Although the stallion had only arrived to the lands a few days ago, he was slowly making mental notes of where things were, what places seemed friendly and what to watch out for. Already he had heard rumors of those with wings, carnivorous and cannibalistic soquilis with a hunger for flesh, and even dazzling individuals who were fragile just as butterflies. The open plains near the village where the humans resided was a place he often wandered to as he found himself to watch and admire the creatures as they seemed to sing and chant to the heavens while little ones played and even other soquili seemed to keep near its surroundings. Kimahri continued to remain silent as he meandered about with a strange curiosity while the small otter kept at his heels.

"So big guy, what's the plan? We're not gonna stick around here forever are we?" Xeno spoke up as he continued to scamper and slink alongside the pacing stallion.

"Kimahri doesn't know," he admitted with a slight musing tone as he wandered away from the village, glancing back for a moment until he directed his attention to the otter. "Kimahri has seen enough of the village- Kimahri wants to find others and...learn."

Xeno's small brows knitted slightly but with a nod of his head he smiled.

"I'll go wherever you go, buddy, since I don't think we'll be heading back to the mountains anytime soon. But what is it you want to learn? I mean- down here its like a new world! Are you sure you want to try to learn everything?"

The plains and terrain were vastly different compared to the mountains where the Ronso's held their traditions, festivals and customs. It seemed that rather than a great uniform of ways of life that there were so many options and approaches as to how one could live and celebrate the joy of life, living and even ones own happiness. Although the stallion was reserved and didn't vocalize much as a fault of the strong and silent type, Kimahri did want to learn or at least find others to associate with. He was glad that Xeno stuck with him through all of this but, at the same time, he did want to have friends or feel needed. His veins coursed with the desire and need to be a protecter as that was his forte that used his strength and speed but- well, before he could aid and continue learning about this strange place he did need to find someone.

As the otters question lingerd within his mind, the unicorn managed to give a slight smile.

"Yes- I will learn. I will learn everything." Glancing around as the two wandered farther and father into the open lands, Kimahri happened to glance in the direction of the mountains and exhaled deeply. "Kimahri can never return. This is Kimahri and Xeno's new home. I make this home."

It stil panged him to see the place that was his home and knowing he could never return. But he brushed it off once more and set his sights before him. Though he wasn't sure where he was going or who he'd run into, the stallion could only hope he'd find someone out there.

The small colt couldn’t really tell where he was. The cold of last night had been awful and he had snuggled up tightly against his mamma and sister in hopes of fighting off the cold that constantly plagued him. Draezan looked right then left before darting towards the next tree that could block the wind off of his tan coat. Black and silver wings were tucked tightly to his body, and he tried to hide the fact that some of the feathers were still falling out. He wondered if that was normal, and his mamma always refused to answer questions about what was wrong with him. In fact, if she knew that he had snuck out of the hazy-hot teepee to go out and adventure she’d probably come close to blowing up. It wasn’t fair though.

“What was I thinking?” Draezan shut his coal black eyes and breathed deeply. The cold air usually made him cough really hard, but he was getting stronger.

The mountains loomed up overhead and he wanted to go and see them, his sister Rhoswen, winged like himself but without the horn or lion’s tail had probably gotten to see them. A bit of green jealously was probably visible right now.

He wasn’t sure what she got to do, but it was probably more than him.

Stuck in that stupid teepee for days and days on end, only coming out when there was a break in the cold. He’d been born with a harsh cough and had come out of his basket almost two full days after Rhoswen, but why did that mean he had to be inside so much?

A hard gust of wind caught the little colt unprepared and he stumbled forward, nearly missing something blue and small that he’d not even noticed because of closed eyes. Oh boy, it wasn’t just some strange blue piece of wood. The creature was alive and probably irritated at him for nearly stepping on it. Squeaking in a rather unmanly fashion, Draezan shot forward to find somewhere else to hide. He could use his hooves to count the number of Soquilis he had met in his just budding life. His mamma, daddy, sister, and that annoying flower-colt. Social etiquette was high up on the list of things he’d be needing to learn about and soon. A large oak tree was perfect for hiding behind and even better for getting the adrenaline that rushed and flew through his small body. Why did the little creature scare him?

