fixed on the other lions. She liked to keep eye contact with whoever she was conversing with, thinking it rude to do anything else. She smiled softly at the mention of the three, "It must be nice living with three others." She said, looking back to the horizon. "I was a single cub in my mothers litter."
She remembered the time with her parents, traveling on the Savannah, spending nights in makeshift dens. Her mother would teach her how to hunt, while her father taught her to fight. She missed them dearly, but knew that going off on her own to find her own family was essential for her own growing.

Tope thought about her comment and wondered about it... for sometimes it was horrid to be around his family all the time-but he never knew anything diffrent. So it was his norm. He blinked cooly and smiled-for despite the crap he had to go through sometimes-he loved his family and despite the anger that he felt towards his father-he loved him too. He chuckled and shut his left eye, in a wink so to speak. Yeah... Its okay... just me and my parents and my brother and sisters... it always has been... so I am used too it... but I think I will miss it dearly when I leave here... he said softly, gazing around at the distance and how beautiful it was-the pridelands... He often thought about staying here with Jini-but she wished to wander home... and he would follow.
Because of his love for her.
He thought about Jini for a moment-glad that he was soon going to start a new life in a new place... and he was thrilled. This place is all I have ever really known. I can't remember much of the swamplands... we left at a very young age... I am surprised we all survived

She thought about her future. Her golden body curled around a strong lion, cubs playing with each other under their watchful eyes. She always wanted a big family, it was something she never had or was able to experience. She tried to picture six cubs, their markings and fur color were fuzzy, after all, it would be strange for them to only look like her.
For a moment, she wondered why Tope was leaving his family. With the way he mentioned his feelings, it seemed that he loved them dearly. She shrugged it off, it was his personal business and she wouldn't pry. After all, they just met.
The swamp lands? She had heard of the lands and the strange traditions that followed. She would never understand them fully, "You were born in the Swamplands?" She asked, her ears perking up.
She tried to imagine living in such a dark place. To her, it seemed depressing, growing up with the swamp all around.

Tope nodded with a smile. Yeah... I was born there and so was my older sister.. my mother was a member and my father-her mate... and well... everything there was nice and all-my Mother loved it and my father grew to love it too. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have lived there past my birth-we left when my eyes were still shut but... My father had explained what happened and such... and its a pity-that we couldn't stay... and that we may never go back.
Course now-I live here and I have open sky... my father missed it apparently... my brother really likes mud-like my mom... and I find it fun as well at times.. but otherwise... I like it here he said with a smile the whole time. He loved his life and everything around it-but he hated the fact it was all because of his father.
He looked at her and smiled warmlyBut-I'll be leaving soon-cause I am leaving... with my m-m... I suppose she is my mate... erm... my mate... to the Kusini Mwenzi

She smiled softly, "I like living here too." she looked up to the sky. "I can't imagine living in a place blocked by the sun. I love it's warmth too much." She smiled brightly, letting out a soft laugh.
At the mention of the other, her heart soar. "A mate, congratulations." She could understand the love for a mate strongly out weighing the love of a family. "Must be nice to have someone to share your life with."

Tope blushed and covered his head with a paw. It wasn't very often he got praise for something-especiall this... he hadn't really even told his parents. He blinked over at her and nodded. It wasn't so bad apparently. My parents lived there for a long time-so... He said, sitting back on his hind legs and tucking his front paws into his chest.
Yep... we are going to head off into the kusini mwenzi lands soon.... to start a life there... That's where she is from and thats where I want to go.... for her sake

Kasa yawned softly. It was a lazy day. Her green eyes looked over to the horizon. Travel. She'd always wanted to, but she didn't have the guts to go. She knew how big the Pridelands were, and she didn't want to think about how much earth was under that big blue sky. A silence fell over her as she thought about what it would be like to know more of that sky.
