Alright folks! let's see how well you guys can write. Here's the deal, I want you guys to write a poem by December 31st. The poem can be no shorter than 5 stanzas, but you can make it as long as you like. The best poem will win 10000 gold as well as a promotion. But don't get writing just yet folks! There is one requirement for this contest, and that is the poem must be about the relationship between siblings. How that relationship is I leave up to you. Now lets review the key facts:
1. Must be about siblings
2. Must be at least 5 stanzas
3. Must be in by December 31st (Anything later will not be considered)
4. Winner gets 10000 gold and a promotion

Well get to it folks! See you back here on December 31st.

Try it anyway, never hurts to attempt it.

Kenyasha, you're such a sucker for that aren't you? Anyway, Even if you feel that you are not a good poetry writer, please try. It doesn't hurt to at least get your creativity going.

EDIT: In order to clear up any questions I'm going to say how to enter. Simply post your poem here by Dec. 31st. If the poem meets the requirements it will be judged along with other poems until a winner is chosen and announced.

Okay, here's my entry. I just hope if follows all the rules...by the way, it's called Siblings.

Secrets are told and feelings are shared,
that parents don't need to know.
Tears come forth and laughter flows,
because we know that there is love.
Dedicated sisters.

We smile and make jokes,
teasing and poking fun at each other.
All the while knowing
that nothing comes between us.
True brothers.

I won't let them hurt her,
because she is innocent and pure.
Even though she's sixteen,
she needs to be watched over.
Delicate little sister.

He looks so grown up,
I can't believe I'm seeing this.
Where's the little annoying boy?
I can't protect him anymore.
Special little brother.

We stick together,
no matter what happens.
We're there for each other at all times.
We're family and out ties are strong.
Siblings forever = never wrong.

For My Brother
Here's to my brother
Remember every day
No matter what I've said
Here's what I'd like to say
I will always love you
Be with you till the end
When no one else is around
I will be your friend
I love my brother
and I always will
I'm proud to be your sister
that's how I feel
And someday when we're far away
And the miles keep us apart
I'm gonna whisper
I love my brother
And you'll hear it in your heart
(OR - You will discover
I love my brother
And you'll know it in your heart)

Aha! Both Tweety and Taffylover have already submitted their poems to this competition. Both also fit the requirements set forth by Kenyasha267 so they will be judged. There is still plenty of time for the rest of you to get your work in, so get to it! As for the two who have already posted, Kenyasha267 has written me to tell me that you are allowed to edit your posts anytime before Dec. 31st. If you feel that you made a mistake, or a certain line could be improved, feel free to edit as much as you want, as long as everything stays within the requirements. The reason why Kenyasha267 is allowing this is because: "Writing is not just putting jumbled ideas on to paper. Ideas are abstract, making the act of putting ideas on paper difficult. Writers make several attempts, tweaks, and all around editing before they feel that the final product matches the idea they wished to put down. What right do we have to take that away from the folks in this contest?" or so Kenyasha267 said in his PM to me.

NOTE: After Dec. 31st all poems will be considered the final product. To make the judging process easier, anyone who edits their poem during the judging period (Jan 1st- ??) will be disqualified. It's hard to judge a poem that keeps changing.

I think it should be noted that judging will only begin on Dec 31st. This is to allow revisions as well as give everyone an equal chance. "The early bird gets the worm," is true, but in order for everyone to have an equal opportunity I will judge everyone at the same time. Also, since we have gotten a good response for this size guild already, future contests are going to spring up once I get around to them. Until then folks.

That was random. Why did you just come up and out with that.

I felt that it was needed.

Ohh, o.k. Can you kinda just cut the judging date because it doesn't seem like anyone else is going to post a poem and I'm really anxious to know whose gonna win!

I could do that, but I want to be fair to everyone. I'm afraid that if I start judging now someone will turn their poem in last minute. I work that way myself so I know that someone might do that too. However, less poems equals less judging time and I could probably be finished judging by Jan 3rd at this rate, please be patient.