Great. Just great. His day of adventuring and he was already hiding behind a tree.

He wanted to go towards the mountains, his mamma had never been up there as far as he knew.. But then too his mamma didn’t have wings to go way up high! Whoah, whoah, focus Drae. Have to get around the little creature before I can go closer. He peaked back and saw the smoke from his home..

Or..

No. Not turning around. Finally his head peaked out from behind the tall tree and he spoke quietly. Almost not able to be heard and his eyes were screwed tightly shut. The big unicorn would probably make him run in terror. “I.. Uhm.. Sorry if I stepped on you.”

Xeno seemed to swagger about, a little off sides from the massive stallion as his eyes leveled with the horizon- keeping a timely pace but giving an occasional glance upwards with a grin. Before he could say anything or his next brilliant suggestion and boost of confidence could be suggested, a suddenly on coming sound of hooves and a blur seemed to stumbel over him and thankfully not stepping on him- even though he gasped, breathing suddnely increased as the otter felt as if his ver heart was soon to burst from out of his chest.

"KIMAHRI!" He exclaimed, suddenly latching onto the stallions leg and clinging fiercely to it. "DON'T LET IT GET ME!"

Truth be told, the otter hadn't quite seen what exactly had grazed over him but by holding tight to his buddies leg he felt more secure.

He hadn't really seen a colt before and since departing from his ocean home and roaming with Kimahri it seemed that Xeno still had a lot to learn about the land dwellers and their lifestyle. It seemed perfect that Kimahri also was learning about them as well and both of their curiosities seemed drive them onwards. Although the stallion always remained the strong silent type of individual, Xeno was the noble (well- noble but a bit afraid) and the talkative one that could speak and answer questions on their behalf.

Kimahri had managed to catch sight of the small figure that had darted into the brush and behind a tree. He shook his head, chuckling deeply. "Kimahri thinks there is no reason for Xeno to be scared- it was only a colt."

"A colt?"

The stallion nodded his head. "A young one."

The brows of the otter knitted slightly as he loosened his grip from Kimahris leg and slinked forwards to where the tree stood. Kimahri followed as well although keeping a comfortable distance between he and the colt since the last thing he wanted to do was scare the poor kid out of his mind. Flicking his ears as his sleek and tapered lions tail swayed behind him in a causal manner, both smiled as the little colt peeked his head from out behind the tree and spoke so, so softly that the two had to listen carefully to hear.

The stallion shook his head. "Little colt didn't step on Xeno- he's fine," he chuckled, flicking his tail at the otter.

Xeno nodded his head fervently and smiled a bit wider.

"You just scared me that's all."

Ocher eyes settled upon the small colt with a small, suttle smile. The stallion tilted his head ever so slightly as he shifted his weight from his feet causing his armor to clink and clank. "What's your name?"

Draezan was feeling rather awful about nearly trampling on whatever the strange little creature was… but at the same time he had never been out of him and it was awfully scary to run into someone literally… His mind slowed down just a little bit and it made a bit more sense now. It was just some ground creature that he had been walking along innocently and he had almost trampled them. Poor little Draezan.. the thought went through his mind once again and he tried to shake that way quickly. Pity wasn’t going to get him anything that he wanted because nobody would care. Especially if the thing next to him was one of those Kah-loneys.

Don’t let him get him? Why would Drae want to do that. He peaked out from his hiding space… just to get a better look.
Fear made him not take a very good look thought and hiding back behind the tree every few seconds also made it scary. Nobody to cling to for him.
His mamma kept him at home, because the cough and sickness that he had been born with warred with the cold weather. When push came to shove Draezan knew he’d be healthier if his mother had just let him be outside. Unfortunately, there was also something that neither he knew about nor his sister. Rhoswen probably had more privileges than him when it came to freedom… Man he was certainly a broken record today. He just needed to learn more. Then his mind could wander out onto different topics.

