This is the place where you can leave your suggestions, comments, etc about the guild newspaper.

Tell is if you liked this issue, if you didn't like this issue. Tell us what you liked or didn't like about it.

Tell us what you'd like to see in future newspapers, such as which herb, gemstone, god, etc that you'd like to read about.

Tell us what new articles we should have.

Just tell us anything really. We love to hear our members' feedback. And don't worry about hurting anyone's feelings. We need constructive criticism and your ideas to be able to make this newspaper better.

Here are some ideas/suggestions that have been given so far:
- A beginner craft practitioners section (how to get started)
- An advanced craft practitioners section
- An animal totem section
- A magickal creatures section (dragons, unicorns, faries, etc)
- A current events article. What's going on in the pagan world that we, a smaller, more secluded, audience should know about.
- Featured author of the month. Maybe not even author, but book. Like a book review.
- An astral projection/bilocation section
- A newspaper staff
- A featured Pagan artist/album section

So, we've had some great suggestions/ideas so far. Let's hear some more! Or maybe you could just tell us your thoughts on the current suggestions.

Wow! I can see a ton of work went onto the newspaper- what a great group effort! smile

I want to compliment you on the graphics too- I thought they were perfect for each topic and very nice.

I have a couple questions; one about the recipes in Kitchen Witches. Where would you go about getting acron flour? I don't think I've seen any in my grocery store- is that something you would have to hand make? If so, any tips? Also for the other recipe would you reccommend just going to a local park and picking up acorns to use?

My other question is about location. I thought I saw a link to a website the newpaper was on in another thread somewhere. Are we still using the website, or is the paper located here only?

I thought the oak article was wonderful, there are so many things I don't normally think of as "herbs". And I didn't know there were so many uses for oak bark! Also the citrine was interesting too. I carry an amethyst with me; I may just have to add a citrine to that.

About the suggestions; I'd love to learn more about animal totems. Whether in the newspaper or as a class- either would be great.

Acorn flour... I actually have no clue. I'll have to look that one up. And I think I would recommend going to a park and picking acorns up, or in your backyard even. Although, if it's possible, I think that picking them straight off the tree would be better, but I wouldn't know how to tell if they were ripe or whatever.

We attempted to put the newspaper on a website, but, it just wasn't working... too many pop-ups and other ads, etc. So, we decided to place the newspapers in here. So, from now on (or at least for now, you never know) they will be located here only.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. And I'll get back to you on the acorn flour. biggrin

I found a website that has a list of acorn flour suppliers.

http://www.powersourcing.com/sf/acornflour.htm

I don't know how reliable that site is though.

And here's a link on how to make acorn flour.

I learned something from reading that last site I gave you. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I feel that everyone should read it before consuming anything with acorns.

Warning: Acorns conatin Tannin, which is very poisonous. Please read this site to learn how to remove the Tannin from the acorn.

I wish I had known that before publishing those recipes. Please be careful if any of you use those recipes. Follow the instructions carefully that are given on that site.

Oh wow!

I went and looked at the site Rainbow sited the recipe at and found this there:

http://www.prodigalgardens.info/processing acorns step by step.htm

It mentions that acorns do have tannin (which is why they are bitter) and gets some steps on processing acorns.

BTW; I forgot to mention I love the dream pillow idea. smile

I think we should actually have something for the people with ghosts problems. I mean sage is generally a good removal procss for spirits, but not once have I seen it actually remove a ghost. I also think you should start making a cook book! I mean some of the recipes are wonderful! And tannin isn't poisonus to humans unless consumed in large amounts. I mean the tea you drink has tannin in it as does grapes.

@Capt. Kat: Well, I imagine that to make enough flour for something, it'd take quite a bit of acorns, so it has the potential to be very harmful. Like I said, I didn't even know that. So... yeah. I just felt it was necessary to put a little warning, because I don't want anyone getting sick.

I like the cook book idea, but I don't think we'd put it in the newspaper. I'd put it in The Library. I'll get it up eventually. 3nodding

It's a very good warning, some people are allergic to it. And if your looking for acorn flour, I would suggest trying to find it already made. It's usually only made in specialty shops because humans don't tend to eat acorns much anymore. XD

I just have one suggestion: It would be a great way for the guild to make money to charge people for their advertisements in the newsletter. Nothing big, but something like 25 gold an issue would be great.

But, of course, I don't know what the financial situation is of the guild, but with that money we would be able to have more contests with bigger and better prizes. Or it could go toward the newsletter writers *wink*. Just kidding.

You mean with the classified ads? That would be a good idea, but people would just post them in the guild which would be free. So, then no one would put them in the newspaper. So, it'd be pretty pointless.