No reason to be afraid? Aw come on now.. He had been terrified out of his mind and they figured out right away that he wasn’t even slightly scary. A pout formed on his face. Someday he would be scary and formidable like his papa.
Or else!

Not like I’m thaaat young…

He hadn’t done the other any harm! Draezan had spoken then darted back behind the tree in hopes that he’d not and if it had happened then he wouldn’t get into trouble. A colt’s biggest worries as a little one was always if he was going to get into trouble for what he or she had done.. or if the punishment was going to be coming.. if it could possibly not be all that bad. His own lion’s tail was tucked in a bit. No harm done to the other one, but was there any chance of him getting hurt still?

Stepping shyly out from behind the tree, Drae looked up at the blue unicorn.. “Xeno? So I didn’t hurt him?”

A hesitant smile went across his face..
“You.. you scared me too.. what are you by the way?”
Wait.. was that rude? All well, that’s okay.. they’d probably heard that question before. “My name is Draezan.. my mamma just calls me Drae though.” Crap.. that sounded so immature.

Xeno shook his head simply as his small body relaxed and soothed to a more at ease posture.

"No, no, no. You missed me- fancy footwork and a quick reaction kept me from being made into a good rug," he teased rather playfully, giving a soft laugh as he glanced upwards towards the rather large stallion, looking back towards the colt and then up again to his friend somewhat hesitant on how he would react to the question.

Kimahri tilted his head slightly, managing to smile and chuckle himself as his own tattered and sleek lions tail swayed and curled around his leg. Somehow it was both relatively easy yet hard to describe what he was and somehow a soquili with armor wouldn't cut nor cure the colts curiosity. "Kimahri is part of the Ronso herd- I am from the mountains. Ronso's are big, Ronso's are strong and larger than other soquili. Ronso's are different," he explained, nodding his head as his speech was rather deep in tone but soft and mellow in its own way."

It was confusing- he never did speak very much but when he did it was noticeable that the grammar was somewhat different and disfunctional with its use. But in a way it was normal- there were times where Kimahri spoke just fines and other times that it could be a little hard to understand him but, for most, it made sense for the most part.

He seemed to subconciously stumble within his thoughts of the lack of a horn atop his forehead and of his mountain home. It was his problem to deal with the one who took his horn and how it was a disgrace to be without such an asset but there was no way for it to grow back and redemption would have to be prove by his own means and actions.

Those pierced and sleek ears perked upwards as he gave a slight tilt of his head while his brows furrowed.

"Dra...Draezan," he let it roll off his tongue- still unfamiliar with the sound. "Drae easier to say for Kimahri."

Finding more courage to come closer towards the colt, as he tapped against Drae's leg with a flipper with more curiosity. He hadn't quite been familiar with soquili or colts for that matter- it was all so new to him! How had he ignored the outside world for so long?

"So what brings you out here, Drae?" The otter inquired as his pursed his small lips and gave a twitch of his nose. "Did you follow us form the village or are you just exploring?"

Draezan kept his eyes on the little otter for awhile. He had only seen one before and that was in passing.

The otter was quite lucky to have fancy footwork and all of that. Drae usually just stumbled all over the place the way uncle Caelen did when he got into the villages firewater. Then Auntie Azariel got real mad and yelled at him and… whoah. Way off of topic right now.

The colt lifted his eyes up to the stallion and felt tiny again. Draezan was the exact same as Kimahri… well, save for the fact that the big blue stallion didn’t have wings and Draezan felt rather nude in comparison. His daddy had clothes, but he had a necklace. It was special enough. Puffing just a just a bit, Draezan’s mind managed to come back into functioning mode while Kimahri spoke. “Oh.. So you’re kind of like my uncle Caelen? He comes from a far away place an’ he has an accent. Once someone made fun of him for it.. An’ he was really upset.” The colt’s voice was rather quiet… but he was hanging in.

Draezan didn’t have a probably with the giant’s speech, in fact he was pleaded it was something his mind could grasp pretty well. His lion’s tale swished back and forth, almost like a friendly puppy. He wasn’t willing to betray the fact that a cough was building in the back of his throat, harsh and painful.. And even the mildness of today felt bitter.

The giant stallion had picked up his nickname without even a second thought! Good, now he wouldn’t have to ask to have it used.

“I’m glad you got my nickname… I’m only Draezan when I’m in trouble.. Just Drae.. Thass me.”

The otter had gotten his attention back again, and the colt leaned his head down to speak at eye level. That was the polite thing to do right? Maybe the wind wouldn’t be so bad close to the ground. “I’m… well, I’m not sure what I’m doin’ but mamma won’t be happy when she finds out that I’m gone from home.” Telling the truth… sucked.

Taking a shaky breath in, wishing for the heat of the teepee and the ability to breath deeply and not cough at all, Drae stretched his wings out for a moment, plainly showing the missing feathers and the lack luster of some that were just ripe for falling out and onto the ground.

“I was born a bit.. Different… Mamma keeps me in.. but it didn’t look too cold out. You don’t think it’s cold do you?” He puffed up and wished for even half a clue as to how to seem more grown up.

Even as Drae seemed to feel tiny, Kimahri felt like some lumbering giant as the height difference between colt and stallion was rather vast. But none the less Kimahri found himself rather curious of the colt before him along with the curiosity and lack of knowlege pertaining to his surroundings. Yet while there still was sorrow embedded within his heart due to having been banished from his home, the stallion sought to try to become acustomed to the lowlands.

Ocher orbs settled upon the colt as a solemn smile tugged at his maw. "Kimahri perhaps is like Uncle Caelen," the stallion remarked more in a light musing tone. "Kimahri doesn't like it much when people mock him but some tell Kimahri that when he is silent and gives a good stare they don't bother him again." The stallion chuckled deeply as his lions tail swayed behind him in a nonchalant manner.

How true it was!

It seemed that the remedey for riddng of someone was to be silent and give a stern stare and perhaps a flare of ones nostrils to rid of whoever was pestering him. Although it hadn't worked back in the herd quite often it certainly did when those who sought to make a row or cause trouble at the mountain came face to face with him. Besides would one really want to fight against a stallion cladded in armor?

It would seem that the outcome of the fight was already pre-determined, really.

Xeno curled up around the stallions front leg, listening to the two of them and still even awestruck himself. With living in the sea for so long it seemed that he was missing out on so many things! But now with Kimahri he had time to catch up and experience the things which he has been missing out on.

Kimahri smiled. "Drae is easier for Kimahri to say and there's no need to call Drae by his full name- Drae isn't in trouble."

As attention was focused on Xeno's question, the otter perked its small ears upwards and pursed his lips. He could understand with a mother being so worried about its own child gone missing but as for what a 'punishment' would mean well he wasn't quite sure even if the colt would be punished! Customs of the soquili eluded him.

"Oooo- well I don't think we can just leave you out here," the otter commented with a nod of his head. "I mean- if your moms gonna be worried than at least we can help you get out of trouble or something." I

t seemed like a good plan to Xeno and with that he nodded his head again and smiled. But as both Kimahri and Xeno focused upon the colt they both gave a meager clance to one another. The poor colt seemed optimistic in a sense in spirits but tired, worm as even missing feathers dotted his wings and in a condition that seemed sad. Neither of them would ask him as they felt prying and something that could very well be a sensitive subject. But both wanted to at least help out and make sure that little Drae would get back home.

"Kimahri thinks it's not cold."

"Not really cold to me either," Xeno chipped in. "But perhaps the big guy and I can walk you home? I mean- we don't want your mother to worry or anything and perhaps we can just reassure her and explain to her that you're okay and didn't get into trouble?"

For a colt who seemed to be battling something yet still have the desire to be outside seemed to strike both stallion and otter as someone who was a bit more grown up.

Kimahri nodded along with Xeno.

"Would Drae like that?"
